Karakter Bangsa dan Tantangan Bela Negara di Era Google Veo 3 dalam Perspektif Damai dan Resolusi Konflik

    No full text
Abstract: The advancement of generative visual technology, particularly Google Veo 3, has significant implications for national character and the challenges of national defense in the digital era. This technology enables the creation of realistic videos from simple text, which, on one hand, can be utilized for educational purposes, but on the other hand, opens opportunities for the dissemination of visual disinformation such as deepfakes. This study adopts a descriptive-analytical focus, employing a literature review with a thematic content analysis approach on relevant literature and case studies regarding the use of Google Veo 3, to examine its impact on social stability, democratic processes, and the values of Pancasila from the perspective of Peace and Conflict Resolution. The analysis reveals that this technology has the potential to serve as an instrument of conflict through the manipulation of public perception, identity politics, and the delegitimization of state institutions. However, other findings indicate that these risks can be mitigated through digital literacy, the strengthening of national ethics, and cross-sector collaboration. This study emphasizes that national defense in the digital era encompasses not only physical protection but also cognitive and ideological efforts to safeguard national identity amidst the escalating visual information warfare.

This article aims to describe the problems of the implementation of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution with the target point of  declining National Values in generation Z and Alpha Indonesia in the Digital era after the Covid-19 pandemic and analyze the urgency of implementing the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, one of which is educating the nation's life.  as one of the efforts to save generations of Indonesians. This article was compiled using the library review method, focusing on the Indonesian generation. Researchers collect data from a variety of sources, such as journal articles, books, and other related sources. The results of this study show that the decline in the value of nationality has escalated, especially after the occurrence of Covid-19, which was marked by many generations of Indonesians who did not know the value of nationality and this caused problems with the implementation of the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution. Covid-19 is a pandemic that has affected the decline in awareness of generation Z and Alpha in addition to all this is a shared responsibility. The attention that should be paid to generation Z and Alpha is not only imposed on educational institutions. However, this is also the responsibility of parents, the Government and community leaders. In addition, other results show that if we do not save generation Z and Alpha, it will have an impact in the future that the successor of the Indonesian nation has regressed because it does not know the value of its own nationality and does not even know its identity as a good Indonesian citizen in fighting for and achieving efforts to educate the nation. O principal referencial teórico abordado foi fundamentado nas reflexões de Gérard Genette (2009) e Marie-Hèléne C. Torres (2011).Abstract: The main objective of this work is to examine the paratextual elements in twelve anthologies of the French author Guy de Maupassant's short stories, translated and published in the 20th and 21st centuries in Brazil, in order to disclose how the writer and his oeuvre are presented to the Brazilian reader, through the use of paratexts. I analysed only the translated anthologies with short stories from the author himself; anthologies that had other authors as well were not considered. The main theoretical framework was based on the reflections of Gérard Genette (2009) and Marie-Hèléne C. Torres (2011)

Romantic Dialogues: Writing the Self in De Quincey and Woolf

    No full text
Virginia Woolf has been recognised as a pioneering modernist writer creating a new literary voice. It is not unusual to discover in Woolf’s writings the aesthetic and literary traces of those past traditions and influences which have been woven into her modern narratives. One significant, but often overlooked, influence comes from the Romantic period and the essayist, Thomas De Quincey. De Quincey’s stylish essays inspire Woolf’s art. Both writers’ fascination with representing the self (and their devotion to creating a literary thinking about, and narrative of, the subject) indicates a shared affinity between these two writers in spite of important cultural, historical, and social differences between them. My treatment of the self in De Quincey and Woolf is aware of the aesthetic and literary affinities between them and those cultural and historical differences that divide them. Tracing important connections between these two important writers sheds light on the larger concerns and patterns of both the literary scenes of Romanticism and Modernism. Six chapters in three sections focus on three main aspects of the self central to De Quincey and Woolf—the art of literature, the representation of time and the question of autobiographical writing. Chapter One and Two investigate De Quincey’s literature of power and Woolf’s art of fiction to examine the relationship between literary representation and the self. Chapter Three and Four discuss issues of time and self in De Quincey and Woolf. The final two chapters contend that De Quincey’s and Woolf’s reflections on literary representation, and time as a philosophical problem are embodied in their writings of the self across their respective literary careers. A project of this kind is alert to and enriches a recent burgeoning critical interest from Romanticists and Modernists alike in the exchanges, interchanges, bequests, and legacies of Romanticism to Modernism

Association analyses of 249,796 individuals reveal 18 new loci associated with body mass index

Obesity is globally prevalent and highly heritable, but its underlying genetic factors remain largely elusive. To identify genetic loci for obesity susceptibility, we examined associations between body mass index and similar to 2.8 million SNPs in up to 123,865 individuals with targeted follow up of 42 SNPs in up to 125,931 additional individuals. We confirmed 14 known obesity susceptibility loci and identified 18 new loci associated with body mass index (P < 5 x 10(-8)), one of which includes a copy number variant near GPRC5B. Some loci (at MC4R, POMC, SH2B1 and BDNF) map near key hypothalamic regulators of energy balance, and one of these loci is near GIPR, an incretin receptor. Furthermore, genes in other newly associated loci may provide new insights into human body weight regulation

The aim of this thesis is to argue that Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (1812-1852) was a liturgist who had a liturgical vision. He is commonly regarded as an architect and designer per se, but many believe he had eccentric ideas, was a fanatic for the Gothic style of architecture and that while he was religious, he had little impact on the religious controversy and events of his time. The thesis will bring forward a different picture of him. The reasons put forward to support the claim that he was a liturgist are that he had a particularly definition of liturgy; he studied liturgy for three years; he employed a particular method of writing, which was commonly used by past liturgists; many of his authorities were liturgists and historians, as well as architects and designers, and his sources related to liturgy. Pugin went from attacking Protestants, to defending his views against Roman Catholics. To argue for his views, Pugin employed a particular methodology, which included a vast number of authorities and sources. He offered to England an alternative setting of the Roman rite. The new converts who had seceded from the Church of England to the Church of Rome, including John Henry Newman and his circle, did not support him and this led to a major conflict. Their different views of liturgy became a matter of judgement for the Roman Catholic Church. Pugin was influenced by Continental, particularly French, Roman Catholic scholars and liturgists. The influence of the leader of the liberal Catholics in France, Charles-Forbes-Rene, Count de Montalembert, is also brought to light. The thesis will argue that Pugin sought to implement his views on liturgy in England and had a vision of a future England that could act as an example to the rest of Catholic Christendom, including the Church of Rome. He initially had a measure of success, but finally failed and bowed to the judgement of the Roman Catholic Church

The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.7 fb−1 recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC. With a sample of more than 20 million W → μν events, the statistical precision is greatly improved in comparison to previous measurements. These new results provide additional constraints on the parton distribution functions of the proton in the range of the Bjorken scaling variable x from 10−3 to 10−1. These measurements and the recent CMS measurement of associated W þ charm production are used together with the cross sections for inclusive deep inelastic e p scattering at HERA in a next-to-leading-order QCD analysis. The determination of the valence quark distributions is improved, and the strange-quark distribution is probed directly through the leading-order process g þ s → W þ c in proton-proton collisions at the LHC.the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research and the Austrian Science Fund; the Belgian Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique, and Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk Onderzoek; the Brazilian Funding Agencies (CNPq, CAPES, FAPERJ, and FAPESP); the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science; CERN; the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Science and Technology, and National Natural Science Foundation of China; the Colombian Funding Agency (COLCIENCIAS); the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, and the Croatian Science Foundation; the Research Promotion Foundation, Cyprus; the Ministry of Education and Research, Recurrent financing contract SF0690030s09 and European Regional Development Fund, Estonia; the Academy of Finland, Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture, and Helsinki Institute of Physics; the Institut National de Physique Nucléaire et de Physique des Particules/CNRS, and Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives/CEA, France; the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, and Helmholtz-Gemeinschaft Deutscher Forschungszentren, Germany; the General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Greece; the National Scientific Research Foundation, and National Innovation Office, Hungary; the Department of Atomic Energy and the Department of Science and Technology, India; the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics, Iran; the Science Foundation, Ireland; the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Italy; the Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the World Class University program of NRF, Republic of Korea; the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences; the Mexican Funding Agencies (CINVESTAV, CONACYT, SEP, and UASLP-FAI); the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, New Zealand; the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission; the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the National Science Centre, Poland; the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, Portugal; JINR, Dubna; the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency of Atomic Energy of the Russian Federation, Russian Academy of Sciences, and the Russian Foundation for Basic Research; the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of Serbia; the Secretaría de Estado de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación and Programa Consolider-Ingenio 2010, Spain; the Swiss Funding Agencies (ETH Board, ETH Zurich, PSI, SNF, UniZH, Canton Zurich, and SER); the National Science Council, Taipei; the Thailand Center of Excellence in Physics, the Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology of Thailand, Special Task Force for Activating Research and the National Science and Technology Development Agency of Thailand; the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey, and Turkish Atomic Energy Authority; the Science and Technology Facilities Council, UK; the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. National Science Foundation.
