Search for pair production of massive particles decaying into three quarks with the ATLAS detector in root s=7 TeV pp collisions at the LHC

JacksonA search is conducted for hadronic three-body decays of a new massive coloured particle in √s=7 TeV pp collisions at the LHC using an integrated luminosity of 4.6 fb−1 collected by the ATLAS detector. Supersymmetric gluino pair production in the context of a model with R-parity violation is used as a benchmark scenario. The analysis is divided into two search channels, each optimised separately for their sensitivity to high-mass and low-mass gluino production. The first search channel uses a stringent selection on the transverse momentum of the six leading jets and is performed as a counting experiment. The second search channel focuses on low-mass gluinos produced with a large boost. Large-radius jets are selected and the invariant mass of each of the two leading jets is used as a discriminant between the signal and the background. The results are found to be consistent with Standard Model expectations and limits are set on the allowed gluino mass.The ATLAS collaboratio
An Amphiphilic (salen)Co Complex – Utilizing Hydrophobic Interactions to Enhance the Efficiency of a Cooperative Catalyst
An amphiphilic (salen)Co(III) complex is presented that accelerates the hydrolytic kinetic resolution (HKR) of epoxides almost 10 times faster than catalysts from commercially available sources. This was achieved by introducing hydrophobic chains that increase the rate of reaction in one of two ways – by enhancing cooperativity under homogeneous conditions, and increasing the interfacial area under biphasic reaction conditions. While numerous strategies have been employed to increase the efficiency of cooperative catalysts, the utilization of hydrophobic interactions is scarce. With the recent upsurge in green chemistry methods that conduct reactions ‘on water’ and at the oil-water interface, the introduction of hydrophobic interactions has potential to become a general strategy for enhancing the catalytic efficiency of cooperative catalytic systems. KHASIAT DAUN SALAM (Eugenia polyantha Wight) SEBAGAI ANTIDIARE PADA TIKUS PUTIH
Secara tradisional daun salam (Eugenia polyantha Wight) banyak digunakan sebagai obat, diantaranya obat diare. Telah dilakukan penelitian khasiat daun salam yang dibuat dalam bentuk obat minum (potio) terhadap tikus putih yang dibuat diare dengan menggunakan minyak jarak (oleum ricini) menurut rnetode P. Bass (1973). Obat minum yang dibuat dari daun salam segar (dengan kadar gula 30%) diberikan secara oral 1 jam sebelum pemberian minyak jarak dengan dosis 15 mg'/100 g bb (1 x DM), 150 mg/100vg bb (10 x DM) dan 450 mg.100 g bb (30 x DM). Sebagai pembanding, digunakan Loperamid dosis 0,12 mg100 g bb, serta larutan gula 30% dan akuades sebagai kontrol, yang diberikan masing masing 1 ml/100 g bb. Minyak jarak yang diberikan 2 ml pet oral tikus. Dari basil penelitian, terlihat bahwa semua dosis yang diberikan mempunyai khasiat antidiare dan memperlihatkan adanya dosis efek. ABSTRAK
ARINY POESPITASARI. Kandungan Flavonoid dan Daya Antioksidan Formula Teh Daun Salam Kombinasi Serai Sebagai Minuman Fungsional Alternatif (dibimbing oleh Nurdin Rahman).
Prevalensi penyakit degeneratif terus meningkat dari tahun 2017 hingga saat ini, sehingga diperlukan alternatif dalam pencegahan penyakit degeneratif salah satunya dengan kandungan flavonoid dan antioksidan dalam olahan herbal bahan pangan fungsional yaitu teh daun salam kombinasi serai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan teh daun salam kombinasi serai dengan menggunakan 5 formulasi sebagai minuman fungsional serta mengetahui kandungan flavonoid dan daya antioksidan yang terkandung sehingga dapat dijadikan minuman fungsional alternatif dalam pencegahan penyakit degeneratif. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratorium dan desain penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif eksploratif dengan faktor yang menjadi uji coba beberapa konsentrasi yang berbeda dari daun salam dan serai, dan analisis statistik menggunakan uji beda ANOVA, uji lanjut Duncan, dan uji Korelasi Pearson dengan signifikansi p = 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa formulasi terpilih adalah F1 dengan kandungan flavonoid yang tertinggi yaitu 1214,29 mg/100 g dan memiliki daya antioksidan yang terkuat dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 79,022 ppm. Hasil analisis statistik pada uji kandungan flavonoid yaitu p = 0,000 dan pada uji daya antioksidan yaitu p = 0,000 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nyata antara kandungan flavonoid dan daya antioksidan dari berbagai formulasi. Hasil uji Duncan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan dari semua formulasi, dan hasil uji Korelasi Pearson adalah terdapat hubungan yang sangat kuat antara kandungan flavonoid dan daya antioksidan dalam formulasi yaitu p = 0,000. Desain kemasan pada formulasi terpilih dirancang sesuai dengan syarat dan ketentuan dari BPOM 2020 Tentang Label Pangan yaitu mencakup nama produk, daftar bahan yang digunakan, isi berat bersih, nama dan alamat produsen, tanggal dan kode produksi, keterangan kedaluwarsa, dan nomor izin edar berupa PIRT (Sertifikat Produksi Pangan Industri Rumah Tangga).

The Effect of Mental Fatigue on Critical Power during cycling exercise
Purpose: Time-to-exhaustion (TTE) tests used in the determination of critical power (CP) and curvature constant (W) of the power-duration relationship are strongly influenced by the perception of effort (PE). This study aimed to investigate whether manipulation of the PE alters the CP and W. Methods: Eleven trained cyclists completed a series of TTE tests to establish CP and W under two conditions, following a mentally fatiguing (MF), or a control (CON) task. Both cognitive tasks lasted 30 min followed by a TTE test. Ratings of PE and heart rate (HR) were measured during each TTE. Blood lactate was taken pre and post each TTE test. Ratings of perceived mental and physical fatigue were taken pre- and post-cognitive task, and following each TTE test. Results: Perceived MF significantly increased as a result of the MF task compared to baseline and the CON task (P0.05). PE was significantly higher during TTE in the MF condition (P0.05). Neither cognitive task induced any change in CP (MF 253±51 vs. CON 247±58W; P>0.05), although W was significantly reduced in the MF condition (MF 2.3±4.5 vs. CON 2.9±6.3kJ; P<0.01). Conclusion: MF has no effect of CP, but reduces the W in trained cyclists. Lower lactate accumulation during TTE tests following MF, suggests that cyclists were not be able to fully expend W even though they exercised to volitional exhaustion
Search for new phenomena in final states with large jet multiplicities and missing transverse momentum at s√=8 TeV proton-proton collisions using the ATLAS experiment
A search is presented for new particles decaying to large numbers (7 or more) of jets, with missing transverse momentum and no isolated electrons or muons. This analysis uses 20.3 fb−1 of pp collision data at s√=8 TeV collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The sensitivity of the search is enhanced by considering the number of b-tagged jets and the scalar sum of masses of large-radius jets in an event. No evidence is found for physics beyond the Standard Model. The results are interpreted in the context of various simplified supersymmetry-inspired models where gluinos are pair produced, as well as an mSUGRA/CMSSM model
