EB ELSEWJER PHYSICS LETTERS B Physics Letters B 379 (1996) [330][331][332][333][334][335][336][337][338][339][340] Kaon interference in the hadronic decays of the Z" Abstract The first measurement of like-sign charged kaon correlations in hadronic decays of the p is presented, based on data collected by the DELPHI detector. The charged kaons are identified by means of ring imaging Cherenkov detectors. A significant enhancement at small values of the four:momentum difference is observed in the ratio of like-sign to unlikesign KK pairs and in the ratio of like-sign pairs to a simulated reference sample. An update of the measurement of KiK:!, interference is also presented. An enhancement is found in the production of pairs of Ki of similar momenta, as compared with a simulated reference sample. The measured Bose-Einstein correlation parameters A and r are similar for charged and neutral kaon pairs. The value of the Bose-Einstein correlation strength A is consistent with unity. Search for heavy stable and longlived particles in e+ e- collisions at s**(1/2) = 189-GeV
A search for stable and long-lived heavy charged particles was performed using the data taken by the DELPHI experiment at an energy of 189 GeV. The Cherenkov light detected in the Ring Imaging Cherenkov Detector and the ionisation loss measured in the Time Projection Chamber were used to identify heavy particles passing through the detector. No evidence for the production of such particles has been found, therefore exclusion limits at 95% confidence level were derived on the masses of left and right handed smuons and staus. The results were combined with previous DELPHI searches in this channel. Including previous DELPHI results, masses of left (right) handed stable smuons and staus can be excluded between 2 GeV/c2 and 88 (87.5) GeV/c2 at 95% CL.0info:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
Art psychotherapy with adult offenders who have intellectual and developmental disabilities
Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of art psychotherapy with adult offenders who have intellectual and developmental disabilities within an inpatient setting. The research looked at significant events taking place within the treatment that supported therapeutic outcomes. The aims of the research were to investigate a range of explanations for measurable therapeutic change that could be plausibly related to the processes observed in therapy.
Design: Four single-case studies were conducted with pre-treatment, treatment, and post treatment assessment using multiple measures of change and observations of process.
Participants: Four male participants with mild intellectual and developmental disabilities from an NHS medium-low secure forensic hospital in the UK.
Intervention: Each participant completed up to 20 individual art psychotherapy sessions within six months. The treatment sought to engage each participant in making personally generated art work which was then discussed with the therapist.
Main outcome measures: Core Conflictual Relationship Theme (CCRT); Daily Self-Rating Scale for specific symptoms; Personal Problem Scale; Modified Overt Aggression Scale (MOAS); Brief Symptom Inventory 18 (BSI-18); Glasgow Anxiety Scale for adults with Intellectual Disabilities (GAS-ID); Glasgow Depression Scale for people with a Learning Disability (GDS-LD); Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES).
Results: The main outcomes show a post-treatment reduction in aggressive styles of interacting with others for two participants in a medium secure unit. Daily Self-Rating Scale measures show an improved post-therapy trend for three participants, with all participants reporting improvement on the Personal Problem Scale and positive changes in CCRT interpersonal schemas. Behavioural and relational outcomes were observed to promote pro-social responses towards others three months following the end of treatment. Art psychotherapy was found to have positive therapeutic benefits for each of the four participants
Measurement of the electron structure function F-2(e) at LEP energies
The hadronic part of the electron structure function F2e has been measured for the first time, using e +e - data collected by the DELPHI experiment at LEP, at centre-of-mass energies of s=91.2-209.5GeV. The data analysis is simpler than that of the measurement of the photon structure function. The electron structure function F2e data are compared to predictions of phenomenological models based on the photon structure function. It is shown that the contribution of large target photon virtualities is significant. The data presented can serve as a cross-check of the photon structure function F2γ analyses and help in refining existing parameterisations. © 2014 The Authors. Elsevier B.V
Inclusive single-particle production in two-photon collisions at LEP II with the DELPHI detector
A study of the inclusive charged hadron production in two-photon collisions is described. The data were collected with the DELPHI detector at LEP II. Results on the inclusive single-particle pT distribution and the differential charged hadrons dσ/dpT cross-section are presented and compared to the predictions of perturbative NLO QCD calculations and to published results

A measurement of the branching fractions of the b-quark into charged and neutral b-hadrons DELPHI Collaboration
Abstract The production fractions of charged and neutral b-hadrons in b-quark events from Z 0 decays have been measured with the DELPHI detector at LEP. An algorithm has been developed, based on a neural network, to estimate the charge of the weaklydecaying b-hadron by distinguishing its decay products from particles produced at the primary vertex.
