Suppression of non-prompt J/ψ, prompt J/ψ, and Y(1S) in PbPb collisions at √s NN = 2.76 TeV
This is the Pre-print verison of the Article. The official published version can be accessed from the link below - Copyright @ 2012 Springer VerlagYields of prompt and non-prompt J/ψ, as well as U (1S) mesons, are measured by the CMS experiment via their μ + μ − decays in PbPb and pp collisions at Ö{s\textNN} = 2.76 sNN=276 TeV for quarkonium rapidity |y| < 2.4. Differential cross sections and nuclear modification factors are reported as functions of y and transverse momentum p T, as well as collision centrality. For prompt J/ψ with relatively high p T (6.5 < p T < 30 GeV/c), a strong, centrality-dependent suppression is observed in PbPb collisions, compared to the yield in pp collisions scaled by the number of inelastic nucleon-nucleon collisions. In the same kinematic range, a suppression of non-prompt J/ψ, which is sensitive to the in-medium b-quark energy loss, is measured for the first time. Also the low-p T U (1S) mesons are suppressed in PbPb collisions.This work was supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research; the Belgium Fonds de la Recherche Scientifique, and Fonds voor Wetenschappelijk

Measurement of the prompt J/ψ and ψ(2S) polarizations in pp collisions at s=7 TeV
This is the pre-print version of the final published paper that is available from the link below.The polarizations of prompt J/ψ and ψ(2S) mesons are measured in proton-proton collisions at s=7 TeV, using a dimuon data sample collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb. The prompt J/ψ and ψ(2S) polarization parameters λ, λ, and λ, as well as the frame-invariant quantity λ~, are measured from the dimuon decay angular distributions in three different polarization frames. The J/ψ results are obtained in the transverse momentum range 14<p<70 GeV, in the rapidity intervals |y|<0.6 and 0.6<|y|<1.2. The corresponding ψ(2S) results cover 14<p<50 GeV and include a third rapidity bin, 1.2<|y|<1.5. No evidence of large polarizations is seen in these kinematic regions, which extend much beyond those previously explored
Climbing Benjacob's Ladder: An Evaluation of Vinograd's Thesaurus of the Hebrew Book
The Thesaurus of the Hebrew Book, by Yeshayahu Vinograd, is reviewed in the context of both general bibliography and of general Hebraica bibliography. Significant contributions in Hebrew bibliography preceding the Thesaurus are discussed. After reviewing a previous work of Y. Vinograd, the author evaluates the Thesaurus from a bibliographer's perspective, using the criteria established by Louise-Noelle Malcles. The article concludes with a biographical note on Yeshayahu Vinograd
Observation of the Λb0→J/ψΞ-K+ decay
Using proton–proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 140fb-1 collected by the CMS experiment at s=13TeV, the Λb0→J/ψΞ-K+ decay is observed for the first time, with a statistical significance exceeding 5 standard deviations. The relative branching fraction, with respect to the Λb0→ψ(2S)Λ decay, is measured to be B(Λb0→J/ψΞ-K+)/B(Λb0→ψ(2S)Λ)=[3.38±1.02±0.61±0.03]%, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is related to the uncertainties in B(ψ(2S)→J/ψπ+π-) and B(Ξ-→Λπ-)
Observation of Y(3940)→J/ψω in B→J/ψωK at BABAR
We present a study of the decays B0,+→J/ψωK0,+ using 383×106 BB̅ events obtained with the BABAR detector at PEP-II. We observe Y(3940)→J/ψω, with mass 3914.6-3.4+3.8(stat)±2.0(syst) MeV/c2, and width 34-8+12(stat)±5(syst) MeV. The ratio of B0 and B+ decay to YK is 0.27-0.23+0.28(stat)-0.01+0.04(syst), and the relevant B0 and B+ branching fractions are reported

The analysis uses J/ψ and ψ(2S) dimuon samples collected by the CMS experiment, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 4.55 and 4.90 fb^{-1}, respectively. The results are based on a two-dimensional analysis of the dimuon invariant mass and decay length, and extend to p_{T}=120 and 100 GeV for the J/ψ and ψ(2S), respectively, when integrated over the interval |y|<1.2. The ratio of the ψ(2S) to J/ψ cross sections is also reported for |y|<1.2, over the range 10<p_{T}<100 GeV. These are the highest p_{T} values for which the cross sections and ratio have been measured
Bound on the Ratio of Decay Amplitudes for B¯0→J/ψK*0 and B0→J/ψK*0
We have measured the time-dependent decay rate for the process B→J/ψK*0(892) in a sample of about 88×106 Υ(4S)→BB̅ decays collected with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy B factory at SLAC. In this sample we study flavor-tagged events in which one neutral B meson is reconstructed in the J/ψK*0 or J/ψK̅ *0 final state. We measure the coefficients of the cosine and sine terms in the time-dependent asymmetries for J/ψK*0 and J/ψK̅ *0, find them to be consistent with the standard model expectations, and set upper limits at 90% confidence level (C.L.) on the decay amplitude ratios |A(B̅ 0→J/ψK*0)|/|A(B0→J/ψK*0)|<0.26 and |A(B0→J/ψK̅ *0)|/|A(B̅ 0→J/ψK̅ *0)|<0.32. For a single ratio of wrong-flavor to favored amplitudes for B0 and B̅ 0 combined, we obtain an upper limit of 0.25 at 90% C.L
Branching fraction and charge asymmetry measurements in B→J/ψππn decays
We study the decays B-0 -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-) and B+-> J/psi pi(+)pi(0), including intermediate resonances, using a sample of 382x10(6) B (B) over bar pairs recorded by the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) B factory. We measure the branching fractions B(B-0 -> J/psi rho(0))=(2.7 +/- 0.3 +/- 0.2)x10(-5) and B(B+-> J/psi rho(+))=(5.0 +/- 0.7 +/- 0.3)x10(-5). We also set the following upper limits at the 90% confidence level: B(B-0 -> J/psi pi(+)pi(-) nonresonant) J/psi f(2)) J/psi pi(+)pi(0) nonresonant)< 7.3x10(-6). We measure the charge asymmetry in charged B decays to J/psi rho to be -0.11 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.08
