Etnografias do brau: corpo, masculinidade e raça na reafricanização em Salvador Ethnographies of the brau: body, masculinity and race in the reafricanization of Salvador
In this article the author seeks to explore some developments of the process known as the cultural and political reafricanization of Salvador, through the transitory crystalization of social figure called "brau". This would be an inflexion of masculinity informed by racial and gender tensions in Salvador, as well as a localized appropriation of cultural themes of the African Diaspora. "Braus" were (are) young blacks from poor neighborhoods who re-created a black look/corporality from readings of North-American soul culture, while being stigmatized by the middle class as violents, ugly-looking and hyper-sexed, that is, excessively black and excessively male, a hyperbole which in a way contradicts this stigmatization

Using Self-Organizing Maps for the Behavioral Analysis of Virtualized Network Functions
Detecting anomalous behaviors in a network function virtualization infrastructure is of the utmost importance for network operators. In this paper, we propose a technique, based on Self-Organizing Maps, to address such problem by leveraging on the massive amount of historical system data that is typically available in these infrastructures. Indeed, our method consists of a joint analysis of system-level metrics, provided by the virtualized infrastructure monitoring system and referring to resource consumption patterns of the physical hosts and the virtual machines (or containers) that run on top of them, and application-level metrics, provided by the individual virtualized network functions monitoring subsystems and related to the performance levels of the individual applications. The implementation of our approach has been validated on real data coming from a subset of the Vodafone infrastructure for network function virtualization, where it is currently employed to support the decisions of data center operators. Experimental results show that our technique is capable of identifying specific points in space (i.e., components of the infrastructure) and time of the recent evolution of the monitored infrastructure that are worth to be investigated by human operators in order to keep the system running under expected conditions
Abstract : Barley (Hordeum vulgare L sp. vulgare) is considered one of the most important cereals in the global context. Currently, a latent concern of the brewing industry is the growth of filamentous fungi in grains, due to the improper manipulation of raw material during storage (excess of moisture), condensation, heating and infestation by insects. Regarding it and considering that barley is one of the most cereals comercialize din the world, the aim of this study was to investigate the presence of toxigenic fungi and mycotoxins in grains, evaluate the quality of craft beer produced in southern Brazil, and to determine the ozone gas efficiency of the destruction of some fungi found in barley. In addition, chemical and microstructural of 5 barley cultivars recommended for cultivation in Brazil were evaluated. The craft beers showed levels of deoxynivalenol (DON) in approximately 32% of the samples, and contamination with Fumonisin B1 in 15.8% of samples. The malting barley grains used in the research presented important fungal species (Fusarium, Alternaria, Rhysopus and Penicilllum) being Fusarium the most predominant genus. Concerning DON, the Brau variety showed more contamination, representing 50% of the samples. Fumonisins have been found, however, in a few samples and low levels. In the study of O3 as decontamination agent, the most susceptible species to the gas was F. poae, followed by F gramineraum. It is necessary to mention that the grain germination after treatment with O3 was not affected. Finally, chemical and microstructural analysis study of the brewing barley genotypes, BRS Brau showed better quality characteristics compared to the others, emphasizing high starch, with more presence of A-type starch granules, and low amounts of protein
Measurement of j / psi production in continuum e+ e- annihilations near s**(1/2) = 10.6-GeV
The production of J/ψ mesons in continuum e+e- annihilations has been studied with the BABAR detector at energies near the ϒ(4S) resonance. The mesons are distinguished from J/ψ production in B decays through their center-of-mass momentum and energy. We measure the cross section e+e-→J/ψX to be 2.52±0.21±0.21 pb. We set a 90% C.L. upper limit on the branching fraction for direct ϒ(4S)→J/ψX decays at 4.7×10-4
BOUND-FREE EMISSION FROM XeBr, XeI, AND KrF
J. J. Ewing and C. A. Brau, Phys. Rev. A12, 129 (1975).Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, NashvilleThe e-beam-excited emission bands of XeBr (2700-2850 {\AA}), XeI (2400-2550 {\AA}), and KrF (2400-2525 {\AA}) display a diffuse structure characteristic of bound-free emission from a near thermal (at ) distribution of Levels to a relatively Hat lower potential curve. The nature of this structure is discussed. Spectral simulations are used to obtain approximate potential curves for the electronic states involved in these transitions
Search for f(J)(2220) in radiative J/psi decays
We present a search for f(J)(2220) production in radiative J/psi --> gamma f(J)(2220) decays using 460 fb(-1) of data collected with the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II e(+)e(-) collider. The f(J)(2220) is searched for in the decays to K+K- and (KSKS0)-K-0. No evidence of this resonance is observed, and 90% confidence level upper limits on the product of the branching fractions for J/psi --> gamma f(J)(2220) and f(J)(2220) --> K+K-((KSKS0)-K-0) as a function of spin and helicity are set at the level of 10(-5), below the central values reported by the Mark III experiment
