KINERJA DINAS PENDIDIKAN PEMUDA DAN OLAHRAGA KOTA SURAKARTA DALAM SERTIFIKASI GURU 2007
Teacher certification represents the governmental effort in improving the quality of teacher that
was expected could improve the quality of study and quality of education in Indonesia on a continuity.
Teacher certification 2007 represents second times of teacher certification’s execution in Indonesia but
in its management still met by various insuffiency and resistance. The target of this research is knowing
the performance on The Duty of Education of Youth and Athletic of Surakarta about teacher
certification 2007 so that was expected could become references/input to effort of improvement of
performance management on The Duty of Education of Youth and Athletic of Surakarta in execution
program/ educational policy Surakarta furthermore.
The Research done by use the method of qualitative by exploiting data of primary and
secondary were obtained by interview, observation, and analyze document. The data was processed by
use interactive data analyze model to get the truth data meaning which doing data validity by the data
triangulation.
From research result, Performance on The Duty of Education of Youth and Athletic of Surakarta
about Teacher Certification 2007 was represented by indicator of responsivity, responsibility,
accountability, and transparency. By totally, that performance isn’t optimal yet because there were some
insuffiencies still in teacher certification 2007 management. Responsivity in teacher certification 2007
management isn’t optimal still yet because a lack of reaction capacity on The Duty of Education of
Youth and Athletic of Surakarta in recognizing public requirement/participant of teacher certification
2007 and in handling it. In the case of responsibility could be told that a management was according to
law and regulation which is in effect enough. But the strive of transparency of teacher certification
2007 management isn’t still optimal yet, remember there was still its participant of teacher certification
2007 which difficulty in accessing information from The Duty of Education of Youth and Athletic of
Surakarta. And so do the accountability is still less shown at stakeholders of teacher certification 2007.
So, the writer suggests the effort of improvement of performance on The Duty of Education of

Charismata and compassion : Dhinakaran, Charismatic healing and Pastoral Pentecostalism in South India : a practical theological assessment
This dissertation is a theological assessment of the Jesus Calls divine healing movement as it developed in South India. It analyses the thought of the founder D. G. S.
Dhinakaran, India's pre-eminent healing evangelist and explores its potential and adequacy as a pastoral theology. It draws out Dhinakaran's healing theology and model for ministry that has significantly contributed to Indian mission and attained international recognition. Until now, this movement has received no critical analysis.
The author, a native of South India, as an observer-participant, takes up this task.
The emergence and impact of the modem Pentecostal movement and the `full gospel' with healing as its flagship is discussed. The study highlights lesser-known precursors
and theological roots that give Indian Pentecostalism its distinct identity from the 1906 Azusa Street Revival, USA. It reveals how Charismatic Christianity flourishes due to
its bhakti spirituality, guru leadership, apostolic charismata and practical compassion. The thesis maintains that the dialectic of Pentecostal power and pastoral care is an effective mission strategy and proceeds to demonstrate this in Dhinakaran's ministry.
The research method progressed from a description of Dhinakaran's healing praxis via theological analysis to a critical assessment. It shows some major influences and the
appeal of his prayer movement and argues that the key to its success lies in its highly pragmatic, culturally adaptive and syncretic nature. Three doctrinal concepts that are embodied in Dhinakaran's model are presented: compassion, the wounded healer and healing evangelism, which correlate within a theological apparatus to make
interpretative sense of his praxis resulting in what is termed `Pastoral Pentecostalism'.
The hybridity in Dhinakaran's `miracle healing' is explored within two wider contextual interfaces: the traditional Hindu culture with the shamanic manthiravadi and an imported but adapted version of American faith healing. Here, an easternwestern synthesis is shown to contribute at once to a viable indigenous ministry and to global trends in Charismatic Christianity, allowing each to inform and shape the other. Dhinakaran's distinct prosperity message is located within the Guru movement and assessed against the American health-wealth gospel for pastoral integrity. The thesis advocates a Pastoral Pentecostalism that holds charismata and compassion in creative tension and re-presents Dhinakaran as a significant charismatic healing evangelist
Building Quality Assurance into Metadata Creation: an Analysis based on the Learning Objects and e-Prints Communities of Practice
This paper challenges some of the assumptions underlying the metadata creation process in the context of two communities of practice, based around learning object repositories and open e-Print archives. The importance of quality assurance for metadata creation is discussed and evidence from the literature, from the practical experiences of repositories and archives, and from related research and practices within other communities is presented. Issues for debate and further investigation are identified, formulated as a series of key research questions. Although there is much work to be done in the area of quality assurance for metadata creation, this paper represents an important first step towards a fuller understanding of the subject.
Mathematics Teachers’ Performance In Teaching Using English At Secondary National Plus Schools
The purpose of this research was to see correlation between self-efficacy for content mastery and teacher’s performance, as well as correlation between English mastery and teacher’s performance in using English at national plus schools. The sampling technique was purposely random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires that were given to the teachers to test self-efficacy for content mastery and performance. The English ability was collected through documents such as TOEFL and other equivalent documents. Using SPSS, the results showed that mathematics teachers had high self-efficacy in mastering the contents, more than sufficient English ability, and high performance. There was a positive correlation between self-efficacy in mastering the contents and teacher’s performance. Furthermore, it had been obtained also a positive correlation between English ability and teachers’ performance.
Key words: self-efficacy, mathematics, English, content, teacher, performanc
A Body of Text: Physical Culture and the Marketing of Mobility
Drawing on Althusserian notions of ideology and Bourdieu’s understanding of bodily hexis, A Body of Text seeks to reframe Physical Culture as an artifact worthy of serious study, more complex and less reactionary than its beefcake-and-sentiment reputation might suggest. This dissertation addresses the story of Physical Culture magazine from three different perspectives, reading the magazine through lenses of media history, medical history and social context, in order to understand the ways in which class operated on and through the body. In contrast to nearly every other publication in the early twentieth century, Physical Culture suggested that class mobility was possible, and that success would naturally follow improvement of body and health. Whereas the idea of “fitness” in the eugenics movement very clearly indicated an essential condition, consequent to the quality of the germline, Physical Culture initiated the idea that fitness was obtainable – and commodifiable – through diet, exercise and what we now call “lifestyle.”
Much of this argument is constructed by contrasting Physical Culture with Hygeia, the health magazine created by the American Medical Association for a lay audience, and by contrasting Physical Culture impresario Bernarr Macfadden with his counterpart at the AMA, Morris Fishbein. Whereas Macfadden’s story has been told and retold (albeit in biographies that are increasingly interesting but not yet definitive), Fishbein’s story has yet to be the subject of a responsible biography. First gestures in that direction open the door to further work on Fishbein as a subject, and to deeper studies of the relationship between medicine, marketing and modern consumerism. Far from suggesting that Macfadden is ipso facto a liberatory force or a sophisticated theorist, the likeliest explanation for the complex, unstable and evolving constructions of body politics in Physical Culture are twofold: first, coming himself from “unfit” germlines, Macfadden needs to enrich contemporary thinking about the body to make sense of (and room for) his own success; second, and more importantly: you can’t sell a bloodline
MeSH term explosion and author rank improve expert recommendations
Information overload is an often-cited phenomenon that reduces the productivity, efficiency and efficacy of scientists. One challenge for scientists is to find appropriate collaborators in their research. The literature describes various solutions to the problem of expertise location, but most current approaches do not appear to be very suitable for expert recommendations in biomedical research. In this study, we present the development and initial evaluation of a vector space model-based algorithm to calculate researcher similarity using four inputs: 1) MeSH terms of publications; 2) MeSH terms and author rank; 3) exploded MeSH terms; and 4) exploded MeSH terms and author rank. We developed and evaluated the algorithm using a data set of 17,525 authors and their 22,542 papers. On average, our algorithms correctly predicted 2.5 of the top 5/10 coauthors of individual scientists. Exploded MeSH and author rank outperformed all other algorithms in accuracy, followed closely by MeSH and author rank. Our results show that the accuracy of MeSH term-based matching can be enhanced with other metadata such as author rank
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
