India's Different Attitudes toward AIIB and BRI
No full textThe purpose of my thesis is to evaluate the current state of China-India relations from the perspectives of BRI and AIIB. China initiated BRI and AIIB as part of China’s external development strategy. However, India shows different reactions on the two China-initiated program. India gave a positive and fast response to AIIB, while it still stays away from BRI. In this regard, the research question has been asked why did India join AIIB but stays away from the BRI? In order to find a suitable answer to the research question, the author will analyse India’s different perceptions of AIIB and BRI, the China -India relations and the rise of China will also be discussed as background. Firstly, the background section includes a brief review of China-India relations and China’s increasing power in recent years. Both of the two elements influence India’s perception of BRI. Secondly, data studied in Analysis chapter includes India’s different attitudes toward AIIB and BRI. The author will discuss India’s perception of AIIB and BRI respectively. In order to make a better understanding of the reason, neorealism and some concepts like national interests will be used. Assuming that India shows different attitude towards the two China-led initiatives is based on India’s national interests, an evaluation of India’s national interests will also be argued. Taking into account these factors, it will be able to answer the research question. Thirdly, the Conclusion chapter will provide an overview of how the data and theory are used in analytic framework, and the findings achieved
CHINA-ÁFRICA NO CONTEXTO DA BRI-B3W
No full textThe article deals with China-Africa cooperation in the context of BRI-B3W. The first part illustrates the contrast of some prediction about the development of the 21st century and the reality. The second studies the various fabrications and the fact of China-Africa relations. The third examines the BRI (the Belt and Road Initiative) proposed by Xi Jinping in 2013 and the B3W (Build Back Better World) pur forward by Joe Biden in 2021. The fourth explores African role in the BRI. The fifth studies the concept and practice of "civilization" in relation to world development. The author suggests that the BRI and the B3W should cooperate with each other to make the South especially African continent a benefitiary thus contribute a great deal to the whole world.O artigo aborda a cooperação China-África no contexto da BRI-B3W. A primeira parte ilustra o contraste de algumas previsões sobre o desenvolvimento do século XXI e a realidade. A segunda estuda as várias invenções e os fatos sobre as relações China-África. A terceira examina a BRI (Iniciativa Belt and Road), proposta por Xi Jinping em 2013, e a B3W (Build Back Better World), apresentada por Joe Biden em 2021. A quarta explora o papel africano na BRI. The rules established by the Basle Committee on Banking Supervision do not seem to provide the condition for a safe international financial system. After the creation of an international public rule, the Cooke ratio, in the 1980s, financial supervisors have left to the private sector the authority to write the new regulatory standards of the 1990s. The new rules ended up with a weaker quality of risk supervision. In spite of that result, the Basle Committee is now following the same logic in credit risk operations. Paradoxically, this contribute to make international finance a zone of international ungovernance.

Après avoir forgé une norme publique multilatérale dans les années 1980, le ratio Cooke, les autorités prudentielles internationales ont abandonné au secteur privé le soin d’écrire les règles chargées de le réguler. Ceci s’est fait au détriment de la qualité de la surveillance des risques pris par les établissements financiers. En dépit de ce résultat, le Comité de Bâle poursuit aujourd’hui la même logique dans le domaine des risques de crédit. Paradoxalement, cette institution internationale contribue ainsi à faire de la finance internationalisée une zone de non gouvernance mondiale.

Rethinking Indonesia’s Interests in the BRI Projects under Jokowi’s Presidency: The Pros and Cons
Get PDFUnder Jokowi’s presidency, the BRI project was able to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Indonesia and China. This study aims to analyse and focus on: first, the pros and cons of Indonesia's interests in the BRI projects under Jokowi's presidency; second, the political leadership of Jokowi in managing and implementing BRI projects in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative approach to gather comprehensive data through a literature review. As an analytical tool for this research, the author used the political leadership theory by Kalevi Jaakko Holsti. The finding showed that, first, those who are pro-BRI will provide full support, supervision, and evaluation from year to year. Meanwhile, there are several cons to the BRI project due to fear of the debt trap, the influx of Chinese workers, the environmental damage, the overlapping maritime claims, anti-communist sentiment, and the image of Chinese products. The negative sentiment towards the BRI project can be eased with a soft-infrastructure approach that touches community (people-to-people) bonds. Second, regarding Jokowi's eight-year leadership, Jokowi's type of political leadership is more directed as a conciliator, especially in the China BRI project. It is based on Jokowi's record of making China a good partner and big brother
BRI Investments in Renewable Energy: Outcomes and Perspectives
Get PDFThe Belt and Road Initiative is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2023,
and it presents an opportunity to examine the achieved results within this
format and see its strengths and weaknesses while at the same time evaluating
potential prospects. Given the current political, economic, and environmental
circumstances, this analysis focuses on investments in renewable energy within
the BRI since its importance is increasing rapidly. The author used quantitative
and qualitative descriptive analysis to study data from 2014-2022, and the
database China Global Investment Tracker (American Enterprise Institute and
Heritage Foundation) was used as the primary source of investment values. So
far, through the BRI, China has invested the most in the energy sector and
transportation projects. Investments in the traditional energy sector that uses
coal, oil, and natural gas are significantly higher than those in renewable energy,
and the main reason for that was the preferences of the involved countries.
Renewable energy investments during the ten years followed the trend of other
investments within the BRI. The highest volume of FDIs and loans in clean
energy was registered in 2017, while the lowest was in 2021 and 2022. The
analysis showed that China invested the most in Sub-Saharan Africa and East
and West Asia. Pakistan, Laos, and Argentina were the top recipient countries.
The author concludes that the increasing awareness of the importance of
renewable energy and the rising global political, security, and economic volatility
make sustainability and self-sufficiency more necessary. Due to those trends,
investments in renewable energy within the BRI will increase in the near future,
but the traditional energy sector will still be the leading one

The issues raised in this research is how the strategy implemented by BRI Syariah Purwokerto Branch Office to enhancing frontliners services quality.
This research had been done by using descriptive research. By describing the strategies to enhancing frontliners services quality at BRI Syariah Purwokerto Branch Office. Then the author analyze by using the material and reference books, interviews, observations, and documentation that the author has got.
From the result of this research, the strategy that had been applied of BRI Syariah Purwokerto Branch Office to enhancing frontliners services quality is by holding training in the form of role play, conducting online test in the form of product knowledge test, and sharing every division of the operational section every Wednesday. There are five dimensions that had been applied to enhancing frontliners services quality of BRI Syariah Purwokerto Branch Office is Tangibility Dimension, Assurance, Reliability, Responsiveness, and Empath

Implementation of Islamic Business Ethics in Conventional Bank BRI Ciamis Branch Office, West Java
Get PDFThe purpose of this study is to find out the model and implementation of Islamic business ethics carried out by Bank BRI Ciamis branch office, where in carrying out its business it has put forward the principles of Islamic business ethics in serving consumers. The academic problem that arises is that Bank BRI KC Ciamis is a non-sharia bank, but in service to consumers it prioritizes Islamic business ethical values such as being fair, honest, trustworthy, besides that the majority of Bank BRI KC Ciamis employees are Muslims. The author tries to reveal and dig into this research using descriptive analysis where data sources are obtained through technical interviews, observation and documentation. The findings of this study are that the implementation of business at BRI KC Ciamis bank prioritizes the principles of Islamic business ethics, this can be proven in the 10 behaviors of BRI personnel, including: 1) Excellent Service, 2) employees work 3) effectively and 4) efficiently and 5) prioritizing responsibility, 6) honest, 7) mutual respect, 8) full of innovation, 9) positive attitude and 10) prioritizing trust in consumers. As for added value, namely the brand of BRI bank, namely "serving with sincerity."
Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini yakni untuk mengetahui model dan pelaksanaan etika bisnis islami yang dilakukan oleh Bank BRI kantor cabang Ciamis, dimana dalam pelaksanaan bisnisnya ia telah mengedepankan prinsip-prinsip etika bisnis islami dalam melayani konsumen. Adapun problem akademik yang muncul adalah Bank BRI KC Ciamis adalah bank non-syariah, namun dalam pelayanan kepada konsumen mengedepankan nilai-nilai etika bisnis islami seperti besikap adil, jujur, amanah, selain itu mayoritas pegawai Bank BRI KC Ciamis beragama islam. Penulis berusaha menguak serta menggali dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif dimana sumber data diraih melalui teknis wawancara, observasi serta dokumentasi. Hasil temuan penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pelaksanaan bisnis di bank BRI KC Ciamis mengedepankan prinsip etika bisnis islami, hal ini dapat dibuktikan dalam 10 Prilaku insan BRI, meliputi: 1) Pelayanan Prima, 2) karyawan bekerja secara 3) efektif dan 4) efisien serta 5) mengedepankan tanggungjawab, 6) jujur, 7) saling menghargai, 8) penuh inovatif, 9) sikap positif dan 10) mengedepankan kepercayaan kepada konsumen. Adapun sebagai nilai tambah yakni brand dari bank BRI yakni" melayani dengan setulus hati."
