Z-valued T-norm and T-conorm Operators-based Aggregation of Partially Reliable Information
AbstractT-norm and T-conorm operators are successfully used for processing uncertainty in system analysis, decision analysis, control, modeling and forecasting applications. The complexity of real-world applications is that relevant information is partially reliable. In this regard, Prof. L.A. Zadeh suggested the concept of a Z-number as an ordered pair Z1+Z2 of fuzzy numbers used to describe a value of a random variable X, where A is a fuzzy constraint on values of X and B is a fuzzy reliability of A, and is considered as a value of probability measure of R2. However, processing of Z-number based information is at its initial stage of crystallization. In this paper we consider Z-number valued T-norm and T-conorm operators of Z-numbers. A real-world application is used to illustrate validity and efficiency of Z-number valued T-norm and T-conorm operators based processing of partially reliable information

The analysis uses a data sample of proton-proton collisions at TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2015, corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 3.2 fb. The inclusive cross sections are extracted using likelihood fits to signal and control regions, resulting in pb and pb, in agreement with the Standard Model predictions
Turbulent structures in unsteady wall-bounded flow subject to temporal acceleration
Direct numerical simulations (DNS) of a transient turbulent channel flow subject to constant temporal acceleration have been performed with a final Reynolds number of \Retau=800. The response of turbulent structures to the temporal acceleration is investigated. A significant delay in the response of turbulent flow is observed in various turbulent properties. It is found that the response of turbulent flow to temporal acceleration consists of two stages: the destruction of the initial \emph{old} turbulence, followed by the generation of \emph{new} turbulence associated with a higher number. The \emph{new} turbulence is much stronger than the \emph{old} turbulence
Lyman break galaxies and the star formation rate of the Universe at z ~ 6
We determine the space density of UV-luminous starburst galaxies at z≈ 6 using deep HST ACS SDSS-i′ (F775W) and SDSS-z′ (F850LP) and VLT ISAAC J and Ks band imaging of the Chandra Deep Field South. We find eight galaxies and one star with (i′−z′) > 1.5 to a depth of z′AB= 25.6 (an 8σ detection in each of the 3 available ACS epochs). This corresponds to an unobscured star formation rate of ≈15 h−270 M⊙ yr−1 at z= 5.9, equivalent to L* for the Lyman-break population at z= 3–4 (ΩΛ= 0.7, ΩM= 0.3). We are sensitive to star-forming galaxies at 5.6 ≲z≲ 7.0 with an effective comoving volume of ≈1.8 × 105h−370 Mpc3 after accounting for incompleteness at the higher redshifts due to luminosity bias. This volume should encompass the primeval subgalactic-scale fragments of the progenitors of about a thousand L* galaxies at the current epoch. We determine a volume-averaged global star formation rate of (6.7 ± 2.7) × 10−4h70 M⊙ yr−1 Mpc−3 at z∼ 6 from rest-frame UV selected starbursts at the bright end of the luminosity function: this is a lower limit because of dust obscuration and galaxies below our sensitivity limit. This measurement shows that at z∼ 6 the star formation density at the bright end is a factor of ∼6 times less than that determined by Steidel et al. for a comparable sample of UV-selected galaxies at z= 3–4, and so extends our knowledge of the star formation history of the Universe to earlier times than previous work and into the epoch where reionization may have occurred
Developing Measures of Intellectual Capital for the Venture Capital Industry in Taiwan
The Taiwanese venture capital industry has played a critical role in the development of the Taiwan it industry. The purpose of this study is to construct and prioritize the intellectual capital measures of venture capital in Taiwan and to formulate a strategy map based on these measures. A thorough interview was used to collect the data, while the content analysis method and the analytic hierarchy process were used to analyze the data. Intellectual capital can be categorized into three dimensions: Human Capital, Relational Capital and Structural Capital. The research also developed twelve indicators to assess business intellectual capital, as well as a strategy map for the venture capital industry. T Cell responses to whole SARS Coronavirus in humans
Effective vaccines should confer long-term protection against future outbreaks of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) caused by a novel zoonotic coronavirus (SARS-CoV) with unknown animal reservoirs. We conducted a cohort study examining multiple parameters of immune responses to SARS-CoV infection, aiming to identify the immune correlates of protection. We used a matrix of overlapping peptides spanning whole SARS-CoV proteome to determine T cell responses from 128 SARS convalescent samples by ex vivo IFN-γ ELISPOT assays. Approximately 50% of convalescent SARS patients were positive for T cell responses, and 90% possessed strongly neutralizing Abs. Fifty-five novel T cell epitopes were identified, with spike protein dominating total T cell responses. CD8+ T cell responses were more frequent and of a greater magnitude than CD4+ T cell responses (p < 0.001).
Polychromatic cytometry analysis indicated that the virus-specific T cells from the severe group tended to be a central memory phenotype (CD27+/CD45RO+) with a significantly higher frequency of polyfunctional CD4+ T cells producing IFN-γ, TNF-α, and IL-2, and CD8+ T cells producing IFN-γ, TNF-α, and CD107a (degranulation), as compared with the mild-moderate group. Strong T cell responses correlated significantly (p < 0.05) with higher neutralizing Ab. The serum cytokine profile during acute infection indicated a significant elevation of innate immune responses. Increased Th2 cytokines were observed in patients with fatal infection. Our study provides a roadmap for the immunogenicity of SARS-CoV and types of immune responses that may be responsible for the virus clearance, and should serve as a benchmark for SARS-CoV vaccine design and evaluation
Self-archiving practice and the influence of publisher policies in the social sciences
Authors in different disciplines exhibit very different behaviours on the so-called ‘green’ road to open access, i.e. self-archiving. This study looks at the self-archiving behaviour of authors publishing in leading journals in six social science disciplines. It tests the hypothesis that authors are self-archiving according to the norms of their respective disciplines rather than following self-archiving policies of publishers, and that, as a result, they are self-archiving significant numbers of publisher PDF versions. It finds significant levels of
self-archiving, as well as significant self-archiving of
the publisher PDF version, in all the disciplines
investigated. Publishers’ self-archiving policies have
no influence on author self-archiving practice
