Devide Et Impera: The United Arab Emirates’ Strategic Policy In Yemen
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) may have withdrawn its troops from Yemen, but its influence remains substantial and significant. From the first stage of the war, Saudi Arabia focused on the north of Yemen, while the UAE actively engaged in the north\u27s south and coastal areas. Not only trains fighters, but the UAE also provides them with financial and political support. This is a descriptive-analytical article, using qualitative methods with data and works of literature, collected various books, journals, and online resources related to the topic. Furthermore, the author uses the devide et impera theory to elaborate, examine, and investigate the UAE\u27s policy, as well as its strategy, in Yemen. This article found that UAE\u27s divide and rule strategy is applied to achieve several interests in Yemen, such as countering terrorism, extremism, and Houthi. Nevertheless, the UAE is also ambitious to dispel al-Islah, a group affiliated to the Islamic Brotherhood
Ідея війни та проблема її трансформації
The author considers the classic theory of war by Carl von Clausewitz, as well as the conceptions of modern thinkers M. van Creveld and H. Hofmeister which claim to revise the main ideas of Clausewitz’s theory. The author proposes to devide strictly between the idea of war and war as social practice.
Techniques and software architectures for medical visualisation and image processing
This thesis presents a flexible software platform for medical visualisation and image processing, a technique for the segmentation of the shoulder skeleton from CT data and three techniques that make contributions to the field of direct volume rendering. Our primary goal was to investigate the use of visualisation techniques to assist the shoulder replacement process. This motivated the need for a flexible environment within which to test and develop new visualisation and also image processing techniques with a medical focus. The Delft Visualisation and Image processing Development Environment, or DeVIDE, was created to answer this need. DeVIDE is a graphical data-flow application builder that combines visualisation and image processing techniques, supports the rapid creation of new functional components and facilitates a level of interaction with algorithm code and parameters that differentiates it from similar platforms. For visualisation, measurement and pre-operative planning, an accurate segmentation from CT data of the bony structures of the shoulder is required. Due to the complexity of the shoulder joint and the fact that a method was required that could deal with diseased shoulders, existing techniques could not be applied. In this thesis we present a suite of techniques for the segmentation of the skeletal structures from CT data, especially designed to cope with diseased shoulders. Direct volume rendering, or DVR, is a useful visualisation technique that is often applied as part of medical visualisation solutions. A crucial component of an effective DVR visualisation is a suitable transfer function that assigns optical characteristics to the data. Finding a suitable transfer function is a challenging task. We present two highly interactive methods that facilitate this process. We also present a method for interactive direct volume rendering on ubiquitous low-end graphics hardware. This method, called ShellSplatting, is optimised for the rendering of bony structures from CT data and supports the hardware-assisted blending of traditional surface rendering and direct volume rendering. This characteristic is useful in surgical simulation applications. ShellSplatting is based on the object-order splatting of discrete voxels. As such, maintaining a correct back-to-front or front-to-back ordering during rendering is crucial for correct images. All existing real-time perspective projection visibility orderings show artefacts when splatting discrete voxels. We present a new ordering for perspective projection that remedies these artefacts without a noticeable performance penalty.Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Scienc
Materials on Studying Growth Dynamics of Chicken Intestine in Embriogeny
The growth dynamics of chicken intestine was studied in embryogeny in connection with the transition of the foetuses to intraintestinal nutrition. The formation of the wall of small intestine, and its topography by every five days are described. The irregularity of growth in all digestive system areas is noted. A slower growth is observed during the first 9 days of incubation when tissues are laid and formed. On the ninth day the intestine begins functionning, and after that a quick growth of all its areas is observed. The author suggests to devide the development of the intestine in embriogeny into 2 stages — prefunctional and the functional one

Evidence-based librarianship, action research and design thinking as theoretical and methodological frameworks for library and information studies
[[alternative]]The Study on Habitats and Conservation Strategy of Isoetes taiwanensis DeVol.
[[abstract]]The major purpose of this research project was to investigate the original and several ex-situ conservation habitats of quillworts in Taiwan , include the dream lake ,the Lengshuikeng wetland and Thu-tzu-hu. We focus on the hydrology and water quality of the Lengshuikeng wetland , located in Yangmingshan National Park, and try to transplant the endemic species quillworts or Taiwan isoetes (Isoetes taiwanensis DeVol). It has been regarded as a potential site for replanting Isoetes due to its acid water quality. Based on on-site investigations, the wetland can maintain wet year-round. The nutrients are sufficient to the submerged plant. In order to enhance the natural function and replanting performance, it is suggested that the wetland could be devide into two major part or make some channel around the wetland to control water level and sand input. For the conservation for Isoetes, Ocadia sinenesis must be isolated out of the water region of Isoetes.
Inviding of terraneous vegetation and changing of hydrological character in the dream lake are the serious problem to influence quillwort surviving. Isoetes planted in Zhu-tzu-hu should complete its life-cycle , but still need some management. To constructe a new artifical wetland seems to be a effective strategy for conservation of Isoetes taiwanesis.

Hvad gør de med faglighed og køn? - interview med studerende på et humanistisk studium
The article interprets professianlism and gender in mothertongue studies in higher education and research. The interpretation is based on a close reading of interviews with students who are in their second year. Opinions on academic content and approach divide the students, who are writing their M.A. theses, into two groups: some students' pronouncements are accepting and general, while others are critical and specific in what they say. The opinions on teaching and research devide the students, who are on their second year, where few want more research in their learning, whereas most of the studens are unaware of research in the teaching. They prefer to learn to teach as proffessionals outside the university. Some of the women can tell how their choises to teach outside the university are despised in mothertongue studies in higher education. Theoretically and methodologically the author of this article is inspired by social constructivists and thinking beyond binarities by poststructuralism and postfeminist theories
