Branching fraction and CP asymmetry of the decays B+→K0Sπ+ and B+→K0SK+
An analysis of B+ → K0
Sπ+ and B+ → K0
S K+ decays is performed with the LHCb experiment. The pp
collision data used correspond to integrated luminosities of 1 fb−1 and 2 fb−1 collected at centre-ofmass
energies of
√
s = 7 TeV and
√
s = 8 TeV, respectively. The ratio of branching fractions and the
direct CP asymmetries are measured to be B(B+ → K0
S K+
)/B(B+ → K0
Sπ+
) = 0.064 ± 0.009 (stat.) ±
0.004 (syst.), ACP(B+ → K0
Sπ+
) = −0.022 ± 0.025 (stat.) ± 0.010 (syst.) and ACP(B+ → K0
S K+
) =
−0.21 ± 0.14 (stat.) ± 0.01 (syst.). The data sample taken at
√
s = 7 TeV is used to search for
B+
c
→ K0
S K+ decays and results in the upper limit ( fc · B(B+
c
→ K0
S K+
))/( fu · B(B+ → K0

)) <
5.8 × 10−2 at 90% confidence level, where fc and fu denote the hadronisation fractions of a ¯b
quark
into a B+
c or a B+ meson, respectively

Stems erect, 50–120 cm tall, simple or branched below, sparsely pubescent to subglabrous. Leaves subrosulate, alternate; petiole 0.5–4 cm long, subglabrous; leaf blade linear-lanceolate, 3–15 cm long, 0.5–1.5 cm broad, adaxially green, sparsely hispidulous, abaxially gray-green, sparsely hispid along veins, base cuneate, margin subentire to pinnatipartite, apex obtuse. Flowers often solitary and terminal on main stem and branches. Calyx tube adnate to whole hypanthium, semiglobose, 10-ribbed, subglabrous; calyx lobes narrowly deltoid, 0.4–0.8 cm long, 0.2–0.3 mm broad, glabrous, margin entire, sometimes sparsely serrate, apex acute; sinus between lobes broad and truncate. Corolla broadly campanulate, 1–2 cm long, 1.5–2 cm wide, lobed to near one third, red-purple with dark purple veins, and white on apex of corolla lobe, glabrous on both sides with sparsely hispidulous margin. Stamens glabrous; filaments 0.3–0.5 cm long, slightly dilated at base; anthers ca. 3 mm long. Capsule semiglobose below, conical above. Two characteristic energies in the low-energy magnetic response of the electron-doped high-temperature superconductor<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><mml:mrow><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mtext>Nd</mml:mtext></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mn>2</mml:mn><mml:mo>−</mml:mo><mml:mi>x</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mtext>Ce</mml:mtext></mml:mrow><mml:mi>x</mml:mi></mml:msub><mml:msub><mml:mrow><mml:mtext>CuO</mml:mtext></mml:mrow><mml:mrow><mml:mn>4</mml:mn><mml:mo>+</mml:mo><mml:mi>δ</mml:mi></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:mrow></mml:math>
Neutron scattering for Nd2-xCexCuO4+delta(x approximate to 0.155, T-c=25 K) reveals two distinct magnetic energy scales in the superconducting state: omega(1)approximate to 6.4 meV and omega(2)approximate to 4.5 meV. These magnetic energies agree quantitatively with the B-1g/B-2g and A(1g) features observed in electronic Raman scattering, where the former is believed to indicate the maximum superconducting gap and the origin of the latter has remained unexplained. The data are inconsistent with previous claims of the existence of a magnetic resonance mode near 10 meV, but consistent with a resonance at omega(2) and with the recently established universal ratio of resonance energy to superconducting gap in unconventional superconductors [G. Average current is better than peak current as therapeutic dosage for biphasic waveforms in a ventricular fibrillation pig model of cardiac arrest
OBJECTIVE:
Defibrillation current has been shown to be a clinically more relevant dosing unit than energy. However, the effects of average and peak current in determining shock outcome are still undetermined. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between average current, peak current and defibrillation success when different biphasic waveforms were employed.
METHODS:
Ventricular fibrillation (VF) was electrically induced in 22 domestic male pigs. Animals were then randomized to receive defibrillation using one of two different biphasic waveforms. A grouped up-and-down defibrillation threshold-testing protocol was used to maintain the average success rate of 50% in the neighborhood. In 14 animals (Study A), defibrillations were accomplished with either biphasic truncated exponential (BTE) or rectilinear biphasic waveforms. In eight animals (Study B), shocks were delivered using two BTE waveforms that had identical peak current but different waveform durations.
RESULTS:
Both average and peak currents were associated with defibrillation success when BTE and rectilinear waveforms were investigated. However, when pathway impedance was less than 90Ω for the BTE waveform, bivariate correlation coefficient was 0.36 (p=0.001) for the average current, but only 0.21 (p=0.06) for the peak current in Study A. In Study B, a high defibrillation success (67.9% vs. 38.8%, p<0.001) was observed when the waveform delivered more average current (14.9±2.1A vs. 13.5±1.7A, p<0.001) while keeping the peak current unchanged.
CONCLUSION:
In this porcine model of VF, average current was better than peak current to be an adequate parameter to describe the therapeutic dosage when biphasic defibrillation waveforms were used. The institutional protocol number: P0805
Measurement of the ratio of branching fractions B(B0→K∗0γ )/B(B0s→φγ ) and the directCP asymmetry inB 0→K∗0γ
The ratio of branching fractions of the radiative B decays B0→K⁎0γ and B0s→ϕγ has been measured using an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of s√=7TeV. The value obtained is
B(B0→K⁎0γ)B(B0s→ϕγ)=1.23±0.06(stat.)±0.04(syst.)±0.10(fs/fd),
where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic uncertainty and the third is associated with the ratio of fragmentation fractions fs/fd. Using the world average value for B(B0→K⁎0γ), the branching fraction B(B0s→ϕγ) is measured to be (3.5±0.4)×10−5.
The direct CP asymmetry in B0→K⁎0γ decays has also been measured with the same data and found to be
ACP(B0→K⁎0γ)=(0.8±1.7(stat.)±0.9(syst.))%.
Both measurements are the most precise to date and are in agreement with the previous experimental results and theoretical expectations

the penguin contributions affecting the sin 2β measurement from B

branching fraction is measured to be B(B
0
s
→ J/ψK
0
S
) = (1.83±0.28)×10−5
. This is the most precise
measurement to date

Ordered mesoporous Co3O4 (3D) and the bulk counterpart Co3O4 (B) were prepared by a nanocasting route and precipitation method, respectively. Pd was next loaded on both of them by an impregnation method. All catalysts were tested for the total oxidation of o-xylene in the temperature range of 150-300 C. Mesoporous Co3O4 (3D) exhibited better activity than Co3O4 (B), and Pd addition further improved the catalytic activity of both the mesoporous and bulk Co3O4. The BET and TEM results indicated that the mesoporous catalysts had uniform channel dimensions and the mesostructure was little affected by Pd addition. The TPR and XPS data indicated that Pd was much more exposed on the surface of Co3O4 (3D) than that of Co3O4 (B). TPD results showed that Pd/Co3O4 (3DL) could activate the oxygen species more easily than Pd/Co3O4 (BL). Therefore, Pd/Co3O4 (3DL) presented the best activity among the four catalysts and achieved 90% conversion of 150 ppm o-xylene at 249 degrees C at a space velocity of 60,000 mL g(-1) h(-1).
