Natural energy source that is known so far is from wind, water and sun. For a natural energy source of water is known mainly energy stream. Source of water power from ocean waves flow is still very little attention. In this paper the author will address the source of natural energy from tidal currents and waves of the sea, which turned out to potential and can be very rewarding. Evidence of the influence of natural energy resources of the sea wave currents expressed here are: The influence of ocean currents in the spatial form of Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan, which is an average of 0.16 meters below sea level. Due to the low position and very gently sloping, inclined flat, located at the mouth of the river, then the hundreds of large and small rivers flow through the city encountered, so that the life of the population is strongly influenced by the natural conditions. Proven for example with urban spatial structure formed by water transport networks and tenuous housing arrangement, as a result of the condition of the city is split by hundreds of rivers. The first part of this paper addresses the influence of tidal currents on the city located at the mouth of the river, with examples of Banjarmasin City. Part Two presented the benefits to be gained from the pounding waves of the ocean currents, to develop power generation by the power of ocean waves and very simple currents sea water distillation. This equipment has been developed by the Lecturers of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, led by Ir. Rahmad Samosir, MT and exhibited in SMESCO KRENOV FAIR 2014 in Jakarta, and won the championship for the third inter-university inovativ work in Greater Jakarta

Water is one of the main needs of living things, especially humans who need clean water for drinking, bathing, washing and other purposes. However, many regions have difficulties to get clean water, especially people who live on the beach, thus many experts try to process seawater into clean water which is worth drinking. One of the ways to process salt water into fresh water is by distillation. In this research, the author tries to distill water with the help of condenser. In this research, the author made an evaporation chamber of 80 cm x 100 cm x 30 cm. Through the use of solar-powered blower, vapor is inhaled from the evaporation chamber, therefore the pressure on the evaporation chamber will fall, so that the evaporation will occur much faster and the resulting vapor can be supplied to the condenser for cooling. From the test result using variation of blower rotation of 2800 rpm, 2200 rpm, and 1200 rpm, each condensate water produced from the distillation process are 215 ml/h, 410 ml/h, and 250 ml/hr. The condensate resulted from the highest rotation (2800 rpm) produces less condensate, thus based on our observation, we temporarily conclude that it occurs because there is water vapor coming out from the condensate, but more accurate research is needed to confirm it. Condensate of 410 ml/hour is still not as expected, thus this research will be continued in order to reach the expected result

The rise of Islamic civilization since the 6 th century up to the 18 th century is a historical fact that can not be negated. Starting from the establishment of the State of Medina by the Prophet Muhammad until the Ottoman Dinasty. The course of history that sustained over centuries, has a significant influence on the development of Islamic civilization, at least in terms of taxation which commonly called as kharâj. In the hands of Islam, was created a various principles of the state, especially on the financial and monetary aspect. The creation of financial system for the state is one of proof for the creation of the state’s basic principles in order to achieve justice and prosperity of mankind. This paper aims to discuss in-depth analysis related to the concept of taxation in Islam through literature method. In order to obtain deeper analysis, the author chose two characters who was concerns in the field of taxation in the history of Islamic Economic thought, namely Yahya bin Adam in his al-Kharâj and Imam al-Mawardi in his al-Ahkâm al-Sultâniyah. The conclusion from this study is that there are some similarities between the two ideas. On the other hand, according to the author, Imam al-Mawardi’s theory of taxation has two advantages; first, his futuristic theory of taxation and second, his contextual theory of taxation that possible to be applied in the present time. Given the complexity of the problems that occurred during his life

Public Distrust and Environmental Citizenship: Primary Impetuses of Radical Protest in Bima District, 2011-2012

    No full text
This article aims to show how the social movement was conducted in the framework of claiming a number of aspects of citizenship, especially environmental rights and political participation, to the local government. The refusal of FRAT Bima over the extractive policy of the Government of Bima District during 2011-2012 becomes a reflective context of the type of social movement with such a framework. This social protest should be explored further because it used acts of vandalism on some public facilities as the chosen way to fight against the environmental and political injustices. Through a case study, the author aims to explore the sequence of repertoires which were applied sequentially by FRAT Bima’s social protest as well as to examine its linkage with environmental citizenship and public distrust. Despite being closely related to citizens' awareness about environmental citizenship, the occurrence of this anarchist movement was also triggered by the low level of "formal legitimacy" of the local government as a seed of public distrust towards the intentions of environmental governance policy that was about to be applied to make the agricultural land owned by villagers as the site of a certain project of mineral extraction. The lack of the government’s formal legitimacy, which was supported by the growing awareness of environmental citizenship, has led the sequential application of conventional and non-conventional strategies in the demands articulation of FRAT Bima. This sequence of repertoires was held due to the low-level of government's responsiveness in accommodating the public claims about the cancellation of an undemocratic environmental policy

Populism in Indonesia has been a crucial political phenomenon in recent decades, rooted in the nation's socio-political history. This article examines the historical context, core elements, and blind spots in prior research on Indonesian populism by analyzing 107 scholarly works published between 2001 and 2024 in the Scopus database. The findings reveal that Indonesian populism has evolved through various phases, from anti-colonial nationalist movements to contemporary digital populism, where social media plays a central role in mobilizing mass support and amplifying identity-based political narratives. The author identifies seven core elements shaping Indonesian populism, including its domains, antecedents, mobilization channels, and political consequences. The author also highlights blind spots in previous studies, specifically the limited focus on local-level populism, the long-term economic implications of populist policies, and the deepening societal polarization caused by digital populist discourse. By incorporating comparative perspectives with other Southeast Asian nations, this review broadens the understanding of populism’s regional dynamics. The findings contribute to academic discourse on populism and provide insights for policymakers in addressing the challenges posed by populist rhetoric and governance. Future research should explore empirical case studies on local populist movements and assess the impact of populist policies on democratic institutions in Indonesia
