    LOCAL WISDOM-BASED CHARACTER BUILDING THROUGH SOCIAL SCIENCE LEARNING IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

    This study was motivated by globalization progress, causing the Indonesian people to lose national character and leave local wisdom from generation to generation. Therefore, it is necessary to have character building for students amidst technological advances so that the character traits of students can be applied in everyday life. One of the learning activities with character education is a social science, especially at the elementary school level. This study aimed to analyze the local wisdom-based character building through social science learning in elementary schools. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research method. Based on the results, the local wisdom-based character education through social science learning in elementary schools had to apply 18 character traits defined by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Elementary schools include local wisdom values in their learning plans and apply them to thematic learning

    Kearifan lokal tradisi marosok adalah salah satu tradisi unik di Sumatera Barat. Tradisi ini dikukuhkan sebagai Warisan Budaya Tak Benda oleh Kementerian Pendidikan & Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia tahun 2020. Akibat globalisasi, tradisi marosok mulai tidak dikenali oleh generasi usia sekolah. Padahal, dalam tradisi tersebut terdapat nilai-nilai karakter entrepreneurship pedagang Minangkabau. Penelitian ini ingin mengangkat tradisi masyarakat sebagai konten pendidikan IPS sekaligus melestarikan kearifan lokal warisan masyarakat Minangkabau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengembangan model Transformative Learning berbasis kearifan lokal marosok yang efektif menguatkan karakter entrepreneurship peserta didik. Pendekatan penelitian adalah kualitatif dan pengembangan dengan metode etnografi Spradley dan Research and Development Borg&Gall. Metode pengumpulan data ialah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, tes dan angket. Tempat penelitian pasar ternak Palangki Kabupaten Sijunjung dan enam sekolah untuk uji terbatas dan uji luas. Hasil temuan penelitian: 1). Nilai kearifan lokal tradisi marosok menjadi identitas pedagang ternak di Minangkabau dan nilai karakter entrepreneurship pedagang ternak: jujur, etos kerja, berani ambil resiko, kreatif, bertanggung jawab, gigih, cerdik, dan tenggang rasa; 2). Penelitian ini menemukan model pembelajaran transformative learning berbasis kearifan lokal marosok melalui tahapan FGD, pengujian ahli, uji terbatas dan uji luas. 3). Efektivitas model pembelajaran model transformative learning berbasis kearifan lokal marosok pada pembelajaran IPS ditinjau berdasarkan hasil uji terbatas dan uji luas efektif memberi penguatan karakter entrepreneurship peserta didik di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Simpulan penelitian ini bahwa penerapan model transformative learning berbasis kearifan lokal marosok mampu menguatkan karakter entrepreneurship peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMP/sederajat. Adanya penelitian lanjutan dengan fokus yang berbeda diharapkan mengokohkan keberadaan model ini. The local wisdom of the Marosok tradition is one of the unique traditions in West Sumatra. This tradition was recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2020. Due to globalization, the Marosok tradition has begun to be unrecognized by the school-age generation. However, this tradition contains entrepreneurial character values of Minangkabau traders. This research aims to bring forth the community tradition as content for social studies education while preserving the local wisdom of the Minangkabau heritage. The study aims to describe the development of a Transformative Learning model based on the local wisdom of Marosok that effectively strengthens the entrepreneurial character of students. The research approach is qualitative and developmental, using the ethnographic method of Spradley and Research and Development by Borg & Gall. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The research was conducted at the Palangki livestock market in Sijunjung Regency and six schools for limited and broader testing. The research findings are: 1) The values of local wisdom in the Marosok tradition become the identity of livestock traders in Minangkabau, and the entrepreneurial character values of these traders include honesty, work ethic, risk-taking, creativity, responsibility, persistence, cleverness, and tolerance; 2) This research discovered a transformative learning model based on the local wisdom of Marosok through stages such as Focus Group Discussion, expert testing, limited testing, and broader testing; 3) The effectiveness of the transformative learning model based on the local wisdom of Marosok in social studies education, as viewed from the results of limited and broader testing, effectively strengthens the entrepreneurial character of students in the experimental class more than in the control class. The conclusion of this research is that the application of the transformative learning model based on the local wisdom of Marosok can strengthen the entrepreneurial character of students in social studies education at junior high schools or equivalent levels. Further research with a different focus is expected to solidify the existence of this model

    The focus of this study is generally analyzing educational inequality in rural or rural areas during COVID-19. Specifically analyze the factors of educational inequality and solutions to overcome the educational inequality of rural areas or the mass country of COVID-19. Research attachment using qualitative research, data collection methods are facilitated from participant observation, in-depth interviews and document data collection. The results of this study showed the factors that caused the inequality of Education in Nagari Sisawah Sijunjung Regency during the Covid-19 period was a). condition of Nagari Sisawah area located in depth, b). Nagari Sisawah is one of the areas that are not reachable by cellular networks and internet networks making it difficult for students to learn online, c). Not all children have school support equipment or media or online lectures, d). The difficulty of determining learning methods for children who attend school in Nagari Sisawah. Solutions to overcome education inequality in Nagari Sisawah Sijunjung district are analyzed from solutions provided by the government, schools and parents who synergize to alleviate educational inequality in Nagari Sisawah during the Covid-19 pandemic so that education continues to be carried out and running well.  Indonesia mengalami tekanan akibat bencana Covid-19. Ancaman yang terjadi mengakibatkan terganggunya aktivitas dari segala sektor kehidupan terutama pada sektor pendidikan. Sektor pendidikan diharuskan untuk melakukan pembelajaran secara daring. Fokus penelitian ini adalah menganalisis faktor ketimpangan pendidikan pada masa Covid-19 di Nagari Sisawah Kabupaten Sijunjung dan solusi mengatasi ketimpangan tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data dimulai dari observasi partisipan, wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Analisis data diawali dengan pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penjayian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya ketimpangan adalah: 1) Kondisi wilayah Nagari Sisawah yang terletak dipedalaman. 2) Nagari Sisawah merupakan salah satu daerah yang tidak terjangkau jaringan seluler dan jaringan internet, sehingga menyulitkan siswa untuk belajar daring. 3) Tidak semua anak memiliki peralatan atau media penunjang sekolah atau kuliah daring. 4) Sulitnya menentukan metode pembelajaran untuk anak-anak yang bersekolah di dalam Nagari Sisawah. Dari temuan tersebut, solusi untuk mengatasi ketimpangan yaitu melakukan kerjasama dengan berbagai pihak terutama pihak pemerintah, sekolah dan orangtua untuk peningkatan kualitas pendidikan.     PENYELAM LOKAN DI DESA TANAH REKAH KABUPATEN MUKOMUKO TAHUN (2015-2025)

    This study aims to examine the community of Lokan divers in Tanah Rekah Village, Mukomuko Regency. The research problem focuses on why many residents became Lokan divers in 2015 and the impact of this livelihood on “the social and economic life of the community from 2015-2025. Lokan diving has been a part of the local community's life since the 1980s and saw a significant increase in 2015, following a decline in the price of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) of oil palm”, which was the community's primary commodity. Lokan diving was chosen as an alternative livelihood because it does not require a large capital, and Lokan has high economic and cultural value in the region. “The research method used is the historical method, with stages including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Data were collected through observation, interviews with divers, and documentation studies”. The findings indicate that Lokan diving activities have a significant economic and social impact on the community, such as increased daily income and the formation of social solidarity within families and the community. However, since 2022, this activity has begun to decline due to the threat of crocodile attacks in the Selagan River, which has caused fear among the divers.

    The period of social, economic and political transition is closely related to the collapse of the Suharto regime and the reformtion. This condition is signed by various kinds of conflicts , starting in the national and local political arena. Political propaganda at that time occured when the country was still in the authoritarian and centralistic spirit of the Suharto government. In fact, local actors and national politics are moving the issue to take power. This study focuses on the analysis of Indonesia democratic struggles in the dynamics of identity politics, the practice of identity politics during the New Order era was given the space in carrying out the movements and compared to the reformation period in Riau Province and the process of strengthening identity politics in the local sphere in Riau Province. This study used literature study in analyzing with sociological and historical theory. The results of this study showed that identity politics in Riau Province during the New Order and Reformation eras was different. During the New Order era, identity politics had no space and local people were shifted or removed, while during the reformation period, identity politics was open and expanded the contents of local people to become leader so it emerges the conflicts and presenting cases at the local level. This study brings out the term symbolic power in the local democratic process and carries the value of the nationalism spirit in local communitie

    This study aims to describe the design of the inquiry model in history subjects on the material of imperialism and colonialism at SMAN 2 Pulau Punjung, Dhamasraya Regency. As well as knowing the application in learning using the inquiry model of students in class XI F 1 of SMA Negeri 2 Pulau Punjung on the material of imperialism and colonialism. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of history teachers and 22 students of class XI F 1. The focus of the research is on how this inquiry model can encourage the way students think critically both in groups and individually. The results of this study that the application of the inquiry model can improve students' ability to think critically, this approach emphasizes the process of searching and discovering knowledge by students actively through questions, exploration, and investigation, this approach also increases curiosity and improves students' communication and collaboration skills. From the results of the interview describes the classroom atmosphere becoming more dynamic, students' understanding of the material increases, and they are better able to relate historical events to the context of current life. The application of the inquiry model also requires researchers to act as facilitators, not simply as transmitters of material, so that the learning process becomes more meaningful and contextual.

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimna faktor dan proses perubahan tata guna lahan terhadap dinamika sosial ekonomi yang terjadi pada masyarakat Kecamatan Koto Tangah Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik dalam menentukan informan menggunakan teknik snowball sampling, yakni tanpa menentukan kriteria informan, sehingga jumlah informan akan selalu bertambah sesuai dengan kebutuhan informasi apda masyarakat koto tangah tentunya. Teknik dalam pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisa data yang digunakan melalui tiga tahapan kerja yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Pengabsahan data yang digunakan adalah triangulasi.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1). Faktor yang menjadi implikasi perubahan tata guna lahan  terhadap  perubahan sosial ekonomi masyarakat kecamatan koto tanggah adalah hasil lahan pertanian dengan daya jual lahan yang membandingkan keinginan untuk peralihan fungsi lahan, (2) Dampak perubahan sosial ekonomi yang terjadi pada mayarakat akibat implikasi perubahan tataguna lahan terbagi atas dua dampak dampak positif dan negatif diantaranya meningkatnya sistim perekonomian masyarakat di kecamatan koto tangah menjadi masyarakat sejahtera terbukanya lapangan pekerjaan baru/ mata pencaharian yang baru dan stratifikasi sosial yang semakin tinggi, serta semakin tumbuhnya kesadaran masyarakat dalam meninggkatkan mutu di bidang pendidikan, politik dan kebudayaan. Kebudayaan hal ini meliputi pola hidup dan pergaulan serta gaya hidup modern sehingga mengikisnya budaya-budaya lokal seperti gotong royong sudah mulai berkurang.

    This study discusses the value of local wisdom in women's empowerment in Songket Pandai Sikek. Songket woven fabric craftsmen who still use the traditional method have decreased significantly, because there are non-machine looms or ATBMs that can produce songket for a maximum of 4 days, which previously took 40 days, while the purpose of this research is to describe the value of local wisdom. in Women's Empowerment in Songket clever Sikek in Jorong Tanjuang Nagari Pandai Sikek District X Koto Tanah Datar. The theory used is the theory of rational choice by James S. Coleman. Then the research method used a qualitative approach with descriptive type, the informants consisted of 27 people who were determined by purposive sampling. The types of data are primary and secondary data. Data were collected through observation, interviews and document research. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that local wisdom can be seen from the first: the motifs used in the clever sikek songket weaving process using the theme of the surrounding nature, second: The ability of the craftsmen to be open to various changes is one way to develop the art of Pandai Sikek weaving

    This research is motivated by the presence of Covid-19 which has an impact on all fields including education. The purpose of this study was to describe students' perceptions of history learning during the Covid-19 class XI IIS SMA Negeri 3 Mukomuko. The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis. The research location is in SMA Negeri 3 Mukomuko, Mukomuko district. The data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that: 1) Students' perceptions of the history learning method during the Covid-19 period at SMA Negeri 3 Mukomuko were students found it difficult to understand the material with the history learning method used by the teacher during face-to-face meetings. Likewise with online learning, because when learning online, teachers send assignments more often than explain the subject matter. 2) Students' perceptions of History learning media during the Covid-19 period at SMA Negeri 3 Mukomuko were students did not understand the subject matter delivered using the assignment method via cellphone with the Whatsapp platform media. This means that the teacher's efforts in using the History learning method during the Covid-19 period exist, but are not maximized. The teacher uses two media here where Whatsapp is an interactive media and Powerpoint is an audio-visual medium
