Oral history interview with Shafa Chaudhry
During the walkouts, Shafa Chaudhry, was a 7th grade Geography teacher. She was at the end of her second year at a district she really loves and a school she considers to be like extended family. Her first concern when she first heard rumors and then heard from her local union president (who also works in the same building) that the strike was happening was losing her job and pay, especially since she was a second year teacher. Luckily, her superintendent was very supportive with paid leave for teachers, support staff, and even providing custodial staff with hours to ensure their hourly pay does not end. The administrators in her school and the superintendent also joined teachers in striking at a busy intersection and in OKC. She perceived it as a very organized strike. However, she did note that by the second week, the momentum was waning amongst colleagues, parents, students and general public. Nevertheless, she did say that she gained so much in terms of connections with teachers across grade levels and across buildings that definitely gave her the encouragement to continue the strike and make the commute despite living more than an hour away. She does wish that in the future there would be more transparency in terms of the planning and what was leading up to the strike amongst all teachers (not just union representatives).She also wants people to remember that the strike was for equity, it was not a vacation for teachers, and that these efforts were done with selfless intentions; with current and future generations in mind.The 2018 Oklahoma Education Walkouts Oral History Collection is a series of interviews with teachers who participated in the 2018 walkouts across Oklahoma to better understand its impact on the teachers and to establish a record for future generations to understand this historic event from the perspective of the people who made it happen
Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Peserta Didik pada Materi Peluang
Students' problem solving skills are very important for everyone who will apply them both in other fields of study and in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mathematical problem solving abilities of class VIII students in the 2021/2022 academic year. The sample in this study was class VIII students totaling 16 students who were taken randomly at one school in Karawang. This research is a descriptive research, while the data collection technique is done by giving 3 questions about the mathematical problem solving ability test. After the mathematical problem solving ability test is done, students will be divided into 3 categories, namely high, medium, and low. The results of the analysis in this study state that indicator 1 is in the medium category with a percentage of 68.75%, then the second indicator is in the medium category with a percentage of 50%, and the third and fourth indicators are in the low category with a percentage of 31.25% and 18.75 respectively. %. The average mathematical problem solving ability of students is 42.18% and is included in the medium category. The conclusions obtained in this study are that the average ability of students on the material opportunity is in the moderate category, especially in its application, other difficulties faced by students are found when students have not been able to understand the problems in questions or in the concept of arithmetic operations.Kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik sangatlah penting untuk semua orang yang akan menerapkannya, baik dalam bidang studi lain di luar matematika maupun dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik kelas VIII tahun ajaran 2021/2022. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas VIII berjumlah 16 peserta didik yang diambil secara acak pada salah satu sekolah di Karawang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif sedangkan Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian soal tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis sebanyak 3 (tiga) soal. Setelah dilakukan tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis, peserta didik akan dibagi menjadi 3 (tiga) kategori yaitu tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil analisis pada penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa pada indikator pertama berkategori sedang dengan presentase 68,75%, lalu indikator kedua berkategori sedang dengan presentase 50%, dan indikator ketiga dan keempat berkategori rendah dengan masing-masing presentase yaitu 31,25% dan 18,75%. Adapun rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik sebesar 42,18% dan termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Simpulan yang didapat pada penelitian ini adalah rata-rata kemampuan peserta didik pada materi peluang masuk pada kategori sedang terutama dalam penerapannya, kesulitan lain yang dihadapi peserta didik ditemukan Ketika peserta didik belum mampu memahami permasalahan pada soal ataupun pada konsep operasi hitung
KESANTUNAN BERBAHASA DALAM NOVEL 172 DAYS KARYA NADZIRA SHAFA
Penelitian ini berjudul "Kesantunan Berbahasa dalam Novel 172 Days karya Nadzira Shafa). Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah kesantunan berbahasa yang digunakan dalam novel. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penulis mengkaji novel 172 Days karya Nadzira Shafa untuk mengetahui prinsip-prinsip kesantunan berbahasa yang ada dalam buku tersebut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan analisis terhadap kesantunan berbahasa yang ada dalam novel 172 Days karya Nadzira Shafa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah tuturan yang terdapat dalam Novel 172 Days Karya Nadzira Shafa. Teknik Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik telaah pustaka, teknik analisis, dan teknik dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa prinsip kesantunan berbahasa tuturan dalam Novel 172 Days Karya Nadzira Shafa ditemuka (1) adanya pematuhan prinsip kesantunan berbahasa dalam Novel 172 Days Karya Nadizra Shafa berjumlah 42 data tuturan dengan persentase 89% (2) adanya pelanggaran prinsip kesantunan berbahasa dalam Novel 172 Days Karya Nadizra Shafa berjumlah 5 data tuturan dengan persentase 11%
Analisis pesan moral dalam novel 172 Days karya Nadzira Shafa
Penelitian ini memaparkan tentang analisis Pesan Moral dalam novel 172 days karya Nadzira Shafa yang di dalamnya terdapat masing-masing bagian. Pesan moral dalam penelitian ini berupa pesan atau ajaran baik dan buruknya perilaku secara lisan ataupun tulisan. Novel ini merupakan karya Nadzira Shafa yang merupakan jenis novel fiksi berjumlah 241 halaman. Pokok permasalahan pada penelitian ini yaitu, Apa sajakah bagian pesan moral yang ada di dalam novel 172 days karya Nadzira Shafa. Dalam penelitian bertujuan untuk memaparkan ataupun menjelaskan bagian yang ada di dalam pesan moral novel 172 days karya Nadzira Shafa dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa novel 172 days karya Nadzira Shafa terdapat 3 jenis bagian, di antaranya yaitu; bagian hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan ada 4 bagian, bagian hubungan manusia dengan dirinya sendiri ada 6, dan terakhir bagian hubungan manusia lain dalam lingkungan sosial ada 3 bagian
Three Faces of Shafa. Land Ownership on Trial in Ningarhar
L’étude de Qasimabad, un district urbain, de Shahidano Meena, un district semi-urbain, et Achin à Shinwari, un district rural, dans la province de Ningarhar, permet d’analyser le rôle du shafa (droit coutumier et islamique du voisinage) dans l’accaparement foncier (land-grabbing) et, par extension, dans le développement tant urbain que rural. L’échec des différentes autorités et institutions en charge des questions foncières dans la région de Jalalabad, dans un contexte d’urbanisation rapide, ont conduit les populations concernées à régler leurs différends sur la base d’arrangements informels, par le recours au droit de shafa, et en recourant au ‘land-grabbing’. L’article dégage les usages contradictoires du shafa pratiqués par les différents acteurs du processus d’urbanisation et par les politiques publiques de la ville.A study of three districts in the Ningarhar Province – Qasimabad, Shahidano Meena, and Achin in the Shinwar District - urban, semi-urban and rural districts respectively – provides an analysis of the role of shafa (customary and Islamic religious law relating to neighboring properties) in land seizures (or ‘land grabbing’) and, by extension, in rural and urban development. In the contemporary period of rapid urbanization, the failure of the authorities and institutions charged with land management in the Jalalabad region has prompted the population to turn to informal arrangements, through shafa law and ‘land grabbing’, to resolve their conflicts. This article illustrates the contradictory implementation of the shafa neighboring-land principle by the various actors involved in processes of urbanization and urban planning
Kosmologi Ikhwan al-Shafa’
This article is an attempt to examine and restructurize Ikhwan al-Shafa’s cosmological views. People’s perception of nature developing in the 10th century was that the nature was viewed in a more holistic approach. Nature is perceived as spiritualmetaphysic and material entity. This kind of approach is relevant to the current context after for centuries modern science, especially modern cosmological concept, has neglected spiritual-metaphysical dimension of the nature, and has only recognized the physical-material dimension of the nature. Therefore, over centuries teh meaning of nature has been reduced and this has led to inappropriate treatment toward nature. The author argues that the current perception of nature which neglects spiritual dimension has led to global environment crisis. Therefore, the holistic Ikhwan al-Shafa’s cosmological perspective is worth and relevant to current needs of humankind. Nilai-Nilai Religius dalam Novel 172 Days Karya Nadzira Shafa
The formulation of the problem in this research is what are the religious aspects contained in the Novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa. The aim of the research is to obtain an accurate, complete, detailed and in-depth understanding of the description of the religious aspects contained in the Novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa. The research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method which aims to describe the religious aspects contained in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa. The data analysis technique that the researcher carried out was a document/content analysis technique with steps: 1) quotations containing religious aspects in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa which had been collected were identified based on religious aspects, 2) quotations containing religious aspects grouped into one, 3) each classification of the same religious aspect is analyzed further to be described, 4) describes the religious aspects contained in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa, 5) analyzes and interprets the data by connecting the data with the theoretical basis exists to be formulated into conclusions, 6) draw conclusions. From the research results, it can be concluded that 1) the religious values contained in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa have 4 religious values, namely the relationship between humans and their God, the relationship between humans and themselves, the relationship between humans and other humans, and the relationship between humans and themselves. natural. 2) based on the results of the discussion about moral values above in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa, it can be concluded that moral values include 4 types, namely with a total of 157 data which includes 65 data of human relationships with God, 27 data of human relationships with themselves, Human relations with other humans 64 data, and human relations with nature 2 data
KONSEP PENDIDIKAN IKHWAN AL-SHAFA DAN RELEVANSINYA DENGAN DUNIA POSTMODERN
Abstract: The Ikhwan al-Shafa is an organization established by a group of people (mujtahidin) consisting of philosophers, who focused their attention on the field of da'wah and education, that developed at the end of the second century Hijrah in the city of Basra, Iraq. It is a discussion and teaching forum. In general, its emergence is motivated by concerns about the implementation of Islamic teachings that have been contaminated by teachings from outside Islam at that time, and to revive love for science among Muslims. They compiled 51 agreements known as the "Rasail Ikhwan al-Shafa" (Ikhwan al-Shafa agreement). The background of Rasail Ikhwan al-Shafa writing came from dissatisfaction with the implementation of the Islamic education and lifestyle at that time. This organization viewed education with a rational and empirical view, or a combination of intellectual and factual views. They viewed science as a description of something that could be known in nature, the knowledge produced by human thought occurs because it receives information materials sent by the five senses. Some of the Ikhwan al-Shafa's concepts or thoughts about education have an urgent relevance to education that is applied in the current postmodern era. Whether it's how to get knowledge, teacher competency standards, goals, curriculum and methods that are used.
