Implementation of the Education For All Concept in Islamic Educational Institutions
Education plays a crucial role in human life. However, throughout history, the condition of education in several countries has faced various challenges, particularly in terms of equity and quality. The concept of Education for All emerged as a global initiative to ensure that every individual has access to education without discrimination, regardless of race, social status, or background. This concept strongly aligns with the principles of Islamic education, which emphasise equality, justice, and equal opportunities for learning. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Education for All concept in Islamic educational institutions, both theoretically and practically, and to contribute to the development of literature on inclusive education. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with library research as its method. The findings indicate that the principles of Education for All—such as equality, openness, quality, inclusion, and sustainability—are highly relevant to Islamic education. Its implementation within Islamic educational institutions strengthens their role in promoting equitable access to education and enhancing the quality of human resources.
Comparison of the Concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs in the Perspectives of Al-Ghazali and Buya Hamka
This article aims to compare the thoughts of Al-Ghazali and Buya Hamka on tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul) and identify the steps taken by both in forming a spiritually pure personality. This study uses a qualitative method with a comparative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out through a literature review of Al-Ghazali\u27s major works, namely Ihya\u27 Ulumuddin and Bidayatul Hidayah, as well as Buya Hamka\u27s Tafsir Al-Azhar, supplemented with other supporting literature. Data analysis was carried out using a descriptive-qualitative approach to examine each figure\u27s approach to the concept of spiritual purification. The results of the study show that Al-Ghazali describes three stages of tazkiyatun nafs: takhalli (emptying oneself of bad traits), tahalli (adorn oneself with good morals), and tajalli (witnessing the presence of Allah). Meanwhile, Buya Hamka offers five steps: befriending good people, using reason wisely, controlling desires and anger, thinking before acting, and knowing oneself. Although they have different approaches, both emphasise the importance of moral and spiritual dimensions in the process of purifying the soul
THE IMPACT OF VIRTUAL LABORATORIES ON DEVELOPING INTEGRATIVE CONCEPTS BETWEEN MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE AMONG EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS
This study aimed to investigate the impact of virtual laboratories on developing integrative concepts between mathematics and science among eighth-grade students. The research adopted an experimental design with three equivalent groups: the first experimental group studied mathematics using virtual laboratories, the second experimental group studied science using virtual laboratories, and the control group studied using the traditional method. The sample consisted of 83 eighth-grade students from basic education schools in Duhok Governorate for the academic year 2024-2025. The researchers prepared an integrative concepts test consisting of 18 items distributed equally across three concept elements (definition, discrimination, application). The results revealed statistically significant differences between the three groups in the post-test of integrative concepts in favor of both experimental groups, with no significant difference between the two experimental groups themselves. Additionally, both experimental groups showed significant improvement in their integrative concepts understanding from pre-test to post-test. The effect sizes were large, confirming the educational importance of these differences. Based on these findings, the researchers recommended providing the necessary infrastructure for implementing virtual laboratories in schools, training teachers to use them effectively, and developing curriculum materials that highlight the connections between mathematics and science concepts. The study suggested conducting further research on the impact of virtual laboratories on other educational aspects and in different educational stages
The Use of the Wordwall Application to Improve the Mastery of Thaharah Material for Grade IV Students at UPTD SDN 15 Parepare
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Wordwall application as an interactive gamified medium in enhancing fourth-grade elementary school students\u27 mastery of thaharah material in Islamic Religious Education at UPTD SDN 15 Parepare. Employing a quantitative experimental approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design, the research involved 26 students as participants. Data were collected through pretest and posttest instruments to measure conceptual understanding and practical application of thaharah, supplemented by observation sheets to assess student engagement during three learning sessions. Data analysis included descriptive statistics, normality testing, paired sample t-tests (both two-tailed and one-tailed), and N-Gain calculations. The results revealed a significant improvement in mastery, with the mean score increasing from 58.92 in the pretest to 90.46 in the posttest, supported by a paired t-test value of 10.261 and a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). The average N-Gain score of 0.72 indicated high improvement, while observation data showed effectiveness rising from 57% (sufficient) to 93% (very good). These findings demonstrate that Wordwall significantly enhances cognitive mastery, motivation, and active participation, aligning with Piaget\u27s constructivism theory and Mayer\u27s Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. This study fills a research gap by providing empirical evidence on Wordwall\u27s effectiveness in elementary-level thaharah instruction through face-to-face learning. Despite its contributions, limitations include a small sample and lack of a control group, suggesting the need for future research with broader samples and more comprehensive designs
Strategies of Darul Muttaqin Mosque Management in Addressing The Misuse of Mosque Facilities as a Sleeping Area
The Darul Muttaqin Mosque has encountered a phenomenon that has become a concern, namely the misuse of mosque facilities, particularly the use of the mosque as a sleeping area by some students. Although the mosque\u27s primary purpose is for worship and religious activities, the phenomenon of students sleeping in the mosque has been occurring more frequently. This study aims to explore in depth the strategies employed by the management of the Darul Muttaqin Mosque to address the misuse of mosque facilities, specifically regarding the issue of sleeping in the mosque. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, involving in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The theoretical framework used is Henry Mintzberg’s (1939) Strategic Management Theory. The findings indicate that mosque management faces challenges in maintaining the sanctity and primary function of the mosque as a place of worship. The misuse of mosque facilities, particularly the use of the mosque as a sleeping area, often occurs due to a lack of ethical awareness and discipline among visitors. Although the mosque management has made efforts to reprimand visitors sleeping in inappropriate areas, these efforts often fail to yield consistent results. Therefore, a more systematic and participatory approach is needed to address this issue
The Crisis of Meaning in the Age of Meaning: A Literature Review of Semantic Disorders in Social Media
The digital era has fundamentally changed the pattern of human communication. One of the significant impacts of this change is the occurrence of a crisis of meaning in online interactions, triggered by the semantic bending in the use of language on social media. Phenomena such as memes, irony, and remix culture also accelerate the process of shift and ambiguity of meaning. This article aims to examine the literature on meaning disorders that occur in the digital space, especially on social media. With the literature study method, the author examines theories of meaning, digital language, and the phenomenon of memes as a form of bending meaning. The results of the study show that social media contributes to semantic crises through the production of meanings that are contextual, fragmented, and often ironic. This article also highlights the urgency of semantic literacy and digital communication ethics as a response to the crisis of meaning in the post-truth era

This study aimed to explore and identify the orchids diversity in the Kubu Perahu Forest section of Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park. The observation was conducted along the hiking trails of Sepapah Kiri Waterfall, which has a 2.375 m length and about 568-876 masl. An exploratory method was conducted to collect primary and environmental data. A total of 16 genera were recorded, dominated by epiphytic orchids, with Agrostophyllum and Pinalia as the most abundant genera. Preservation of natural orchid species is needed by cultivation and increasing the exsitu conservation of orchids
Coaching-Based Academic Supervision for junior High School Teachers: From Planning to Evaluation and performance Improvement
This study examines the planning, implementation, and evaluation of coaching-based academic supervision as an effort to improve teacher performance at the junior high school level. Employing a descriptive qualitative design, the study involved 12 participants consisting of school principals, teachers, and school supervisors. Data were collected over a three-month period through observation, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis using purposive sampling. Data analysis followed an interactive model comprising data reduction, data display, and verification, supported by restatement, analytical description, and interpretation to capture patterns, relationships, and meanings within the supervision process. The findings reveal that (1) supervision planning is systematically conducted at the beginning of the academic year through deliberation, needs analysis, goal formulation, instrument preparation, and scheduling; (2) the implementation of coaching-based academic supervision follows three stages—pre-observation, classroom observation, and post-observation—emphasizing reflective dialogue and collaborative interaction; and (3) evaluation results are utilized to refine supervision programs, address teachers’ instructional challenges, and adjust coaching strategies to support continuous professional development. Overall, the study concludes that coaching-based academic supervision contributes to improved teacher performance through participatory planning, structured and supportive implementation, and reflective evaluation that fosters professional growth and sustainable instructional improvement
A Multi-modal HOTS-Oriented Worksheet Based on the PISA Reading Framework: Development and Validation Study in Middle School
This study developed and validated a digital multimodal student worksheet that integrates Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and the PISA reading literacy framework for Indonesian middle school reading instruction. Although HOTS and literacy outcomes are emphasized in curriculum policy, teachers still have limited access to classroom-ready worksheets that systematically operationalize PISA cognitive processes (locating information, understanding, and evaluating/reflecting) within a single coherent learning tool. Addressing this gap, the study employed a Research and Development approach using the ADDIE model to design an LKPD that maps national competencies to PISA-oriented reading tasks supported by multimodal texts (e.g., infographics and charts). The product was reviewed by expert validators and piloted with seventh-grade students in a classroom setting. Validation results indicated that the LKPD met high standards of didactic, constructional, and technical quality and that the accompanying assessment items were appropriate for eliciting higher-order reading responses. The try-out data further showed that the LKPD can function diagnostically by revealing students’ recurring challenges in inferential comprehension and information integration, while also supporting engagement with evaluative and reflective prompts through multimodal task design. Overall, the findings suggest that the developed LKPD is a valid and feasible tool for implementing HOTS-oriented, PISA-aligned reading activities and for informing instructional decisions based on students’ domain-specific reading profiles. Future studies should examine broader implementation across diverse school contexts and evaluate learning impact over sustained use
ANALYSIS OF THE STRATEGY OF THE HEAD OF MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH NURUL ISLAM ALAI IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LEARNING
This study aims to analyse the quality management strategies implemented by the Head of Madrasah Tsanawiyah Nurul Islam Alai to enhance learning effectiveness. The topic was chosen due to the critical role of leadership in improving educational quality, particularly in madrasahs that often face challenges such as low learning outcomes, limited use of innovative methods, and insufficient supervision. A descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the madrasah head, direct observations, documentation studies, and secondary sources such as relevant journals and books. Data analysis involved source criticism, data organisation, and conclusion synthesis. The findings reveal that the madrasah head applied Total Quality Management (TQM) strategies, focusing on improving learning facilities, teacher training, and collaboration with parents. Active community participation through regular meetings and communal activities served as key supporting factors. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure and a shortage of teaching staff hindered programme optimisation. To address these issues, the madrasah head submitted proposals for government assistance and recruited teachers from nearby schools. Positive impacts of these strategies included increased student engagement, better material comprehension, and enhanced teaching quality. The study concludes that visionary leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and participatory approaches are pivotal to successful educational quality management. These findings provide practical insights for madrasahs in designing adaptive quality improvement strategies, though contextual considerations are necessary for broader generalisation
