    Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penyiangan yang dilakukan terhadap koleksi buku dengan kriteria rusak ringan, serta jumalah eksampalr yang tidak terlalu banyak. Prosedur penyiangan koleksi di Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan yaitu dengan melakukan penyianga setiap hari saat melakukan kegiatan shelving dimana masing-masing pustakawan yang bertugas memiliki tanggung jawab terhada koleksi buku di rak yang yang telah di tentukan, kemudian melaporkan data hasil penyiangan kepada kepala Dinas Perpustakaan. Buku yang disiangi dipisahkan terlebih dahulu dari koleksi yaitu dengan menyimpan dibagian rak paling bawah sebelum dibawa ke bagian pemeliharaan bahan pustaka. Adapun kendala yang dihadapi yaitu terkendala dalam masalah tempat pelestarian bahan pustaka yang sempit sehingga tidak mampu menampung semua koleksi yang sudah disiangi, kurangnya sumber daya manusia (SDM) pada bagian pelestarian bahan pustaka dan terkait dengan kurangnya dana sehingga buku yang telah disiangi tdiak dapat secara lanngsung dilakukan perbaikan atau pemeliharaan

    Effectiveness of Using English Module Through Implementation Poster Presentation Aided Vlog To Improve Student Learning Outcomes Information of Students Information System at UPI "YPTK" Padang

    This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use English modules through the implementation of poster presentations assisted by vlog to improve student learning outcomes in the Information Systems Department at UPI YPTK Computer Science Faculty in Padang. The method used is a mixed method, which combines quantitative and qualitative methods. To achieve the research objectives, the researchers used quasi-experimental design, which involved two groups of participants (control and experimental) in academic year 2017/2018 students majoring in Information Systems, with a purposive sampling technique by taking pre-test, treatment and posttest. The research data were analyzed using the one-sample t-test. The results of the data analysis showed that the pretest and post test scores of the experimental group showed significant differences, while the control group did not show significant differences. This research shows the results that the use of English modules through the implementation of poster presentations assisted by vlog is more effective in improving students’ learning outcomes than those not using the modul

    Kegiatan ini diusulkan dengan pertimbangan bahwa pada umumnya siswa pemula cenderung menyukai kegiatan belajar dengan tindakan dan gerakan yang berbeda. Masalah lainnya yang ditemui ialah siswa biasanya mudah bosan dengan aktifitas pemebelajaran setelah 10 menit dan menyebabkan rentang perhatian pendek dan kurangnya daya ingat. Berdasarkan permasalahan diatas, maka tim pengabdian masyarakat ingin memotivasi siswa untuk belajar bahasa Inggris dengan metode yang menarik dan tentunya disukai oleh siswa yaitu Spelling Bee. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan sebagai umpan balik dari tindakan analisis kebutuhan yang telah dilakukan oleh tim pengabdi terhadap siswa MTSN 7 kota Padang. Diharapkan setelah kegiatan ini terlaksana, siswa mampu mengetahui bakat dan minat belajar di sekolah akan kebutuhan bahasa Inggris yang mana bisa diaplikasikan dalam kegiatan sehari-hari.This activity was proposed based on consideration that most of young learners tend to use learning activity with action and different movement. Another problem was students usually get bored easily with learning activities after 10 minutes and cause short attention spans and a lack of memory. Based on the problems above, the lecturers’ team wanted to motivate students to learn English with an interesting method, that is Spelling Bee. This activity was carried out as a feedback from the needs survey that had been carried out by the lecturers’ team to students of  MTSN 7 Padang. It is hoped that students will be able to find out their talents and interest in learning English which can be applied in daily activities

    VALIDITY ASSESSMENT OF OF ENGLISH LEARNING MODULE INTEGRATED WITH POSTER PRESENTATION AND VLOG

    Assessing validity is an essential process in designing a module. This research is a part of on-going research in developing an English learning module for students in Information system department integrated with poster presentation and Vlog techniques. This present study aims at evaluating the validity of the module. Five validators are used to assess the same module. The value of the validation is calculated by using V Aiken (1985). The results shows that the experts’ validation in the module has an average score of validation of 0.889 in the Content component, a score of 0.893 in the Language Understanding component, a score of 0.900 in the Presentation component and a score of 0.833 in the Writing Mechanics component, thus all components are is considered to have a high average validation score from the validation standard score of 0.677 thus the English learning module developed has been valid and can be used with few revision

    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Realistic Mathematics Education Based on Virtual Network in Increasing the Understanding of Geometry Concept

    This article was to improve the understanding of elementary school students' geometry concepts through the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) model that assisted by virtual nets. This research was classroom action research. This research was conducted in two cycles where each cycle had two meetings. The research subjects were the fifth grade students. In this study two cycles were carried out where if the first cycle had not yet reached the specified indicators. It would be improved in the next cycle or the second cycle. Data collection techniques used tests and observations in each cycle. In the second cycle it was felt that the target had been reached, so that the study would end until the second cycle. At the pre-cycle stage obtained a classical percentage of 50%, the first cycle obtained a percentage of 70% and in the second cycle increased by 100%. Thus the researcher concludes that through the RME model assisted by virtual nets can improve the understanding of geometrical concepts of elementary school students.     English Teaching Profiles at Islamic of Elementary Schools in Kuranji - Padang

        The design of this research was descriptive qualitative that to draw about  English teaching profiles at Islamic of Elementary Schools in Kuranji – Padang. The researcher takes three schools by using purposive sample. They were Islamic State of Elementary schools Korong Gadang, Islamic State of Elementary School Gunung Sarik and Private Islamic State of Elementary School Sungai Sapih. The respondents consisted of three English teachers and the headmasters. In gathering the data, the researcher did observation and interview as instruments. In analyzing the data, the resercher followed two ways, namely; pure analysis and analytic. Pure analysis and analytic in order to describe the data naturally and connect it to the theory. The findings of this research showed that the English teachers at Elementary School should graduate from English pedagogical, because of that the teacher have to good techniques in teaching. In spite of the English teachers must able to prepare the suitable media with the material. The English teachers also use  good methods and evaluation to increase the students' achievement.   &nbsp

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
