have been involved in a wide variety of opportunities from .Athletics
to Marine Biology to the Hine Arts. This year we sent two
different groups to Seattle, Washington for band and baseball. 7t has
been exciting to see our students benefit from the different
experiences provided by our staff.
Another exciting part of our school year included seeing Myers'
students experience so much success academically. This success
translates into opportunities for them to pursue their lifelong
dreams at employment they desire or colleges and universities that
they may choose to attend.
7t is always impressive to see how successful our students are at
the endeavors they embark on. Students at our school truly make
Myers a wonderful place to be each day.
Thank you so much for the journey we have all experienced
together this year.

Effect of enhanced homestead food production and aquaculture on dietary intakes of women and children in rural Cambodia: A cluster randomized controlled trial
No full textThe Cambodian diet is low in nutrient-dense animal-source foods. Enhanced homestead food production (EHFP) and aquaculture, which increase availability of nutrient-dense foods, are promising interventions to improve dietary intake. This study examined the effect of EHFP with or without aquaculture on dietary intake and prevalence of inadequate intake of select nutrients among women and children living in rural Cambodia, compared to controls. In a registered, cluster randomized controlled trial in Prey Veng, Cambodia, 10 households in each of 90 villages (n = 900) were randomized by village to receive EHFP, EHFP plus aquaculture, or control. After 22-month intervention, 24-hr dietary recalls (24HRs) were collected from mothers aged 18-50 years (n = 429) and their children aged 6 months-7 years (n = 421), reported by their mothers. Usual intake distributions (generated using 24HRs and repeat 24HRs on a subsample) were used to estimate prevalence of inadequate intake. Compared to controls, women in the EHFP group had significantly higher zinc (+1.0 mg/d) and Vitamin A (+139 retinol activity equivalents/d) intakes, and women in the EHFP plus aquaculture group had significantly higher iron (+2.7 mg/d), Vitamin A (+191 retinol activity equivalents/d), and riboflavin (+0.17 mg/d) intakes. Women in the EHFP plus aquaculture group also had significantly lower prevalence of inadequate iron (-7%, at 10% bioavailability), Vitamin A (-19%), and riboflavin (-17%) intakes, compared to controls. No significant differences in intakes or nutrient adequacy were observed among children or between EHFP and EHFP plus aquaculture groups. Is the Chinese Investment- and Export-Led Growth Model Sustainable? Some Rising Concerns
No full textChina’s rapid growth and success in poverty reduction over the last three decades has inspired world-wide admiration. This paper uses a simple framework with a Kaleckian flavor to analyze structural developments in the Chinese economy, and to understand some of the distributional consequences. Some of the possible sources of these distributional developments are then further analyzed using a trade-theoretic approach. Other aspects of China’s investment- and export-led growth strategy are discussed along with the problems that the focused pursuit of such a strategy has raised. We conclude that China’s growth model may now have outlived its utility, both on economic and socio-political grounds. JEL Categories:

Dan komt Luuk met een ontbloot bovenlijf de kamer uit en Joost ziet een pakje lege condooms op het nachtkastje liggen. Kelly kijkt verschrikt op naar Joost. Het is duidelijk dat de jongeren seks hebben gehad op de leefgroep. Wat kan Joost nu het beste doen? Moet hij Kelly en Luuk straf geven? Of,is dit gezond seksueel gedrag en is het accepteren en het onderwerp seks bespreekbaar maken passender in deze situatie

Like all others everywhere, I suppose, we have been affected by the present
world unrest, some way or other. We opened the year 1940-1941 with some hesi-tance,
diffidence, fear, lack of security; but with a great deal of faith, hope,
optimism, and confidence in the future.
To begin with, the blackouts and the alarming warning signals, which happened
to coincide with the opening of our classes, seemed at first to deal a fatal blow to
our work. The girls complained that their people objected to their hoing out in
the dark and returning to their homes at nine o'clock or after. Both boys and
girls complained that enemy aircraft seemed to choose the hour at which their
classes met, or at least the alarming signal happened to be at that hour, and hence
the lecture periods were dangerous hours. Three times we left the lecture rooms
and hurriedly took our students to the cafeteria room for shelter. finding that
this method wasted our time, and exhausted our patience, we decided to give it
up, particularly when one night we were shut in until 10 p.m. and there was no
means of taking the students home, due to lack and irregularity of communication.
Finally we decided to use the black curtains in the Physics amphitheatre during
the signal. This too, proved extremely impracticable as it meant poor ventilation
in a comparatively small room for over sixty students.
It took time, persuasion, encouragement, and appeal to the sense of bravery
to overcome the difficulty. Two factors helped things to come to normal. In the
first place the students' zeal and willingness to study had much to do with
smoothing rough edges and minimizing handicaps. In the second place no actual
raids took place in Cairo.
Before the difficulty of blackouts and alarm signals, we had encountered
the difficulty of staff. Every effort made to find an American on our staff, or
outside, to teach "Educational Method" was futile. Finally we decided to engage
Dr. Stanley Jackson of the Ministry's Institute of Education. The negotiations
of the President with Dr. Jackson finally resulted in what seemed a perfect agree-ment.
But no sooner had this taken place, than a problem suddenly arose - The
Ministry's authorization. First the Ministry refused despite the recommendation
of the Dean of the Institute and the protest of Dr. Jackson. Then an appeal was
made by the President to the Minister of Education himself. At last authorization
was given to Dr. Jackson to teach only half the time we had asked for.
Under the cirumstances we had to look for another person. Several notices
were inserted in the Egyptian Gazette, but only two British ladies replied, from
whom we chose Mrs. Bateman, formerly of the Ministry of Education. The syllabus
had to be divided between the two in such a way as to avoid overlapping. Both
carried on their work systematically in a way that left no room for complaints
on the part of the Students. Mrs. Bateman was the "realistic" teacher, the strict

Physics Letters B, 740, 83-104. doi:10.1016/j.physletb.2014.11.026A search is performed in proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV for exotic particles decaying via WZ to fully leptonic final states with electrons, muons, and neutrinos. The data set corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 19.5 fb(-1). No significant excess is observed above the expected standard model background. Upper bounds at 95% confidence level are set on the production cross section of a W boson as predicted by an extended gauge model, and on the W'WZ coupling. The expected and observed mass limits for a W' boson, as predicted by this model, are 1.55 and 1.47 TeV, respectively. Stringent limits are also set in the context of low-scale technicolor models under a range of assumptions for the model parameters. (C) 2014 The Authors. Search for diphoton resonances in the mass range from 150 to 850 GeV in pp collisions at root s=8 TeV

The analysis is based on a 19.7 fb(-1) sample of proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The diphoton mass spectrum from 150 to 850 GeV is used to search for an excess of events over the background. The search is extended to new resonances with natural widths of up to 10% of the mass value. No evidence for new particle production is observed and limits at 95% confidence level on the production cross section times branching fraction to diphotons are determined. These limits are interpreted in terms of two-Higgs-doublet model parameters. (C) 2015 CERN for the benefit of the CMS Collaboration. No full textModel risk in the estimation of value-at-risk is a challenging threat for the success of any financial investments. The degree of the model risk increases when the estimation process is constructed with a portfolio in the emerging markets. The proper model should both provide flexible joint distributions by splitting the marginality from the dependencies among the financial assets within the portfolio and also capture the non-linear behaviours and extremes in the returns arising from the special features of the emerging markets. In this paper, we use time-varying copula to estimate the value-at-risk of the portfolio comprised of the Bovespa and the IPC Mexico in equal and constant weights. The performance comparison of the copula model to the EWMA portfolio model made by the Christoffersen back-test shows that the copula model captures the extremes most successfully. The copula model, by estimating the portfolio value-at-risk with the least violation number in the back-tests, provides the investors to allocate the minimum regulatory capital requirement in accordance with the Basel II Accord.Time-varying Copula; portfolio value-at-risk; Latin American equity markets; portfolio GARCH
