Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Il multilinguismo appare come un’urgenza educativa che interpella studiosi e formatori a tutti i livelli al fine di promuovere nei giovani un apprendimento consapevole efficace ed autonomo.Multilingualism constitutes an urgent objective for education, which needs to involve teachers and researchers at all levels if we are to promote effective and autonomous learning in the young. Like Daniela Zorzi, the author considers herself a socially engaged linguist, and in memory of her friend’s work, offers a reflection on the key roles of languages and cultures and of multilingualism for professional success and social welfare today
Reclamações ambientais em Aveiro, Portugal: atores, preocupações, padrão territorial e resoluções
No full textThis paper presents an environmental diagnosis based on public complaints on environmental
issues submitted to the Environmental Department of the Aveiro City Council, Portugal, between
2000 and 2005. It discusses the potential influences of these in local environmental planning
and governance. The paper has been organised into five sections. The first of these introduces
the study. The second section focuses on the conceptual approaches relating to environmental
grassroots movements, the main actors involved in these movements and the role played by
local government. It also contains a brief review of the most recent urban environmental
quality challenges in the European context together with a description of the main features of
the associated political and legal framework in Portugal. The third section describes the case
study and the methodology used. The results of the empirical study are detailed in the fourth
section. The final section critically analyses these results with emphases on the temporal
evolution of the submission of complaints, the actors involved, the local environmental problems
and their associated spatial pattern as well as the responses given by the City Council. This
information may then be used to provide a useful indicator for the perception of environmental
quality as well as a credible instrument for the visualisation and evaluation of local performance

The question of whether Daniel is a historical or just a literary figure is important because it influences the exegesis of the text of the Book of Daniel. No full textResumen: Daniela Parisi analiza el impacto de la vida de San F rancisco de Asís desde la perspectiva de la historia del pensamiento económico. Haciendo referencia particularmente a la atención otorgada en los círculos franciscanos a los signos de los tiempos, la autora traza el camino desde la vida de San Francisco, pasando por la vida de la Orden hasta el presente, y revela los orígenes del movimiento franciscano como un intento de reforma social y religiosa. En primer lugar, el artículo presenta la vida que llevó San Francisco como una “pobreza material voluntaria” en el contexto de los cambios socio-económicos que tuvieron lugar en el siglo XIII, con el advenimiento de la sociedad comercial. Luego, explica cómo la propuesta de San Francisco creció hasta convertirse en una orden religiosa. Finalmente, el artículo intenta iluminar aquellos aspectos en que la Orden Franciscana puede todavía considerarse un signo de los tiempos a través de una existencia comprometida con la pobreza, eliminando lo superfluo de nuestra vida y viviendo en consonancia con el Evangelio.Abstract: Daniela Parisi analyses the impact of the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, from the perspective of the history of economic thought. By referring in particular to the attention given in Franciscan circles to the signs of times, the author draws the path from Saint Francis’s life to the life of the Order until the present, and reveals the origins of the Franciscan movement as an attempt for social and religious reformation. First, the article presents St. Francis’s life of a “voluntary material poverty” in the context of the social and economic changes that took place in the XIII century, with the rise of the commercial society. Then, the author explains how St. Francis’ proposal grew into an Order. Finally, the article aims at illuminating the aspects in which the Franciscan Order can be still considered a sign of the times by living the commitment to poverty and minority, eliminating the superfluous from our lives and living close to the Gospel
Uma análise das obras da literatura surda infantil do Brasil
No full textTrabalho de conclusão de curso (graduação)—Universidade de Brasília, Instituto de Letras, Departamento de Linguística, Português e Línguas Clássicas, 2016.Este trabalho versa sobre literatura infantil, literatura surda, cultura surda e os tipos de produção escrita para e pelo o povo surdo. Esses itens são seções que delineiam temas como identidade, representatividade, diversidade, resiliência, empoderamento, valorização da língua de sinais brasileira e escrita de sinais, com o objetivo de, a partir dessa discussão, analisar o que já foi produzido e publicado por editoras, além de, tratando-se de materiais bilíngues e trilíngues na linha da Literatura Surda Brasileira, analisar quem são os autores – se são surdos ou ouvintes –, quais foram os gêneros textuais mais prestigiados, o ano de publicação e o tipo de produção – tradução, adaptação ou criação –. Para a metodologia de pesquisa e a análise de dados dessas obras, fez-se um recorte temporal, delimitado pela própria investigação, do ano de 1999 a 2015; obtendo como resultado números interessantes e inesperados em relação às questões levantadas.This article expoun on children's literature, deaf literature, deaf culture and the types of production written by and for deaf people. These items are sections that outlined issues such as identity, representativity, diversity, resilience, empowerment, appreciation of the Brazilian sign language and written signs, with the aim of, from that discussion consider what has already been produced and published by publishers, plus, in the case of bilingual and trilingual materials in line of the Brazilian deaf literature, who are the authors - if they are deaf or hearing - which were the most prestigious textual genres, year of publication and the type of production - translation, adaptation or creation -. For the research methodology and data analysis of these works, was made a time frame, delimited by the investigation, from 1999 to 2015; obtaining as a result interesting and unexpected numbers in relation to the issues raised
Terminologia da Língua de Sinais Brasileira : léxico visual bilíngue dos sinais-termo musicais – um estudo contrastivo

no Centro de Estudos Lexicais e Terminológicos (Centro Lexterm), no Laboratório de
Linguística de Língua de Sinais (LabLibras) e no Núcleo de Estudo e Pesquisa da Variação
Linguística da Libras (Núcleo Varlibras) da Universidade de Brasília (UnB). O objeto de estudo
são os termos dos instrumentos musicais da área da Música na Língua de Sinais Brasileira
(LSB), a criação de sinais-termo musicais, assim como sua respectiva validação. O objetivo
principal deste trabalho é o de criar um Léxico Visual Bilíngue da área da Música que atenda a
duas línguas, o português e a LSB. Para o desenvolvimento da obra lexicográfica e
terminográfica, fundamentamos a criação e a constituição de sinais-termo de acordo com os
seguintes níveis linguísticos: fonologia, morfologia, semântica-pragmática e sintaxe. Os
procedimentos metodológicos adotados foram: i) seleção dos termos em português para a
criação dos sinais-termo da área da Música; ii) recolha dos recursos visuais do Léxico Bilíngue
para apresentá-los ao grupo de pesquisa; iii) discussão no grupo de pesquisa sobre os conceitos
dos termos escolhidos em português para a criação dos sinais-termo da área da Música; iv)
criação dos sinais-termo da área da Música; v) gravação em vídeo e registro em foto dos
verbetes do Léxico Visual Bilíngue; vi) armazenamento dos sinais-termo em mídias digitais; e
vii) validação dos sinais-termo da área da Música. Realizamos, ainda, a análise de duas obras
lexicográficas, cujos sinais musicais fossem a base do roteiro. Para isso, utilizamos o modelo
de avaliação de dicionários e glossários científicos e técnicos elaborada por Faulstich (2011).
Também realizamos uma análise contrastiva dos níveis linguísticos de dois sinais do léxico
comum da área musical de outros países com os sinais-termo equivalentes criados em nossa
pesquisa. A partir dessas etapas, organizamos o Léxico Visual Bilíngue dos sinais-termo
musicais – um modelo terminográfico que apresenta a imagem, o termo e o sinal-termo dos
instrumentos musicais. Como recurso adicional, utilizamos o Qr Code para disponibilizar a
visualização dos sinais-termo por meio de vídeos. Com esta obra, desejamos tornar acessível
um material de consulta direcionado, em especial, aos alunos Surdos que estudam Música,
professores e tradutor e intérprete de Línguas de Sinais (TILS).This thesis insert into the research line referent to Lexicon and Terminology. It was developed
at the Center for Lexical and Terminological Studies (Centro Lexterm), in the Sign Language
Linguistics Laboratory (LabLibras) and in the Study Core and the Libras Linguistic Variation
Research (Varlibras Core) in the University of Brasília (UnB). The object of study is the terms
of musical instruments of the Music area in the Brazilian Sign Language (LSB), the creation of
musical signs-term, just like your respective validation. The objective main of this work is the
to create a Bilingual Visual Lexicon of the music area that meets two languages, the Portuguese
and the LSB. For the development of the lexicographic and terminographic work, we base the
creation and constitution of signs-term wake up with the following linguistic levels: phonology,
morphology, semantic-pragmatics and syntax. The methodological procedures adopted were:
i) selection of terms in Portuguese for the creation of signs-term of the Music area; ii) collect
of the visual resources from the Bilingual Lexicon to present them to the research group; iii)
discussion in the research group about the concepts of terms chosen in Portuguese for the
creation of signs-term of the Music area; iv) creation of the signs-term of the Music area; v)
video recording and photo recording of entries in the Bilingual Visual Lexicon; vi) storage of
signs-term in digitals medias; and vii) validation of the signs-term of the Music area. We
performed, still, the analysis of two lexicographic works, whose musical signs were the basis
of the script. For this, we use the evaluation model of dictionaries and scientific and technical
glossaries elaborated by Faulstich (2011). We also performed a contrastive analysis of the
linguistic levels of two signs of common lexicon of the musical area of other countries with the
equivalent signs-term created in our research. From these steps, we organized the Bilingual
Visual Lexicon of musicals signs-term - a terminographic model that presents the image, term
and signs-term of musical instruments. As additional feature, we use the Qr Code to make
available the signs-term visualization for means of videos. With this work, we like to make
accessible a consultation material directed, in special, to Deaf students who study Music,

A forma da cidade e sua apropriação: análise propositiva de diretrizes de arquitetura da cidade para Cumbayá em Quito/Equador

Com base neste debate, elegemos critérios relacionados à apropriação nas escalas da estrutura da cidade e da configuração dos lugares, e procedeu-se à caracterização e análise da cidade contemporânea de Quito para verificar padrões espaciais diretamente associados com uma apropriação positiva da cidade na cultura quitenha. A partir dos critérios selecionados e dos padrões positivos identificados, lançamos diretrizes de projeto de arquitetura da cidade para uma área de expansão da cidade contemporânea de Quito no Equador - a Paróquia de Cumbayá - buscando responder a critérios de bom desempenho da forma urbana que potencializem a apropriação de seus espaços públicos.The research seeks to understand the relationship between the different forms that the city has acquired over time and contemporary forms of appropriation, based on a theoretical discussion of concepts and criteria of authors who discuss the performance of the form of the city in relation to the appropriation of public spaces. Based on this debate, we selected criteria related to appropriation, both at the scale of city structure and at the scale of place configuration, and proceeded to the characterization and analysis of the contemporary city of Quito in a search to identify spatial patterns directly associated with a positive appropriation of the city in Quito´s culture. The selected criteria and the positive patterns identified oriented the design guidelines here proposed for the architectural design of the Paróquia of Cumbayá - an area of expansion in the city of Quito, Ecuador - in an attempt to comply with the criteria of good urban form performance so as to enhance the appropriation of its public spaces
