    A bstract We present the first model-independent measurement of the CKM unitarity triangle angle ϕ 3 using B ± → D ( KS0 {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0 K S 0 π + π − π 0 ) K ± decays, where D indicates either a D 0 or D \overline{D} D ¯ 0 meson. Measurements of the strong-phase difference of the D → KS0 {K}_{\mathrm{S}}^0 K S 0 π + π − π 0 amplitude obtained from CLEO-c data are used as input. This analysis is based on the full Belle data set of 772 × 10 6 B B \overline{B} B ¯ events collected at the Υ(4 S ) resonance. We obtain ϕ 3 = ( 5.78.8+10.2 {5.7}_{-8.8}^{+10.2} 5.7 − 8.8 + 10.2 ± 3 . 5 ± 5 . 7) ° and the suppressed amplitude ratio r B = 0 . 323 ± 0 . 147 ± 0 . 023 ± 0 . 051. Here the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic, and the third is due to the precision of the strong-phase parameters measured from CLEO-c data. The 95% confidence interval on ϕ 3 is ( − 29 . 7 , 109 . 5) ° , which is consistent with the current world average

The CKM angle phi3 is the least well known of the angles of the unitarity triangle and the only one that is accessible with tree-level decays in a theoretically clean way. The key method to measure phi3 is through the interference between B+D0K+B^+\to D^0 K^+ and B+Dˉ0K+B^+ \to \bar D^0 K^+ decays which occurs if the final state of the charm-meson decay is accessible to both the D0D^0 and Dˉ0\bar D^0 mesons. To achieve the best sensitivity, a large variety of D and B decay modes is required, which is possible at Belle experiment as almost any final state can be reconstructed including those with photons. This presentation discusses the results from Belle as well as the ongoing studies. It also explains the details of the planned measurement at Belle II, a substantial upgrade of the Belle detector and will operate at the SuperKEKB energy-asymmetric e+ee^+ e^- collider.Presented at CKM 2018, On behalf of Belle Collaboratio

    Measurement of the time-integrated C ⁣PC\!P asymmetry in D0KK+D^0\to K^- K^+ decays

    The time-integrated C ⁣PC\!P asymmetry in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay D0KK+D^0\to K^-K^+ is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 fb1^{-1} collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. The D0D^0 mesons are required to originate from promptly produced D+D0π+D^{*+}\to D^0\pi^+ decays and the charge of the companion pion is used to determine the flavor of the charm meson at production. The time-integrated C ⁣PC\!P asymmetry is measured to be \begin{align*} \mathcal{A}_{C\!P}(K^-K^+) = \left[6.8 \pm 5.4 \text{ (stat)} \pm 1.6 \text{ (syst)} \right]\times 10^{-4}. \end{align*} The direct C ⁣PC\!P asymmetries in D0KK+D^0\to K^- K^+ and D0ππ+D^0\to\pi^-\pi^+ decays, aKK+da_{K^-K^+}^{d} and aππ+da_{\pi^-\pi^+}^{d}, are derived by combining AC ⁣P(KK+)\mathcal{A}_{C\!P} (K^-K^+) with the time-integrated C ⁣PC\!P asymmetry difference, ΔAC ⁣P=AC ⁣P(KK+)AC ⁣P(ππ+)\Delta \mathcal{A}_{C\!P} =\mathcal{A}_{C\!P} (K^-K^+)-\mathcal{A}_{C\!P} (\pi^-\pi^+), giving \begin{alignat*}{2} a_{K^-K^+}^{d} &= (\phantom{2}7.7 \pm 5.7) \times 10^{-4}, \end{alignat*} \begin{alignat*}{2} a_{\pi^-\pi^+}^{d} &= (23.2 \pm 6.1) \times 10^{-4}, \end{alignat*} with a correlation coefficient corresponding to ρ=0.88\rho=0.88. The compatibility of these results with C ⁣PC\!P symmetry is 1.4 and 3.8 standard deviations for D0KK+D^0\to K^- K^+ and D0ππ+D^0\to\pi^-\pi^+ decays, respectively. This is the first evidence for direct C ⁣PC\!P violation in a specific D0D^0 decay.The time-integrated CP asymmetry in the Cabibbo-suppressed decay D0→K-K+ is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7  fb-1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. The D0 mesons are required to originate from promptly produced D*+→D0π+ decays, and the charge of the companion pion is used to determine the flavor of the charm meson at production. The time-integrated CP asymmetry is measured to be ACP(K-K+)=[6.8±5.4±1.6]×10-4 where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The direct CP asymmetries in D0→K-K+ and D0→π-π+ decays, aK-K+d and aπ-π+d, are derived by combining ACP(K-K+) with the time-integrated CP asymmetry difference, ΔACP=ACP(K-K+)-ACP(π-π+), and other inputs, giving aK-K+d=(7.7±5.7)×10-4,aπ-π+d=(23.2±6.1)×10-4,with a correlation coefficient corresponding to ρ=0.88. The compatibility of these results with CP symmetry is 1.4 and 3.8 standard deviations for D0→K-K+ and D0→π-π+ decays, respectively. Abstract The first study of C ⁣PC\!P C P violation in the decay mode {{B} ^\pm } \rightarrow [{{K} ^+} {{K} ^-} {{\uppi } ^+} {{\uppi } ^-} ]_{D} h^\pm B ± → [ K + K - π + π - ] D h ± , with h=K,πh=K,\pi h = K , π , is presented, exploiting a data sample of proton–proton collisions collected by the LHCb experiment that corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 9fb19\text {\,fb} ^{-1} 9 \,fb - 1 . The analysis is performed in bins of phase space, which are optimised for sensitivity to local C ⁣PC\!P C P asymmetries. C ⁣PC\!P C P -violating observables that are sensitive to the angle γ\gamma γ of the Unitarity Triangle are determined. The analysis requires external information on charm-decay parameters, which are currently taken from an amplitude analysis of LHCb data, but can be updated in the future when direct measurements become available. Measurements are also performed of phase-space integrated observables for {{B} ^\pm } \rightarrow [{{K} ^+} {{K} ^-} {{\uppi } ^+} {{\uppi } ^-} ]_{D} h^\pm B ± → [ K + K - π + π - ] D h ± and {{B} ^\pm } \rightarrow [{{\uppi } ^+} {{\uppi } ^-} {{\uppi } ^+} {{\uppi } ^-} ]_{D} h^\pm B ± → [ π + π - π + π - ] D h ± decays

    Quantum-correlated measurements of D → K S0 π + π − π 0 decays and consequences for the determination of the CKM angle γ

Abstract We perform quantum-correlated measurements of the decay D → K S0 π + π − π 0 using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 0.82 fb−1 collected at the ψ(3770) resonance by the CLEO-c detector. The value of the CP -even fraction F + is determined to be 0.238 ± 0.012 ± 0.012. The strong-phase differences are also measured in different regions of K S0 π + π − π 0 phase space by binning around the intermediate resonances present. The potential sensitivity of the results for determining the CKM angle γ from B ± → D(K S0 π + π − π 0)K ± decays is also discussed

Search for CPCP violation with kinematic asymmetries in the D0K+Kπ+πD^0 \to K^+ K^- \pi^+ \pi^- decay

International audienceWe search for CP violation in the singly-Cabibbo-suppressed decay D0→K+K-π+π- using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 988  fb-1 collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- collider. We measure a set of five kinematically dependent CP asymmetries, of which four asymmetries are measured for the first time. The set of asymmetry measurements can be sensitive to CP violation via interference between the different partial-wave contributions to the decay and performed on other pseudoscalar decays. We find no evidence of CP violation
