Searches for neutral Higgs bosons in e+ e- collisions around s**(1/2) = 189-GeV

Measurement of the B0(s) lifetime and study of B0(s) - anti-B0(s) oscillations using D(s)l events
Lifetime and oscillations of B-s(0) mesons have been studied in events with a large transverse momentum lepton and a D-s of opposite electric charge in the same hemisphere, selected from about 3.6 million hadronic Z(0) decays accumulated by DELPHI between 1992 and 1995. The B-s(0) lifetime and the fractional width difference between the two physical B-s(0) states have been found to be: tau(Bs0) = (1.42(-0.13)(+0.14)(stat.) +/- 0.03(syst)) ps Delta Gamma(Bs0) /Gamma(Bs0) lt 0.46 at the 95% C.L. In the latter result it has been assumed that tau(Bs0) = tau(Bd0). Using the same sample, a limit on the mass difference between the physical B-s(0) states has been set: Delta m(Bs0) gt 7.4 ps(-1) at the 95% C.L. with a corresponding sensitivity equal to 8.1 ps(-1)

The tau lepton lifetime has been measured with the events collected by the DELPHI detector at LEP in the years 1991-1995. Measurement of the W pair production cross-section and W branching ratios in E+ E- collisions at S**(1/2) = 161-GEV to 209-GEV.
These final results on production cross-section measurements at LEP2 use data collected by the DELPHI detector at centre-of-mass energies up to 209 GeV. Measurements of total cross-sections, W angular differential distributions and decay branching fractions, and the value of the CKM element |Vcs| are compared to the expectations of the Standard Model. These results supersede all values previously published by DELPHI
Search for susy in the AMSB scenario with the DELPHI detector.
The DELPHI experiment at the LEP e + e- collider collected almost 700 pb-1 at centre-of-mass energies above the Z0 mass pole and up to 208 GeV. Those data were used to search for SUSY in the Anomaly Mediated SUSY Breaking (AMSB) scenario with a flavour independent common sfermion mass parameter. The searches covered several possible signatures experimentally accessible at LEP, with either the neutralino, the sneutrino or the stau being the Lightest Supersymmetric Particle (LSP). They included: the search for nearly mass-degenerate chargino and neutralino, which is a typical feature of AMSB; the search for Standard-Model-like or invisibly decaying Higgs boson; the search for stable staus; the search for cascade decays of SUSY particles resulting in the LSP and a low multiplicity final state containing neutrinos. No evidence of a signal was found, and thus constraints were set in the space of the parameters of the model
Measurement of spin correlations in tt production using the matrix element method in the muon+jets final state in pp collisions at √s=8 TeV
The consistency of the spin correlation strength in top quark pair production with the standard model (SM) prediction is tested in the muon+jets final state. The events are selected from pp collisions, collected by the CMS detector, at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 19.7 fb(-1). The data are compared with the expectation for the spin correlation predicted by the SM and with the expectation of no correlation. Using a template fit method, the fraction of events that show SM spin correlations is measured to be 0.72 0.08 (stat)(-013)(+015) (syst), representing the most precise measurement of this quantity in the muon+jets final state to date
Search for physics beyond the standard model in events with a Z boson, jets, and missing transverse energy in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV
A search is presented for physics beyond the standard model (BSM) in events with a Z boson, jets, and missing transverse energy (ETmiss). This signature is motivated by BSM physics scenarios, including supersymmetry. The study is performed using a sample of proton-proton collision data collected at √s=7 TeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.98 fb -1. The contributions from the dominant standard model backgrounds are estimated from data using two complementary strategies, the jet-Z balance technique and a method based on modeling ETmiss with data control samples. In the absence of evidence for BSM physics, we set limits on the non-standard-model contributions to event yields in the signal regions and interpret the results in the context of simplified model spectra. Additional information is provided to facilitate tests of other BSM physics models. © 2012 CERN
Searches for neutral Higgs bosons in e+e- collisions around √s = 189 GeV
Searches for neutral Higgs bosons in the Standard Model and the MSSM have been performed using data collected by the DELPHI experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 188.7 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 158 pb-1. These analyses are used, in combination with our results from lower energies, to set new 95% confidence level lower mass bounds on the Standard Model Higgs boson (94.6 GeV/c2) and on the lightest neutral scalar (82.6 GeV/c2) and neutral pseudoscalar (84.1 GeV/c2) Higgs bosons in a representative scan of the MSSM parameters. The results are also interpreted in the framework of a general two-Higgs doublet model
