    Uji Klinik Ramuan Jamu Imunostimulan Terhadap Fungsi Ginjal Dan Fungsi Hati

    Kunyit, temulawak dan temu mangga adalah tanaman obat yang secara terpisah atau digabung biasa digunakan masyarakat untuk meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh, mengurangi pegel linu dan menambah stamina.Diharapkan gabungan dari ketiga tanaman ini dapat meningkatkan efektifitasnya sebagai immunostimulan (meningkatkan daya tahan tubuh) sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian pada manusia dengan gangguan status immunologi.Tuberkulosis paru (TBC) merupakan salah satu penyakit infeksi kronis yang mengganggu sistem imun penderitanya, maka penelitian ini menggunakan penderita TBC dalam jumlah terbatas. Penelitian ini dilakukan di 3 tempat yaitu di Puskesmas Tawangmangu, Puskesmas Karangpandan dan Klinik Saintifikasi Jamu Balai Besar Penelitian dan Pengembangan Tanaman Obat dan Obat Tradisional dengan jumlah subyek sebanyak 32 orang. Subyek adalah penderita TBC yang masih menjalankan program pengobatan TBC metode DOTS, dan selama penelitian subyek diharuskan tetap melaksanakan pengobatan TBC tersebut. Subyek dibagi menjadi 2 kelompok yaitu kelompok uji dan kelompok kontrol. Semua kelompok tetap diharuskan melanjutkan pengobatan TBC, namun kelompok uji diberikan bahan uji jamu immunostimulan sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak diberikan bahan uji.Semua subyek dinilai kadar IFN g, hematologi lengkap serta fungsi hati dan fungsi ginjal untuk memantau keamanan. Hasil penelitian terhadap keamanan jamu secara subyektif tidak ditemukan keluhan tambahan, tidak ada tanda-tanda keracunan akut, dan secara laboratoris tidak ada Perubahan bermakna nilai-nilai hematologi rutin, fungsi hati dan fungsi ginjal. Hal ini berarti menandakan bahwa ramuan jamu untuk immunostimulan aman digunakan

    Keanekaragaman Genetik Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.) Berdasarkan Marka Inter-Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR)

    Tempuyung (Sonchus arvensis L.) merupakan tanaman anggota familia Asteraceae yang banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai tumbuhan obat untuk menurunkan tekanan darah tinggi dan peluruh air seni. Tempuyung mudah dan banyak dijumpai di berbagai tempat di Indonesia. Keanekaragaman genetik tempuyung merupakan informasi dasar dalam rangka mendukung standarisasi tumbuhan obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan karakterisasi genetik tempuyung menggunakan penanda molekuler ISSR (Inter Simple Sequence Repeats). Tiga belas aksesi tempuyung yang dikoleksi dari 8 lokasi digunakan sebagai sampel dan diamplifikasi DNAnya menggunakan 5 primer ISSR.Indeks similaritas dihitung berdasarkan indeks similaritas Dice. Analisis klaster menggunakan metode Unweighted Pair Group Method Using Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) dilakukan untuk mengonstruksi dendogram. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya variasi genetik antar aksesi tempuyung yang terbagi menjadi 3 klaster pada indeks similaritas 75,16%. Aksesi Purwokerto dan B2P2TOOT (4) mempunyai hubungan kemiripan yang terdekat pada indeks similaritas 90,90%.     Conservation Status of Medicinal Plants from Papua and West Papua Province (Indonesia)

    Research on Medicinal Plants and Jamu (RISTOJA) in of Papua and West Papua  provinces was conducted in November-December 2012 and May 2017 using the purposive sampling and snowball method. The purpose of the review in this paper is to find out the patterns and trends in species used, and to discuss the factors that cause the vulnerability of declining plant species due to harvest pressure. In this paper, RISTOJA’s  data is primary data and a review of the data is carried out by searching literature online and offline. From the results of RISTOJA in Papua and West Papua (Western New Guinea) in 2012 and 2017, there were 2929 numbers of medicinal plants, and it is estimated that from the 2929 numbers there were 983 species of medicinal plants, and from the estimated 983 species of medicinal plants there were 444 species of medicinal plants not yet identified, because most species do not have generative parts and there are 529 medicinal plants identified to species level (2.1% of the total flora of Papua and West Papua). From these data, one species of medicinal plants was included in the category of Critically Endangered (0.19%), two species of Endangered (0.38%), and four species of Vulnerable (0.76%), two species Near Threatened (0.38%), 61 species of Least Concern (11.53%), six species of Data Deficient (DD). Threatened status is more commonly found in species recorded as harvested by traditional healer not from gardens (forests and others). Thus, the continuous exploitation of harvests from the forest and the wildlife can lead to an increase in the future Red List status of some species which are at risk threatened condition. Keywords: IUCN, medicinal plants, Papua, RISTOJA, Western Papua

    The flavonoid analytical method after using spectrophotometer against apigenin, quercetin, rutin and hesperidin flavonoids has been carried out. Method validation of Chang et al. (2002) gave good result of analytical parameters including λmax, operating time, limit of detection (LOD), linear range, standard curve, recovery, precision and limits of quantification (LOQ) while method Zou et al. (2004) is more applicable. Application of methods Chang et al. (2002) showed that the total flavonoid content of celery (Apium graviolens L.) is 1.130 + 0.018% (LOQ 0.001%) calculated as apigenin, the total flavonoid content of mulberry (Morus alba L.) is 0.883 + 0.034% (LOQ 0.019%) calculated as quercetin, the total flavonoid content of patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.) is 1.187 + 0.062% (LOQ 0.039%), calculated as a rutin and the total flavonoid content of lemon peel (Citrus aurantifolia) is 3.216 + 0.084% (0.072% LOQ), calculated as hesperidin. Base on the result, the analytical method of Chang et al. (2002) could be used for flavonoid standardization in herbal medicine

    KERAGAMAN GENETIK DRINGO (Acorus calamus L.) BERDASARKAN INTER–SIMPLE SEQUENCE REPEATS (ISSR)

    Dringo (Acorus calamus L.) used as medicinal plant in Indonesian ethnic groups. Those information based on Ristoja (Research Programme on Medicinal Plants) in year 2012. The objective of Ristoja was to provide a database of local ethnomedicine knowledge, herbal formula and medicinal plant in Indonesia. The aim of this study was to assess the genetic diversity of Dringo from 20 selected ethnic groups in Indonesia based on Inter Simple Sequence Repeats (ISSR). Ten selected ISSR primers generated 82 amplified fragments with 51,2% were polymorphic. Dice coefficient was used to calculate similarity index and UPGMA was used to construct a dendogram. The genetic similarity index among accessions ranged from 76,7–100% thus indicating that low level of genetic diversity in Dringo. Genetic diversity database can be useful for medicinal plant mapping and conservation especially for in situ conservation

    The prevalence of overweight (obesity) has increased significantly in the world. During this decade, obesity will become a health problem. Even today, obesity is referred to as the New World Syndrome, where it is continuity increasing the number of events almost all over the world. Based on Riskesdas in 2010, the prevalence of adult obesity in Indonesia had reached 21.7%, significantly increasing if it was compared to the previous Riskesdas in 2007 which were 10.3%. Obesity in the younger people was associated with the increased of the incident risk of coronary heart disease, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes mellitus and metabolic disorders. Obesity has a strong correlation with morbidity and mortality, and received serious attention on the causes, prevention and treatment efforts. Until now, there has been no specific drugs used for weight loss. People saw fitoterapi as a weight loss (besides diet)drug, because it has been considered relatively safe and without significant side effects. Jamu consisting of Jati Belanda, Kemuning, Kelembak and tempuyung was used in Saintifikasi Jamu Clinic. The results in this jamu showed that capsule weight loss has gave lower Body Mass Index (BMI) for 2 months but it has not lowered the BMI category of overweight to normal. The jamu could significantly reduce the weight of research subyek after administration for 28 days, with an average decline of 3.9 Kg and a highly significantly decrease after 56 days administration, with an average decrease of 6.7 Kg, compared to the initial weight. Medicinal herb could reduce the waist 41.1 cm, after 56 days administration. The herbs could not reduce the upper arm circumference, after 56 days administration

    ISOLATION OF ESSENSIAL OIL OF NUTMEG (Myristica fragrans Houtt) and ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY TEST WITH DPPH

    The essential oil of the nutmeg plant (Myristica fragrans Houtt) has been obtained from roots, bark, fruit, mace and seeds using Stahl steam distillation. Each essential oil have tested for antioxidant activity with DPPH. Antioxidant activity of essential oil from each nutmeg plant to DPPH with concentration 25, 50 and 100 ppm. Each essential oil did not show strong antioxidant activity but the result of nutmeg isolation had strong antioxidant activity with IC50 that was 80,555 ppm. Based on GC-MS analysis of essential oil of nutmeg isolate obtained myristicin compound with 96.52% area and time Retention 22.127.     Human life in the world is inseparable from the various life problems that take turns. People with high levels of resilience will be able to get through all the problems of their lives safely and successfully. However, for someone who has a low level of resilience will consider all the problems faced as a disaster that increasingly makes it sink and fall. On one side of the problem of life is an exercise that will strengthen humans in reaching a higher degree of life. Resilience is the ability to adapt to life's suffering that befalls and then there are efforts to raise and overcome it. This paper contains an analysis of several poems by Mutanabbi, he was a medieval Arabic poet who composed many poems with the theme of hamasah which contained elements of resilience.
