Improving Student’s Vocabulary Mastery Through English Newspapaper Article At Eight Grade Of Mts Al-Munawwarah Medang Deras
Get PDFThis research was aimed to know and to describe how the English
newspaper articles can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery by using
English newspaper articles at eighth grade of MTs Al-Munawwarah in
20120/2021 academic year. The method used in this study was Classroom Action
Research (CAR). The subject of this research consisted of 30 students of VIII-1.
The research conducted in two cycles, cycle I and cycly II. The data were
gathered through qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were
gained by analysing the interview, observation result, diary notes and
documentation. The quantitative data were obtained from the students’ vocabulary
score of pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II. The result of this research, most of
the students achieved a good score at the end of every cycle. The passing grade of
English lesson was 75. The mean of the pre-test was 42,66. The mean of the first
cycle was 70,50. The mean of second cycle was 86,33. It was indicated that the
scores and the mean in second cycle were better than the first cycle. The
percentage of students who got point 75or more also grew up.. It means that there
was an improving about 43,33%. The post-test of cycle II, students who got point
75or more there were 30 students (100%) and the improving was about 56,67%.
For the total improving of the students’ score from pre-test to post-test of cycle II
was 100%. From this result, English newspaper article could improve students’
vocabulary mastery

This paper has purpose to know about the impact service quality of customer satisfaction in PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol. The writer take the title to find out how the impact of service quality on satisfaction. The method used is a descriptive analysis with searching trought library,observation and quetioner. Technical analysis used of data is descriptive analysis, the data has been collected will be processed with SPSS. In this study the author used technical data analysis correlation.
From the results of this study it can be concluded that the prence of a positive relationship between service quality on customer satisfaction by 5,293 and the magnitude of impact of service quality to customer PT Taman Impian Jaya Ancol conducted customer satisfaction levels by 29,2% while the remaining 70,8% influenced by other factors
CONVERSATION ANALYSIS ON THE INTERVIEW BETWEEN NEWS REPORTER OF NEW YORK TIMES AND AUTHOR ON BESTSELLER NOVELS
No full textThe tesis entitled “Conversation Analysis on the Interview between News reporter of New York Times and Author on Bestseller Novels” is aimed at describing the aspects of conversation found in that interview. Those are opening and closing, adjacency pair, topic management and turn taking. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method to study the problem, because this study has a purpose to describe and analyze the aspects of conversation in an interview. The data were taken from written data of news interview of news reporter and author in Stuart Wood’s (author) official webpage. The speakers are a news reporter and author. The conversation was an English dialogue in formal conversation. The result showed that there is no opening and this interview because the interviewer directly asked question to the author. The closing is indicated by the preclosing” “Anything else you’d like to say to readers?”. Then, it was followed by the answer of the interviewee or the novel’s author. The dominant adjacency pair found in this interview is question-answer. The topic discussed in this interview is only one that is about the novel wriitten by the author. The initiator of the topic is interviewer by asking something to the interviewee. The topic is developed by the interviewee by giving answer to the interviewer. There are 114 turn takings in the conversation: 57 times from the interviewer and 57 times form the interviewee. In this conversation there is no dominant person or less dominant person because both of them gives the same turns. Beside that, the form of the conversation is just question and answer. So, the turn taking just happened when the interviewer gives question to the interviewee

Kata Kunci: perempuan Jawa, novel Canting, domestik dan publik Perempuan Jawa dalam penulisan ini merupakan perempuan yang lahir dalam kultur Jawa dan dididik serta dibesarkan dalam lazimnya masyarakat patriarki. Peran perempuan Jawa yang tercermin pada novel Canting karya Arswendo Atmowiloto cukup menarik. Perempuan Jawa ditampilkan secara dominan dan superior. Perempuan Jawa dapat menguasai ruang domestik dan ruang publik secara bersamaan. Sikap yang ditunjukkan perempuan Jawa dengan sifat sabar, pasrah, hubungan baik kepada masyarakat, serta pekerja keras ditampilkan dan diceritakan dengan baik oleh Arswendo. Adapun fokus penelitian adalah peran perempuan Jawa dalam ruang domestik dan publik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dalam diskurus feminis. Tahapan penelitian ini meliputi; (1) memilih dan menentukan buku novel, (2) membaca sumber data yang berupa buku novel, (3) pengolahan data, yang terdiri dari ketegorisasi dan reduksi data, (4) penyajian data (5) interpretasi data, mendeskripsikan dan memaparkan hasil analisis sesuai data yang ditemukan dan fokus penelitian. (6) kesimpulan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi dokumen. Dokumen yang berisikan data-data penelitian. Selanjutnya, prosedur pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara: (1) penulis menentukan objek kajian berupa novel Canting, (2) membaca kritis novel ‘Canting’ untuk memahami keseluruhan cerita, (3) mengambil kutipan berupa deskriptif, naratif, atau dialog yang sesuai dengan fokus penelitian, (4) mengklasifikasikan data sesuai dengan fokus penelitian, (5) menganalisis dan menafsirkan data untuk menemukan representasi perempuan Jawa. Berdasarkan analisis data diperoleh tiga simpulan. Pertama, perempuan Jawa dalam novel Canting memegang superioritas pada ruang domestik yang tidak dimiliki laki-laki. Kedua, perempuan Jawa dalam novel Canting memegang ruang publik yang pada umumnya dipandang sebagai wilayah maskulinitas. The role of Javanese women reflected in novel Canting by Arswendo Atmowiloto is quite interesting. Javanese women are shown to be dominant and superior. Javanese women can control domestic space and public space simultaneously. The attitude shown by Javanese women with patience, submissiveness, good relationships to the community, and hard workers is well presented and told by Arswendo. The focus of this research is the role of Javanese women in domestic and public spaces. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method with feminist discourse. Stages of this research include; (1) selecting and defining novel books, (2) reading data sources in the form of novel books (3) data processing, consisting of data categorization and data collection, (4) data presentation (5) data interpretation, according to the data found and the focus of the study. (6) conclusions. Data collection is done through document studies. Documents containing the research data. Furthermore, the data collection procedure is done by: (1) the author determines the object of the study of the novel Canting, (2) critical reading of the novel Canting to understand the whole story, (3) take descriptive quote, narrative, or dialogue accordingly with a focus on research, (4) classifying data according to the research focus, (5) analyzing and interpreting data to find representations of Javanese women. Based on the data analysis obtained three conclusions. First, the Javanese women in the novel Canting have superiority in the domestic space that men do not have. Second, Javanese women in the novel Canting have no less attitude than men in the public sphere which is the sector of masculinity. Third, Javanese women can harmonize both domestic and public spaces in a balanced way

Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan untuk memberikan edukasi dan pengenalan mengenai dasar akuntansi dalam pengelolaan keuangan yang baik agar uang yang disimpan dapat terencanakan atau dikelola dengan baik untuk masa yang akan datang. Kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan metode penyampaian materi menggunakan slide show pada power point. Hal ini telah meningkatkan pemahaman anak mengenai pentingnya dasar akuntansi dalam mengelola keuangan sejak dini untuk masa depan, sehingga anak-anak diharapkan dapat mengelola keuangannya dengan mudah dan mampu memberikan kontribusi bagi bangsa dan negara. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of this research consisted of 30 students of VIII-1. In this case the teacher of MTS Al Munawwarah as an observer and collaborator. The research conducted in two cycles, cycle I consist of t wo meetings and cycle II was one meeting. The research was conducted as follow; planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The data used in this research such as: Pre-test and Post-test, observation sheet, interview sheet, diary notes, and documentation. The data were gathered through qualitative and quantitative data. The qualitative data were gained by analysing the interview, observation result, diary notes and documentation. Then, quantitative data were obtained from the students’ vocabulary score of pre-test, post-test I, and post-test II. The result of this research showed that there was improving of students’ vocabulary mastery through English newspaper articles. Most of the students achieved a good score at the end of every cycle. The passing grade of English lesson was 75 (seventy five). The mean of the pre-test was 42,66. The mean of the first cycle was 70,50. The mean of second cycle was 86,33. It was indicated that the scores and the mean in second cycle were better than the first cycle. The percentage of students who got point 75or more also grew up. It means that there was an improving about 43,33%. The post-test of cycle II, students who got point 75or more there were 30 students (100%) and the improving was about 56,67%. For the total improving of the students’ score from pre-test to post-test of cycle II was 100%. In other words, the students’ vocabulary mastery improved and became very well in the first meeting to the next meeting. Related to observation result and the interview, showed that got positive responses from the students. The students were more active, enthusiasm, motivated in teachinglearning process. In addition, from English newspaper articles, the students could develop their own personal vocabulary and get much variation of vocabularies. Thus, it was found that through English newspaper articles can improve the students’ vocabulary mastery
