    EPISTEMOLOGI TAFSIR MULLĀ ṢADRĀ

This article aims to carry out an exploration related to the epistemological setting of Mullā Ṣadrā's interpretation. Apart from being known as the main Muslim philosopher as Ibn Sinā, Ṣadrā also describes his mystical-philosophical views in his collection of commentary treatises, Tafsīr al-Qurān al-Karīm. Through this article, the author describes a set of interpretive epistemologies used by Ṣadrā, which can be used as an epistemological offer to bridge several issues of Sufi interpretation (tafsīr al-ishārī), especially in the validity of its disclosure method. In addition to the method of interpretation, there are other unique things contained in this article, such as: mukāshafah as the main foundation of interpretation as it applies generally in the Sufi interpretation (tafsīr al-ishārī), sources of interpretation (maṣādir al-tafsīr) and the style of explanation of the commentary (uslūb al-tafsīr) that Ṣadrā uses. Furthermore, to complete this paper, the author also describes Ṣadrā's view of the ontology of the Quran as the basis of his interpretation epistemology

A Referential Interpretation al-Jaryī wa al-Inṭibāq: Approach (Tafsīr Taṭbīqī) for Digging The Inner Meaning of al-Qur'an.

Some important criteria that must be considered by the commentator in determining the inner (esoteric) meaning of the Qur'an are that it must not conflict with the literal text, mutawatir hadiths and important religious principles (dharuriyāt ad-dīn). Once the requirements that must be met in the interpretation are so strict, not a few products of isyari interpretation (Sufi interpretation) are considered deviant and trapped in tafsir bi al-ra’yī al-madzmum (despicable interpretation). Therefore, it is important to carry out several in-depth reviews of various approaches and rules of interpretation that can be used as a medium for revealing and explaining the inner meaning of the Qur'an.             In this article, the author tries to clarify the important position of the rule of al-jaryī wa al-Inṭibāq in the interpretation of the Qur'an, which is very likely in some cases not paid attention to by some commentators. For the author, this rule can be a bridge in determining the validity of the inner meaning of the Qur'an because the main element of this rule is the hadiths that are related to the context of the nuzūl verse. The main working principle of this rule is to try to apply certain references intended by the verses of the Qur'an to several different individuals at different times and places with the context of the initial nuzul of the verse. This rule seeks to find new meanings from the general concept of the verse which is abstracted from hadith data that is related to the context of its nuzul

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Dasar-Dasar Moderasi dalam Epistemologi Pendidikan Islam Perspektif Al-Qur’an

This article explores the basics of moderation excavated from the verses of the Qur'an, which can be used as the epistemology of education in Islam. The critical value of this study is the critique of the epistemology of modern Western education, which ignores metaphysics as an approach and study in epistemology. Through this article, the author wants to make a description of the human ontology and its axiology from the perspective of the Qur'an as an epistemological foundation in education. It is urgent to do this because the basics of educational epistemology cannot be separated from the human perspective on ontology and axiology. Through the analysis of the verses of the Qur'an, it is illustrated that humans are created in moderation. The dimensions inherent in the reality of human ontology- such as exoteric-esoteric, physical-spiritual, physical-metaphysical, individual (private)-social aspects- are given serious attention by the Qur'an and placed in their respective positions. Another interesting discussion in this article is a description of the ethical-axiological values of a moderate Al-Qur'an perspective, such as the influence of morality, family, worship and prayer on the development of human physical and spiritual aspects. Regarding the research approach, this article can be called a thematic interpretation study because the author tries to collect the verses of the Qur'an in a specific theme and then examines the interrelationships between these verses to produce a general concept.

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Abstract : Mullā Ṣadrā is one of the philosophers who had considerable attention to the study of human. His view concerning the human soul and its perfection can be applied as the basis of Islamic principles of psychology. Under the investigation on his philosophical writtings as well as his  Quranic  interpretation,  such  as  Tafsīr  al-Qur’ān,  we  are  invited  to  understand  human nature and its perfection. This article shows Ṣadra’s view about the value of knowledge as the basis of the achievement of happiness in human being. This paper also intended to show that knowledge about the reality of the human soul has a major influence on moral action of an individual. Keywords :  transcendental  psychology,  substantial  motion  (al-harakah  al-jawhariyah), ignorance  (jahl),  theoretical  reason  (nazari),  practical  reason  (‘amali),    intellectual  faculty, animal faculty, lust and anger (amarah). Kata-kata kunci :  psikologi  transendental,  gerak  substansi  (al-harakah  al-jawhariyah), kebodohan  (jahl),  akal  teoritis  (nazhari),  akal  praktis  (‘amali),  daya  intelektual,  daya hewaniyah, syahwat dan amarah

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
