Academic Stress and Primary Dysmenorrhea in Medical Students Tanjungpura University
Introduction: Academic stress is common among medical students, particularly women who may be hormonally more susceptible. Primary dysmenorrhea—menstrual pain without pelvic pathology—is often intensified by stress and can hinder academic performance.
Objective: To examine the relationship between academic stress and primary dysmenorrhea among female medical students at Tanjungpura University.
Methods: This analytical observational study used a cross-sectional design involving 123 female medical students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Academic stress was measured using the Medical Student Stress Questionnaire (MSSQ), and menstrual pain was assessed with the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test.
Result: Most respondents reported severe academic stress (57.7%) and mild dysmenorrhea (44.7%). A moderate positive correlation was found between academic stress and dysmenorrhea severity (r = 0.302; p = 0.0001).
Conclusion: A meaningful relationship exists between academic stress and the severity of primary dysmenorrhea in female medical students. The use of MSSQ highlights academic stressors specific to medical training. Targeted stress management strategies may help reduce menstrual pain and improve student well-being

Parents’ Acceptance of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in Pontianak City
This study aims to describe parents’ acceptance of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in Pontianak City. The research method used is descriptive with a cross-sectional approach. The research instruments used were the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ) and the Demographic Data Questionnaire. The respondents who participated in this study were 40 parents, consisting of 16 fathers and 24 mothers. A total of 18 (45 percent) parents accepted, and 22 (55 percent) refused. Most of the respondents were in the category of early middle age (65 percent), married (92 percent), high school graduates (50 percent), housewives/not working (35 percent), and high and very high income (35 percent). The characteristics of parents who accept their child’s condition are early middle age adults, married, high school graduates, housewives/not working, and have moderate-income levels, while the characteristics of parents who refuse are the same as those who accept but have high-income levels. The process of accepting parents who have children with ASD is not easy. Fathers and mothers have different acceptance of children with ASD. Therefore, it is important to know parents’ acceptance of children with ASD starting from the child’s initial diagnosis so that it can help parents make decisions regarding the treatment of children with ASD
The Evaluation of Parental Acceptance Towards Children with Sex Chromosomal Disorders of Sex Development Using A Mixed-Method
Background: Sex chromosomal Disorder of sex development (DSD) is an atypical abnormality of external genitalia which is mismatched with its sex chromosome traits. The condition of children with DSD affects the dynamics in the family. Parents’ reactions after discovering this health problem vary greatly, such as being in a state of shock, confusion, or self-blame. However, parents’ acceptance is extremely important for better quality of caring, to the healthy social and emotional child development, and to make the best decisions regarding gender assignment. Objective: To describe the acceptance process of parents that have children with sex chromosomes mosaicism DSD.Methods: This study used a mixed-method with a sequential explanatory approach, which was preceded by quantitative data collection followed by qualitative. The total respondents consisted of 14 mothers and 12 fathers of 14 sex chromosome mosaicism DSD patients with XX/XY, X/XY, XYY or XXY variants. Quantitative data were collected using the Indonesian version of the Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ), and interviews were conducted to determine the acceptance process. Results: Most acceptance cases were based on the surgical stage completion in which a higher number of mothers (71.43%) than fathers (50%).Conclusion: It is uneasy for parents to accept children with sex chromosome mosaicisms DSD, hence the fathers struggle more than mothers in accepting those affected. A long-term follow-up of Sex Chromosomal Mosaicism Disorders of Sex Development
Background:Chromosomal mosaicism is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct cell lines in an individual. Mosaicism in sex chromosome is a major component of Disorders of Sex Development (DSD) results in a large clinical spectrum of genital ambiguity. Case Presentation:We report long term follow-up of a 15-year-old male who was evaluated for ambiguous genitalia with a karyotype of 46,XY (85%) / 46,XX (15%). He presented with abnormal urethral opening (hypospadias) and left sided undescended testis since birth. Work-up was done for cytogenetic analysis, hormonal assays, imaging, exploratory laparotomy, and hypospadias repair. For more than 15 years he was reared as a boy, with no further complaints, until he reached puberty. He then developed gynecomastia and monthly painful hematuria. MRI evaluation revealed a left adnexal cystic mass and anteflexed uterus with loculated fluid collection posterior to urinary bladder suggesting hematometra. We discuss the genetics, diagnostics, as well as genetic counseling of this patient. Conclusion: This case is reported in view of the interesting clinical presentation of this rare mosaicism. A strong emphasis on a multidisciplinary approach and close follow-up is important to ensure both physical and psychological well-being of DSD patients
EDUKASI GIZI SEIMBANG PADA ANAK TUNAGRAHITA DI SDLB-C DHARMA ASIH PONTIANAK
The quality of life for children is largely determined by fulfilling balanced nutrition during the process of growth and development. Nutritional problems in children with special needs who have intellectual limitations tend to be obese. From the results of previous research on SDLB-C Dharma Asih children, it was found that the majority of children had over-nutritional status and were obese.
