Gomes worked in numerous mental health and social service contexts before becoming the director of Kuaʻana Student Services at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa where she impacted many Hawaiian students. Gomes is perhaps most well-known for her work in founding Nā Mamo o Hawaiʻi and being on the Commission on Same-Sex Marriage and the Law, a very public role at the height of debates over same-sex marriage in Hawaiʻi in the 1990s. Gomes and Nā Mamo were public advocates for Hawaiian sovereignty and LGBTQM rights and worked to change the perception of “gay people” in the Hawaiian community while also bringing Hawaiian issues to the LGBT community

No full textJoe Gomes is the High-Performance Director for the Florida Institute for Human & Machine Cognition (IHMC), a non-for-profit research institute that pioneers technologies aimed at leveraging and extending human capabilities. At IHMC he is focused on supporting existing research in human performance and resilience and serving as a subject-matter-expert (SME) in the human performance domain.
Mr. Gomes has close to 20 years of international experience in high-performance program leadership. Specifically, as a high-performance director, program manager and head coach, responsible for developing staffs and systems that evaluate and prepare elite athletes and elite warfighters for peak and sustainable performance. He is passionate about supporting career longevity in national asset populations.
From January 2015 through January 2018 Mr. Gomes was the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League. Here he oversaw all aspects of human performance, including sport science, nutrition, strength & conditioning, player reconditioning and performance analytics. During his tenure, player availability rose to unprecedented levels in the franchise’s history, highlighting his programs philosophy in maximizing player performance, availability and durability.
Prior to joining the Oakland Raiders, Mr. Gomes spent 5 years in North Carolina, contracted as a Senior Advisor and Performance Director to the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). Here he developed the concept and operational framework for a pioneering human performance program within the Department of Defense for USASOC. Key highlights were the recruitment and development of a world class staff, developing and managing systems of evaluation, testing and profiling of key performance indicators. Mr. Gomes oversaw all aspects of programming and monitoring for USASOC as well as all research and innovation for human performance initiatives. Mr. Gomes also supported the planning and development of a multimillion-dollar human performance training center for USASOC.
Mr. Gomes also served as the Director of Performance for EXOS (formerly Athletes’ Performance) for 9 years, joining in 2006. During his tenure, Mr. Gomes ran the industry-leading preparation program for the annual NFL Scouting Combine each February from 2007-10. Over those four years, Gomes trained 35 first-round draft picks, 13 top-10 selections and four first-overall picks.
Mr. Gomes works as a consultant in high-performance solutions for professional sports and elite organizations, he provides strategies to identify and reduce injury potential as well as increasing and maintaining optimum performance levels in extreme environments. Mr. Gomes actively consults with high performance organizations and agencies from a number of different backgrounds, including branches of United States Military Special Operations Command, sporting federations and professional teams. Mr. Gomes is a member to the Science & Innovation Board for TIGNUM, a sustainable high-impact firm that supports organizations and their critical teams from all sectors of business. Mr. Gomes is also a founding board member of both Stand By The Wounded and The Unit Foundation. Concentra-se nas cenas de representação masculina na série Glimpses of America, composta por 1527 fotografias, feitas durante a segunda viagem do artista aos Estados Unidos nos anos de 1975 e 1976. O conjunto apresenta um material desconhecido do grande público, que vincula sempre a obra de Alair Gomes às imagens dos rapazes nas praias cariocas. Glimpses of America trata de paisagens urbanas, rurais e litorâneas; apresenta o interesse de Gomes pela arquitetura americana, pelos interiores de museus, por jovens de etnia oriental e trabalhadores do campo. Embora Alair Gomes estivesse em território estrangeiro e menos familiar, esta dissertação propõe demonstrar que o fotógrafo soube se adaptar e manter a coerência de seu trabalho, produzindo uma série que reforça o fascínio pelo corpo pelo mundo masculino. Grande parte do material abordado neste mestrado está no acervo de fotografias de Gomes pertencentes à da Biblioteca Nacional ainda muito vasto e inexplorado. Nosso recorte se concentra especialmente em obras não estudadas e inéditasAbstract: This dissertation deals with the work of the Carioca photographer Alair Gomes (1921-1992), who produced a large number of male body pictures from the 1960s to the middle of the 1980s. It focuses on the male representation scenes in the series Glimpses of America that includes 1527 photographs made during the artists second trip to the United States between the years 1975 and 1976. The series presents unknown photographs made by Gomes to of the general public, which often knows only his photographs of young men at the beaches of Rio. Glimpses of America deals with urban, and rural and coastal landscapes, with American architecture, the inside of museums, the Asian young people, and the country side workers. A series that reflect the specificities of the masculine world. Although Gomes was unfamiliar to the culture and territory of USA, this dissertation aims to demonstrate the adaptation of the photographer to maintain the coherence of his work in a series that reinforces the fascination to the male body. estudo sobre a economia, principalmente em cidades pequenas. Por isso, esse estudo
visa caracterizar e analisar os empreendimentos na cidade de Frutuoso Gomes no
estado do Rio Grande do Norte, porém com uma ênfase em investigar se eles fazer
uso de estratégias de marketing visando o modo de divulgação através de redes
sociais.
A fase quantitativa faz parte de um estudo já existente, onde obteve-se dados
referentes a cidade de Frutuoso Gomes – RN, após a análise dos dados percebe-se
a falta de desenvolvimento no setor de empreendedorismo no seu centro comercial,
pode-se visualizar os problemas e consequentemente gerar soluções A segunda parte
foi feita para estudar as estratégias de marketing utilizadas por essas empresas, onde
pode-se perceber uma escassez nessa área do empreendedorismo no município. Por
fim, a partir deste trabalho, tem-se a possibilidade de enxergar e entender com

DADOS BIOGRÁFICOS DO RETRATADO:
Edgard Santos nasceu em Salvador, em 1894. Diplomado em medicina, fez especialização em cirurgia em São Paulo. Ao retornar, ingressou na cátedra de Patologia e Cirurgia e dirigiu a Faculdade de Medicina.
Orlando Gomes dos Santos nasceu em 07 de dezembro de 1909, natural de Salvador, Bahia. Formou-se pela Faculdade de Direito da Bahia em dezembro de 1930, com apenas 21 anos. Aos 23 anos habilitou-se ao ensino de “Introdução à Ciência do Direito” e posteriormente, em 1934, à Cátedra de Direito Civil. Em 1936, com a industrialização e a organização da classe trabalhadora, surgia uma nova disciplina, Direito do Trabalho, tendo sido ORLANDO GOMES o seu primeiro regente na Faculdade da Bahia. Além disso, a própria tese do concurso revelou um estudioso do novo tema: “Convenção Coletiva do Trabalho”. Qual é sua forma de interagir ludicamente com a natureza? Para a realização desta pesquisa e obtenção de resultados foram visitadas nove terras indígenas. Com a pesquisa em andamento o trabalho busca diagnosticar as atividades físicas de aventura na natureza nas comunidades indígenas Guarani do Paraná. Por meio de pesquisa, entrevista, questionário e análise de documentos o projeto vem se desenvolvendo. Em algumas realidades, a pesquisa vem mostrando que, apesar de se possuir espaços físicos adequados para a prática de esportes na natureza, ela é quase inexistente, dando lugar à vivência de outras atividades e lazeres. Noutros grupos, o contato com o ambiente natural é corriqueiro desde a infância, mostrando uma inter-dependência dessa relação com diferentes esferas da vida.Rede CEDE
A influência do Brasil para o enfraquecimento da corte interamericana de direitos humanos : caso Gomes Lund
Get PDFA dimensão dos Direitos Humanos alcançou um patamar fundamental no contexto do início do século XXI. Se, por um lado, o sistema capitalista neoliberal se tornou mais selvagem, por outro lado a ordem internacional se fortaleceu na imposição da dignidade da pessoa humana. Considerando a ordem internacional de garantia dos Direitos Humanos, essa pesquisa tem como objetivo compreender as principais implicações do descumprimento das decisões da Corte Interamericana pelo Brasil no contexto brasileiro, internacional e dentro da própria corte. Considera-se que a Corte tem ganho um papel cada vez mais importante no sistema Interamericano de Direitos Humanos, mas também se avalia que o descumprimento de suas decisões por parte dos Estados Membro, podem enfraquecer o papel desta em sua luta pela garantia dos Direitos Humanos. Para a realização dessa pesquisa, foi feita uma revisão sistemática da literatura, combinada com uma análise especifica do caso Gomes Lund x Brasil, avaliando as providências tomadas pelo Estado brasileiro e seus efeitos para a manutenção do Sistema Interamericano de Direitos Humanos.The dimension of Human Rights reached a fundamental level in the context of the beginning of the 21st century. If, on one hand, the neoliberal capitalist system becomes more savage, on the other hand, the international order is strengthened by imposing the protection of the human person. Considering the international order of guarantee of Human Rights, this research aims to understand the main consequences of non-compliance with the decisions of the Inter-American Court, in the Brazilian and international context, and within the court itself. We consider that the Court has played an increasingly important role in the inter-American human rights system, but we also assess that non-compliance with their decisions by Member States may weaken their role in their struggle for the guarantee of human rights. To carry on this research, a systematic literature review was systematically reviewed and analyzed, combined with a specific study of the Gomes Lund x Brazil case, evaluating the measures the Brazilian State took and their effects on maintaining the Inter-American System of Human Rights
