Language Learning Strategies of EFL College Students
Get PDFThe objectives of the research were (1) to investigate the most dominant language learning strategies (LLS) used by sixth semester students of English Department of Tarbiyah Faculty at UIN Alauddin Makassar and (2) to find out the differences of using LLS between high achieving students and low achieving students. The result of the quantitative data through questionnaire showed that (1) metacognitive strategies was the most dominant LLS used, and (2) the high achieving students used metacognitive strategies with the highest preference and low achieving students used compensation strategies with the highest preference. The result of the qualitative data through think aloud showed that (1) the most dominant LLS employed by students were listening music, utilizing time for practicing and self-evaluating, (2) the most dominant LLS used by high achieving students were utilizing time for practicing, practicing English together and self-evaluating, whereas the most dominant LLS used by low achieving students were listening music, asking friend and selecting topic. The data were collected through documentation used to classify high achieving students and low achieving students based on their grade point average. It is concluded that the most dominant language learning strategies employed by students was metacognitive strategies. High achieving students employed different strategy than low achieving students. High achieving students used learning strategies more frequently than low achieving students

Coconut tree emerges from her head, rice plant grows from her navel, sugar palm tree grows from her vagina and papaya tree grows from her breast. Mango tree grows from her hands and edible tuber and cassava grow from her feet.Visualization of Dewi Sri Myth in the art of painting is a concept of representing the myth of Dewi Sri . Based on the creative idea and perspective, the writer tries to treat, to transform the figure of Dewi Sri Myth in the current context. In this concept, Dewi Sri is represented through the painting using impasto,underpainting and rendering techniques. Here Dewi Sri is presented symbolically so that the visualization emerging can remain to be perceived as work representing its age.Visualization of Dewi Sri’s symbols is the manifestation of the author in two-dimensional work through canvas, wood, and oil paint media with pallet knife and brushes, and other mixed media material to give new motif and colour in the art world, particularly in the creation of painting.Keywords: Dewi Sri and myt

The research has purpose to make calculation evaluations of determination production costs based on accounting principal in general. The determination of production costs in this research uses job order costing method and costs accumulation uses full costing method. The author uses comparison method in doing this research which compare between the determination of production costs based on accounting principal in general and the determination of production costs doing by Batik Dewi Sri Sarjono. The conclusion of this research is Batik Dewi Sri Sarjono does not calculate the labour costs and factory overhead costs in detail. The author finds unfavorable difference that reduce profit margins which have been set. The results of this research is to give some suggestions for Batik Dewi Sri Sarjono in order to obtain optimal profits

S.Pd.I., M.Pd., as the first consultant and Rusdiansyah, S.Pd., M.Hum., as the
second consultant.
This research aimed to investigate students' perceptions of digital reading in English
language education at IAIN Palopo. The researcher used a questionnaire and
interview to collect data on students’ perceptions and used descriptive quantitative
methods in analyzing the data. The data from the questionnaire was processed using
the SPSS application to obtain valid results. The sample for this research was 6th�semester students of the English Language Education Study Program at IAIN Palopo,
a total of 56 students. Samples were chosen by using a random sampling technique.
These are the results of the questionnaire: most students chose a positive perception
of 73.4% and a negative perception of 26.5%. Digital reading provides positive and
negative things, both in terms of efficacy and accessibility, including: Students also
mostly stated that using digital reading can improve their English skills. Students also
feel that using digital reading, they can research independently and repeat learning
material at any time. Students stated that they considered digital reading more
accessible and that their storage could be stored on their cell phones and accessible
anytime through their devices. However, there is a lack of network limitations when
downloading it.

questions: Does the use of Whatsapp application improve the listening skill of the
eleventh-grade students at SMK Komputer Madani Malangke? This research used
the experimental as a method where using pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The
data was collected by using a listening test. The population was 14 students where
the population of this research is the eleventh year students of SMK Komputer
Madani Malangke and the researcher us ed total population sampling which was
taken from the Class of 11 TKJ that consists of 14 students as the sample of the
research. The researcher choosed one class and gave treatment to the students to
help them to improve their listening skill. The result of this research, according to
the result of the test. the researcher found that the Whatsapp application was
effective as a media in the learning/teaching process to improve students’ listening
skills. The result of the post-test (68) and the pre-test (55). It indicated that using
Whatsapp application could improve as learning/teaching media at SMK
Komputer Madani Malangke.

Developing the Content of Webtoon Comic Application as Supporting Media in Learning English Grammar at the 2nd Semester English Students of IAIN Palopo
Get PDFThis research aims to create a supporting media product in English Grammar learning in semester 2 students majoring in English at IAIN Palopo. based on observations in June 2019, the author found a problem in the scale of student use in smartphone use that is increasingly growing. Therefore, the author is interested in creating an online comic that can be accessed on the phone by using an application called Webtoon. The study design used in this study was Research and Development (R&D) utilized ADDIE Model. It consists of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The product is used as a supporting medium in English grammar learning which was once being studied by Semester 2 English Student IAIN Palopo. The product was tried out to the Students of Semester 2 of English Students at IAIN Palopo. The instruments were used in this study are Questionnaire for need analysis and observation sheet for 5 Experts and student’s perception. In this study, 5 experts were involved in order to validate the product. The elements of the validation are Display, Content/Materials, Language, and the Application. The result based from the expert’s validation as well as try-out product result, the product of this study was appropriate to be applied for the students of English Department semester 2, as a supporting media in Learning English Gramma

This study aims to find out the actions and efforts of Dewi Sartika in improving the quality of education, especially for women. It can be said that the position of a woman as a potential housewife requires honing knowledge, skills, and additional work as expected by the figure of Dewi Sartika. The problem is that nowadays there are still prospective housewives who only have certain skills. And for work and other aspects it is still considered lacking. So this needs to be improved, especially for prospective housewives, namely in the aspects of education and skills. In this problem, the author uses qualitative methods in searching related data. The data taken can be in the form of relevant journals and books. The approach applied by Dewi Sartika in solving these problems is the strategic management approach which is supported by David Hanger's theory. Meanwhile, according to Dewi Sartika, women must be able to do everything in their lives, including serving their husbands, educating children, aspects of work, and so on.
The attitude of persistence and fortitude possessed by Dewi Sartika in the world of education should be an example for us. As for the secluded book owned by Dewi Sartika entitled "Kaoetamaan Wife" in which the book contains Raden Dewi Sartika's concern for a woman written in Sundanese. Therefore it is important for the writer to know Dewi Sartika's thoughts in order to improve education for women. So that women can be very sensitive to Islamic education which will be used in the household so that these women can have Islamic education that is so supportive for their children and their families who are equal, so that it will not change the obligation of women to respect men as housewives. ladder in the family.

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sepak terjang dan usaha Dewi Sartika dalam meningkatkan mutu pendidikan khususnya bagi kaum wanita. Bisa dikatakan kedudukan seorang wanita sebagai calon ibu rumah tangga yang dimana perlu dibutuhkan sebuah asah pengetahuan, ketrampilan, serta pekerjaan tambahan seperti apa yang diharapkan oleh tokoh Dewi Sartika. Permasalahannya yaitu pada masa kini masih dijumpai calon ibu rumah tangga yang hanya memiliki keahlian tertentu. Dan untuk pekerjaan maupun aspek lainnya masih dinilai kurang. Maka hal ini perlu untuk ditingkatkan khususnya bagi calon ibu rumah tangga yaitu dalam aspek pendidikan maupun ketrampilan. Dalam permasalahan ini, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif dalam pencarian data terkait. Data yang diambil bisa berupa jurnal, dan buku yang relevan. Adapun pendekatan yang diterapkan oleh Dewi Sartika dalam memecahkan permasalahan tersebut yaitu pendekatan manajemen strategik yang didukung oleh teori David Hanger. Adapun menurut Dewi Sartika bahwa wanita harus bisa melakukan segala hal dalam kehidupannya diantaranya melayani suami, mendidik anak, aspek pekerjaan, dan sebagainya.
Sikap kegigihan dan ketabahan yang dimiliki oleh Dewi Sartika dalam dunia pendidikan patut kita teladani. Adapun seklumit buku yang dimiliki oleh Dewi Sartika yang berjudul” Kaoetamaan Istri” yang dimana buku tersebut berisi kepedulian Raden Dewi Sartika terhadap seorang perempuan yang ditulis dalam bahasa Sunda. Maka dari itu penting bagi penulis untuk mengetahui pemikiran Dewi Sartika guna meningkatkan pendidikan bagi perempuan. Agar para kaum wanita bisa sangat peka terhadap pendidikan Islam yang akan digunakan dalam berumah tangga untuk menjadikan wanita tersebut bisa memiliki pendidikan Islam yang begitu mendukung untuk anaknya dan keluarganya yang sederajat, sehingga tidak akan mengubah kewajiban para kaum wanita untuk menghormati para kaum lelaki sebagai ibu berumah tangga dalam keluarga.

As an example of the genre, this special issue of bki presents Candra Aditya’s (2016) short film, Dewi pulang (Dewi goes home), which follows a young Javanese woman as she travels from Jakarta to her natal home in Central Java to attend her father’s funeral. A critically annotated transcript and translation of the film’s dialogue is followed by four essays on various aspects of the film and a conversation with the filmmaker. Issues addressed include the changing nature of short films and ‘indie’ cinema in post-authoritarian Indonesia; the filmmaking practices specific to Dewi pulang; the interplay of absence and presence in Dewi’s movement between Jakarta and her natal home in Central Java; and the juxtaposition of Indonesian-, English- and Javanese language dialogue, and the forms of sociality they respectively embody.
