Some Insights Into The Reactivity Of Oxovanadium Phosphate: Synthesis And Characterization Of An Vopo4-h2n(ch2) 3nh2 Coordination Compound

    No full text
The lamellar matrix of VOPO4·2H2O was used as the host species to prepare a VOPO4-1,3-diaminopropane coordination compound. The oxovanadium matrix and the synthesized hybrid were characterized by elemental analysis, infared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, X-ray diffractometry and SEM microscopy. The elemental analysis results, as well as the X-ray diffraction patterns and quantum chemical calculations, strongly suggest that the synthesized matrix is an equimolar (1:1) mixture of two compounds with the formulas VOPO4·[H2N-(CH 2)3-NH2] and VOPO4·[H 2N-(CH2)3-NH2]0.5. The SEM micrographs obtained for the VOPO4- diaminopropane hybrid matrix show that the microstructure of VOPO4·2H2O is changed after reaction, with an overall exfoliation of the oxovanadium matrix.701112831290Benes, L., Melánova, K., Zima, V., Kalousová, J., Votinsky, J., (1997) Inorg. Alkoxide As Precursors In The Synthesis Of New Materials Through The Sol-gel Process [alcóxidos Como Precursores Na Síntese De Novos Materiais Através Do Processo Sol-gel]

    No full text
An overview about the role of alkoxides in the most recent uses of the sol-gel process in the synthesis of new materials is presented. Special attention is focused on the uses of silicon, aluminum, zirconium and titanium alkoxides. This review shows that the alkoxides enable the synthesis of new matrices with controlled surface area, acidity and porosity, as well as some unusual properties. The property associated with the solubility of metal alkoxides opens enormous possibilities of combining them for the synthesis films of powders with a very large range of metal compositions.2718488Lehn, J.M., (1996) Compreensive Supramolecular Chemistry, , BPC Wheatons: ExceterSteed, J.W., Atwood, J.L., (2000) Supramolecular Chemistry, , Wiley: New YorkCorriu, R.J.P., (2001) Eur. Measurement of the ratio of prompt χ c to J / ψ production in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV

    No full text
    The prompt production of charmonium χ c and J / ψ states is studied in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √s = 7 TeV at the Large Hadron Collider. The χ c and J / ψ mesons are identified through their decays χ c → J / ψ γ and J / ψ → μ + μ - using 36 pb - 1 of data collected by the LHCb detector in 2010. The ratio of the prompt production cross-sections for χ c and J / ψ, σ (χ c → J / ψ γ) / σ (J / ψ), is determined as a function of the J / ψ transverse momentum in the range 2 < p T J / ψ < 15 GeV / c. The results are in excellent agreement with next-to-leading order non-relativistic expectations and show a significant discrepancy compared with the colour singlet model prediction at leading order, especially in the low p T J / ψ region

Evidence for the decay B0→J/ψω and measurement of the relative branching fractions of meson decays to J/ψη and J/ψη′

    No full text
    First evidence of the B 0 → J / ψ ω decay is found and the B s 0 → J / ψ η and B s 0 → J / ψ η ′ decays are studied using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb -1 collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. The branching fractions of these decays are measured relative to that of the B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0 decay:frac(B (B 0 → J / ψ ω), B (B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0)) = 0.89 ± 0.19 (stat) - 0.13 + 0.07 (syst),frac(B (B s 0 → J / ψ η), B (B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0)) = 14.0 ± 1.2 (stat) - 1.5 + 1.1 (syst) - 1.0 + 1.1 (frac(f d, f s)),frac(B (B s 0 → J / ψ η ′), B (B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0)) = 12.7 ± 1.1 (stat) - 1.3 + 0.5 (syst) - 0.9 + 1.0 (frac(f d, f s)), where the last uncertainty is due to the knowledge of f d / f s, the ratio of b-quark hadronization factors that accounts for the different production rate of B 0 and B s 0 mesons. The ratio of the branching fractions of B s 0 → J / ψ η ′ and B s 0 → J / ψ η decays is measured to befrac(B (B s 0 → J / ψ η ′), B (B s 0 → J / ψ η)) = 0.90 ± 0.09 (stat) - 0.02 + 0.06 (syst)

Synthesis And Characterization Of A Vopo4-dma Compound [síntese E Caracterização De Um Composto Vopo 4-dma]

A layered matrix, α-VOPO4.2H2O was used as host species to produce a VOPO4.dimethylacetamide intercalation compound. The oxovanadium matrix and the synthesized hybrid were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, X-ray diffractometry and SEM microscopy. The X-ray diffraction patterns show that the VOPO4.dimethylacetamide compound is amorphous, but can be turned lamellar after a solubilization-crystallization process. The SEM micrographs obtained for the VOPO4-dimethylacetamide hybrid matrix show that the microstructure of VOPO4.2H2O is changed after reaction, with a delamination of the oxovanadium matrix.264493496Guliants, V.V., Benziger, J.B., Sundaresan, S., (1995) J. Nonabrupt Interface Related Exciton Energy Shifts In Gan/alxga1-xn Quantum Dots

    No full text
    The existence of smooth interfaces was observed to change considerably the confined carriers energy levels and exciton energies in GaN/AlxGa1-xN quantum dots. The results were obtained within the framework of the effective-mass theory. It was observed a shift of the ground-state exciton energy about 27 meV if a 10 angstroms wide smooth interface exists in a GaN/Al0.3Ga0.7N dot with 50 angstroms of radius. This is a realistic case considering that interface widths are actually about this magnitude.338II/Tanaka, S., Iwai, S., Aoyagi, Y., (1996) Appl. Phys. First observations of the B0s →ψ(2S)η, B0 →ψ(2S)π + π − and B0s →ψ(2S)π + π − decays are made using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 collected by the LHCb experiment in proton–proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of √ s = 7 TeV. The ratios of the branching fractions of each of the ψ(2S) modes with respect to the corresponding J/ψ decays are B(B0s →ψ(2S)η) ÷ B(B0s →J/ψη) = 0.83± 0.14 (stat)±0.12 (syst) ±0.02 (B), ; B(B0→ψ(2S)π + π − ) ÷ B(B0→J/ψπ + π − ) = 0.56± 0.07 (stat)±0.05 (syst)± 0.01 (B), ; B(B0s →ψ(2S)π + π − ) ÷ B(B0s →J/ψπ + π − ) = 0.34± 0.04 (stat)±0.03 (syst)± 0.01 (B), where the third uncertainty corresponds to the uncertainties of the dilepton branching fractions of the J/ψ and ψ(2S) meson decays
