Inflammatory bowel disease-specific autoantibodies in HLA-B27-associated spondyloarthropathies: Increased prevalence of ASCA and pANCA
No full textAims: An association between inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and spondyloarthropathies (SpA) has repeatedly been reported. The aim of the present study was to investigate whether serologic markers of IBD, e. g. antibodies against Saccharomyces cerevisiae (ASCA), antibodies against exocrine pancreas (PAB) and perinuclear antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (pANCA) are present in HLA-B27-associated SpA. Methods: 87 patients with HLA-B27-positive SpA and 145 controls were tested for ASCA, PAB and pANCA employing ELISA or indirect immunofluorescence, respectively. Antibody-positive patients were interviewed regarding IBD-related symptoms using a standardized questionnaire. Results/Conclusion: When compared to the controls, ASCA IgA but not ASCA IgG levels were significantly increased in patients with SpA, in particular in ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and undifferentiated SpA (uSpA). pANCA were found in increased frequency in patients with SpA whereas PAB were not detected. The existence of autoantibodies was not associated with gastrointestinal symptoms but sustains the presence of a pathophysiological link between bowel inflammation and SpA. Copyright (C) 2004 S. No full textTese (doutorado) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro Tecnológico.O objetivo principal do "Estudo ergonômico das tarefas visuais aplicado à inspeção de produtos industriais" centrou-se no desenvolvimento de um estudo metodológico de análise das tarefas visuais, em controle de defeitos nas linhas de produção. Na sua elaboração procurou-se atender inicialmente os princípios ergonômicos, possibilitando uma efetiva aplicação no setor industrial. O estudo do movimento dos olhos foi um dos pontos de partida, por meio do qual foram fornecidos dados de seqüência de cada momento do processo de aquisição da informação visual, permitindo uma avaliação, como também, uma análise das estratégias cognitivas empregadas durante o exercício da tarefa visual. Neste estudo propomos uma metodologia que, alem de avaliar a atividade de inspeção, também contribui para a formação de competências nestas atividades. Apresentamos a possibilidade de utilizar os conhecimentos desenvolvidos na análise da tarefa de inspeção num programa de treinamento. Este programa de treinamento serviu de elo de ligação entre o conhecimento explícito e tácito, auxiliando tanto o analista quanto os indivíduos em treinamento, na externalização do conhecimento tácito durante a realização da tarefa de inspeção

No full textNa jaren van onderzoek en ontwikkeling is in 1986 op het Hydro Meteo Centrum (HMC) in Zeeland een tijdreeksmodel geïmplementeerd, waarmee m.b.v. aktuele golf- en windwaarnemingen deiningsvoorspellingen voor de zuidelijke Noordzee gegenereerd kunnen worden. De laagfrequente energie (E10) voorspellingen van dit ARMAX model zijn in principe gebaseerd op deiningsvoortplanting vanuit het noorden (Schilperoort, Poulisse en Wensink, zie Appendix I) en worden voornamelijk gebruikt om een optimaal toelatingsvoorschrift voor de toegangsgeulen van de Rotterdamse havens te verkrijgen. Verder worden ze gebruikt bij werkzaamheden voor de Oosterscheldekering en bij de toelating van schepen in de Westerschelde. Een eerste versie van dit model is geëvalueerd om inzicht te krijgen in de voorspelkracht van ARMAX voor verschillende situaties. Daartoe zijn voor een periode van 10 maanden verschillende voorspellingen met metingen vergeleken. No full textWe present the conceptual and methodological approach proposed by Véronique De Keyser to managing prevention and analysing professional risks. In this perspective conceptions and practices of prevention should always emerge and be structured by the risk analysis accomplished in context and with the participation of the concerned actors. We have structured the presentation of this approach in three parts. We begin by analysing the evolution of paradigms that support the understanding of risk evaluation and prevention management. Next we operationalise the concepts and the theories that characterise the contextual approach envisaged by the author to research/intervention in this domain. We conclude with the exposition of the most widespread methods in risk evaluation study, emphasising their use as instruments in order to promote transformations in views on conceptions and practices of prevention
Halogen-containing species at Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko: Full mission results
No full textInternational audienceDhooghe et al. (2017) studied halogen-bearing compounds in the coma of 67P/C-G with the Double Focusing Mass Spectrometer (DFMS) of Rosetta's ROSINA instrument during a few time periods from first encounter up to perihelion (August 2014-August 2015). The main halogen-bearing compounds identified in the comet atmosphere were the hydrogen halides HF (hydrogen fluoride), HCl (hydrogen chloride) and HBr (hydrogen bromide). The halogen to oxygen ratios were found to vary between ~10-4 (Cl/O and F/O) to ~10-6 (Br/O), which shows these compounds have a very low abundance. In a follow-up article, De Keyser et al. (2017) observed an increase in the halogen-to-oxygen ratio as a function of distance, which suggests a distributed source for HF and HCl, probably through progressive release of these compounds from grains. Fayolle et al. 2017 and recent work by Altwegg et al. 2020 show that also CH3Cl and NH4Cl, respectively are present in the coma. To further our knowledge on halogen containing species, we have applied recent improvements in DFMS data analysis techniques (De Keyser et al. 2019) to obtain a high quality time series for the complete mission duration. These data analysis techniques improve the retrieval of the abundances for overlapping mass peaks (18OH+ for F+, H218O+ for HF+, H34S+ for 35Cl+, and 36Ar+ and H234S+ for H35Cl+). The contribution of CS2++ to the signal of H37Cl+ has been determined from data for CS2+. Based on the full mission data, and focusing on chlorine, we determine the 37Cl/35Cl isotopic ratio. An interesting finding is that the 35Cl+/H35Cl+ and 37Cl+/H37Cl+ ratios in the DFMS mass spectrometer do not match the NIST ones for the H35Cl and H37Cl parents. This indicates that at least one additional chlorine source must be present. The variability of halogen-containing species as a function of time is discussed, as well as the possible role of distributed sources
