Fever dream (2016) is the first and only novel ever written by Samanta Schweblin, an Argentinian short story writer. The narrative develops itself through a conversation between the narrator and her interlocutor, and focuses mainly on the delicate yet disturbing relationship between two mothers and their children. The present paper is guided by the interest of analyzing these relations, focusing on the traditional concepts of maternal instinct and child innocence. With the intention of helping in the understanding of these themes, a study of selected short stories by the author will be made. Finally, the manifestation of the fantastic genre in the mentioned texts will be studied, considering that the distortion of reality is one of the distinct traits of Schweblins production
Informetrics on M. N. Srinivas
M. N. Srinivas, the well known sociologist is widely recognised as architect of modern Indian sociology and social anthropology. His publications have been analysed by year, domain, authorship pattern, channels of communication used. Keywords, etc. The results indicate that the papers published by him are of a nature that qualify him to be a 'role model' for the younger generations to emulate.
By the end of 1995, Srinivas had to his credit 144 papers which, included 33 broad papers in sociology and anthropology; 18 papers in social change; 28 papers in village studies; 12 papers on religion; 17 papers on caste and 36 papers of general popular interest. The periods 1958-61 and 1974-77, when Srinivas was 38-41 and 58-61 years old. were his most productive periods with highest publication activity
Influence of para substituents in controlling photophysical behavior and different non-covalent weak interactions in zinc complexes of a phenol based "end-off" compartmental ligand
Three dinuclear zinc(II) complexes with "end-off" compartmental ligands, namely 2,6-bis(N-ethylmorpholine-iminomethyl)-4-R-phenol (I: R = -CH3, Cl, tBu) were synthesized with the aim of exploring the role of the para substituent present in the ligand backbone in controlling the structural diversity, photophys. properties and different weak interactions of the complexes. The complexes are [Zn2L1(CH3CO2)2]1/2[Zn(NCS)4].3/2H2O (1), [Zn2L2(CH3CO2)2]1/2[Zn(NCS)4] (2), and [Zn2L3(CH3CO2)2]1/2[Zn(NCS)4] (3),. All three species, with the general formula 2[Zn2L(CH3COO)2][Zn(NCS)4], show the complex anion Zn(NCS)42- as a common structural feature decisive for crystn. All of them possess several noncovalent weak interactions where the nature of the "R'' group plays an essential role as exposed by DFT study. Besides exhibiting fluorescence behavior, the complexes also show para substitution controlled phosphorescence both at room and low temp. Anisotropy studies suggest the existence of complexes 2 and 3 as dimers in soln. The origins of the unusual room temp. phosphorescence and fluorescence behavior of the complexes were rationalized in the light of theor. calcns. [on SciFinder(R)
The body and ritual healing in Samanta Schweblin's "Fever Dream"
Literature is able to give a new significance to clinical facts by revealing the potentiality that its signifiers acquire through time and the evolution of social groups. In this study I propose an analysis of the metaphoric function of the concept of the body (in its meaning of the social body) and ritual healing in Fever Dream by Samanta Schweblin. The aim is to study how these elements contribute to contextualizing the environmental denouncement of the use of toxic chemicals described by the author

Linear stability of a liquid flow through a poroelastic channel
A liquid flow through a channel is studied based on the Orr-Sommerfeld eigenvalue problem, where the lower wall of the channel is occupied by the saturated poroelastic medium. The linear stability analysis is investigated in detail for arbitrary value of the wavenumber. The eigenvalues are computed numerically by using the Chebyshev spectral collocation method. The effect of physical parameters, for instance, permeability, elasticity as well as their combined effect on the unstable modes are examined
Lo familiar y lo femenino en la narrativa de Samanta Schweblin
The Argentine narrator Samanta Schweblin, member of the Granta and Bogotá 39 Selections, is the author of the novels Kentukis, Fever Dream and the books of short stories Siete casas vacías (Seven empty houses) and Mouthful of Birds. Her narrative, due to its characteristics, can be considered feminine (even feminist), as she creates universes from the perspective of women, in which their world —with all its objects, situations, rolls, experiences— is put in evidence and questioned, even from the writing techniques. This article offers a reading of the family environment built on the narrative of the Argentine author, the books Fever Dream (2014) and Mouthful of Birds (2009), from a female voice that can be considered part of that "new canon" in Latin American literature.La narradora argentina Samanta Schweblin, perteneciente a las selecciones Granta y Bogotá 39, es autora de las novelas Kentukis, Distancia de rescate y los libros de cuentos Siete casas vacías y Pájaros en la boca. Environmental factors, professional stress, and social disintegration are regarded as the initial causative factors of addiction behavior. Shift work, artificial light exposure at night, and chronic and acute jet lag influence circadian rhythm dysfunction. The result is impaired neurotransmitter release, dysfunction of neural circuits, endocrine disturbance, and metabolic disorder, leading to advancement in substance use disorder. There is a bidirectional relationship between chronodisruption and addiction behavior. Circadian rhythm dysfunction, neuroadaptation in the reward circuits, and alteration in clock gene expression in the mesolimbic areas influence substance use disorder (SUD), and chronotherapy has potential benefits in the treatment strategies. This review explores the relationship among the circadian rhythm dysfunction, reward circuit, and SUD. The impact of chronotherapy on SUD has also been discussed. Keywords: SCN, circadian rhythm dysfunction, melatonin, cortisol, drug addictio
