THE EFFECT OF N-NH3 INCLUSION ON THE DEGRADATION OF TANNIN OF SORGHUM GRAIN BY RUMEN MICROBES
Two experiments were conducted to study the effect of N-NH3 inclusion in the rumen liquor on the degradation of tannin of whole sorghum grain. The first experiment was carried out to determine the effect of N-NH3 inclusion doses in the rumen liquor on the degradation of sorghum grain tannin. The urea as a source of N-NH3 were included in rumen liquor at doses of 0, 0.5, 1.0, and 1.5% from the weight of whole sorghum grain (w/w). The degradation of sorghum grain tannin was increased (P<0.05) by the doses of N-NH3 inclusion, but the degradation of sorghum grain tannin began to decrease at 1.5% of N-NH3 inclusion dose. In the second experiment, the 1% of N-NH3 inclusion dose was used to evaluate the duration of fermentation in the rumen liquor. The whole sorghum grain were fermented for 12h, 24h, 48h, and 48h in the rumen liquor. The 48h of fermentation gave a highest production of total protein
production. The growth of tannase producing rumen microbes could be enhanced by inclusion of N-NH3

PROGRAM PEMBIASAAN DALAM MENGUCAPKAN SALAM PADA ANAK TAMAN KANAK KANAK
The habituation program is an icon of learning and forming good behavior for Early Childhood. The process ofperforming to behave good attitudes is given to early childhood by applying of norms in the society. Forexample "The greeting". should have been able to do for the children who have 5-6 years old, but there are stillsome children who have not been able to do it. Another example there are still some children who do not wantto say hello when they are meeting their friends or other people. Based from these problems, the researcherswant to try to overcome them through habituation programs by using audiovisual media. The goal of this studyis to improve the children\u27s performance to apply well greetings when they are meeting to their friends or toother people. The meaning of well greeting is: The children can say greetings correctly, and want to say hellowhen they meet to their friends or to other people. The solution of the problem is: Does the habituation programby seeing of some greeting example in the Audiovisual media can influence to the greeting’s acivement for earlychildhood? The author uses quantitative research by quasi-experimental with types of treatment by subject onegroup design. The pattern of this research is: Pre test – Action of Experiment - Post test. The data collection isused by the performance tests and the observations. The Implementation is The children are asked to say helloand tobe observed when they meet with their friends or with other people. The data analysis uses the statisticalanalysis with the t-test. The results of the study showed that learning with audiovisual impressions of wellbehaviorwasveryeffectiveforearlychildhood.Becauseitcanattracttheattentionofchildren, thematerialis

understood or meaningful for children, and makes some children more active both physically andpsychologically. Another reason that audiovisual media has characteristics: can be seen, can be imitated, canbe felt, and can be heard, so it is very effective in improving habituation programs for early childhood.

The architecture of Balinisation: writings on architecture, the villages, and the construction of Balinese cultural identity in the 20th century
Deposited with permission of the author. © 2007 Dr. Amanda Achmadi.A number of studies of Bali emerging in the last three decades have come to read Balinese culture as a cultural construct that has been invented and reinvented as a means to legitimate power relations on the island (e.g. Schulte Nordholt 1986, 1996, 1999; Vickers 1990; Picard 1996, 1999). Constructions of 'Balinese culture' have been explored and identified as central projects within the island's internal contestation of dominance as well as within the establishment of colonial and postcolonial orders. Despite this scholarly exploration of the discursive nature of 'authentic Balinese culture', public obsession with a traditional Balinese architecture, conceived as an apolitical, exotic, and pre-existing architectural other, prevails. Architecture has been and continues to be an arena within which the notion of authentic Bali is convincingly authorised by its diverse proponents: the Dutch colonial government, the orientalist scholars, the travellers, the architects, and the local elites.
This thesis explores the role of architectural discourses within the construction of identity in 20th century Bali. It investigates the way writings on Bali's architecture and contemporary formations of domestic architecture on the island are implicated by the political imagining of an 'authentic Balinese' cultural identity. Invoking the architecture of Balinisation, this thesis argues that writings and domestic architectural realms are productive fields in which and by which identity and power relations are continuously formulated by those who observe Bali and by the observed 'Balinese' people.
The first half of the thesis demonstrates that dominant writings on Bali's architecture, while claiming to produce an account of the island's 'authentic' architecture, have instead configured a preferred architectural otherness of Bali - the so-called traditional Balinese architecture. Embodying certain notions of Balinese cultural othemess, the invented traditional Balinese architecture secures the sovereignty of the other subject positions occupied by those who write about the island. For orientalist scholars and the colonial government an 'ancient Hindu Balinese' civilisation was a strategic contrast to the political Moslem population of the Netherlands East Indies. For modern intellectuals and tourists a 'spiritual and exotic' Bali is the otherness compensating for their longing for a non-modem realm and 'cultural continuity'. For the local elites, a 'traditional' Bali is an enterprise which asserts and maintains their socio-cultural privileges. Investigating the mechanisms of interpretation and representation of 'Balinese architecture', this thesis demonstrates how architecture is incorporated within the formation of a 'Balinese' other and how it subsequently complicates the process. It explores how the writings carry and maintain certain assumptions regarding Bali's cultural otherness and how they perpetuate certain methodologies in framing the island's built environment. Through this process the writings select and frame preferred architectural examples, organise and narrate their assumed coherence and cultural meaning, and eventually display and simulate an imagined traditional Balinese architecture. This process constraints the 20th century interpretation and production of architecture of the island within fixed notions of identity and tradition, excluding the possibility of further imagining and configuring of new architectural formations in dealing with contemporary conditions of Bali. Such a persistent desire for an architectural authenticity eventually displaces the architectural culture of the island's multifaceted local inhabitants from the discourse about the authentic, which rather coincides with the architectural simulacra of the conceived exotic and spiritual Bali: the expatriate houses and the resorts.
The second half of the thesis explores empirically the way elements of the island's multifaceted local society diversely engage with the enforcement and consumption of the imagined traditional Balinese architecture. It looks at the cases of Ubud, Legian, and Penglipuran, three customary villages which are commonly introduced in tourism discourses as respectively the 'real', the 'polluted', and the pilot project of 'traditional Balinese village'. Examining contemporary formations of houses in these villages, this thesis interprets the way architectural production accommodates the three villages' unfolding contestations of identity. The experiences of Ubud and Legian bring into view identity formulations that are undertaken by respectively the extravagant and the marginal elements of Bali Majapahit society - the dominant segment of Bali's local inhabitants who link their identity to the legendary Hindu Javanese Majapahit kingdom. The experience of Penglipuran - a member of the minority Bali Aga society that maintains an older interpretation of Hinduism - entails a different architectural development that for a while has been exempted from the authorisation and consumption of traditional Balinese architecture. However, as a pilot project of the 1992 Bali Regional Village Tourism Development, the village has had to appropriate its architectural formation according to the more dominant architectural images of the Bali Majapahit society.
Through these two stages of analysis, the thesis re-examines what has been included, excluded, and produced by the Balinisation of architecture in the realms of both writings and domestic architectural sites on the island. Attempting to transcend the debates on cultural and architectural identity in Bali, the thesis offers a rereading of architecture that considers its constructive role within the broader history of 20?1 century Bali. Beyond its well-perceived exotic entity, the thesis argues that architecture in Bali is a site wherein identity can be observed as both a construct and a means of becoming. Through writings on architecture and productions of domestic architecture, 'Balinese culture' is continuously imagined and appropriated by observers of Bali and also by the island's multifaceted local society. Destabilising the canonical conceptions of Bali's otherness and cultural authenticity, domestic architecture offers a space wherein a dynamic imagining of the island's culture and self that oscillates with time can be reclaimed
NILAI-NILAI SUBSTANSIAL DALAM MACAPAT Substansial Values of The Sekar Macapat
ABSTRACT
Sekar Macapat is one kind of traditional Javanese poems which is used by poets to express their works. The purpose of this research is twofold. First, it is to systematize the ethics of the Sekar Macapat. It is expected that the systemization can formulate psichological values of kindness which enables to be a bases for human behavior. Second, it is top place ethical values of Sekar Macapat in the body of ethical theories in general.
It is a library research, in which the data were analyzed and interpreted by means of descriptive, analitical (critical), and idealistic method. The descriptive method is used to reveal the substantial values of Sekar Macapat. The analysis method is used to find out the relationship and the similarity of concepts of the Sekar Macapat, while the idealistic method is used to construct the ethical concept of the Sekar Macapat. The data were collected from the works of Sri Mangkunegara IV and other author of Sekar Macapat.
The result of the data analysis shows highly substantial values of the Sekar Macapat. They are moral values that are mentally and spiritually useful for human kinds. Since the moral values are based on high values, they are expected to bring about a better life. The high values can be used to socialize human values in accordance with the second principle of Pancasila (the live principles), that is just and civilized humanity.
Sekar Macapat contains educative values that are useful for life. The values will guide human kinds to behave in a good manner in order to achieve an ideal man, i.e. possessing such characters as low profile, well-behavior, wisdom, and courtesy. The moral norms containing high values in the Sekar Macapat is counted as the Eudemonism.

SIMON’S MOTIVATION IN SOLVING HIS PROBLEMS AS THE VICTIM OF A BROKEN FAMILY AS REFLECTED IN FINE’S FLOUR BABIES
TITIK ANDARWATI. C1305542. Simon’s Motivation in Solving His Problems as the Victim of a
Broken Family as Reflected in Fine’s Flour Babies. Thesis: English Department. Faculty of
Letters and Fine Arts. Sebelas Maret University.
This thesis analyzed Simon Martin’s motivation in solving his problems as the victim of a
broken family. Simon was a 14 year old adolescent who was angry inside that it gave effect to his
behavior. He became one of the students of class 4C which was a class for the underachievers and those
who had behavioral problems. His father walked away when he was only six weeks old. There were
disappointed moments and events that he had to experience because of his father’s absent. Once, he got
a project from his school as the contribution to the school’s Science Fair. It was flour babies – sacks of
flour that had to be treated as a real baby. It taught the students about the responsibility and being
parents. The project made Simon opened the years wound rooted on his father’s absent. During the
period of caring the flour baby, he found the reasons why his father walked for good. He finally got the
answer and started to understand his father’s decision. It made him able to continue his life without a
burden he had inside.
This research employed psychological approach to answer the problem statements. In this
research, the source of the data was the novel Flour Babies by Anne Fine. The data in this analysis
could be grouped into two categories: the primary (which were the narrations and dialogues between
the characters and also the monologues that described the characteristics of the character, Simon
Martin) and the secondary data (which consisted of several criticism and articles about the novel and
the author that gave relevant information to the analysis). The problems that became the main concern
of this research were to know what motivated Simon Martin to solve his problem and how did he solve
his problems. The objectives if this research were to describe Simon Martin’s motivation and to
describe his ways in solving the problems.
After conducting the analysis by using Abraham Maslow’s theory of Human Motivation, the
researcher found that there were some needs that were not able to be fulfilled which, then, became the
motivations in Simon’s life. These needs, especially the deep desire of being protected (Safety Needs),
being loved (Love and Belongingness Needs), and being proud and appreciated (Self Esteem Needs)
encouraged Simon to finish his problems and continued his life. On the other hand, the fact that Simon
was in an adolescence period also influenced him to solve his problems as the victim of a broken

Background. The condition of a construction project which full of workers, with their 8 hours of working time and the number of vehicles carrying building materials in and out to the site causing the workers to be susceptible to affected Acute Respiratory Infection Symptom due to exposure to PM10 continuously. Based on this research, the author raised the issue of the association between PM10 dust level concentration with the case of Acute Respiratory Infection symptom in construction project workers in Depok. Methods. This research uses Cross Sectional study by taking samples from 100 respondents. Results. The average PM10 measurement result at 7 points inside the building and outside building is 159,43 g / m3. The average age of the workers in the construction project is 35 years old with the youngest age is 21 years old and the oldest is 65 years old. In general, workers work for 12 hours per day and almost of them have been working in the project for 1 year. The number of workers who have smoking habit in construction project are 65 people (65,7%) and 34 people (34,3%) who don’t have smoking habit. The amount of workers who have symptoms of ARI there are 80 people (80.8%) and 19 people (19.2%) who do not have symptoms of ARI. Conclusions. Based on the results of this study, there should be awareness of the workers to always use Personal Protective Equipment while working in the construction project and there should be attention from the project managers about their workers health and safety especially for construction project in Depok
Estimating the health effects of air pollutants : a method with an application to Jakarta
To develop efficient strategies for pollution control, it is essential to assess both the costs of control and the benefits that may result. These benefits will often included improvements in public health, including reductions in both morbidity and premature mortality. Until recently, there has been little guidance about how to calculate the benefits of air pollution controls and how to use those estimates to assign priorities to different air pollution control strategies. The author describes a method for quantifying the benefits of reduced ambient concentrations of pollutants (such as ozone and particulate matter) typically found in urban areas worldwide. The author then applies the method to data on Jakarta, Indonesia, an area characterized by little wind, high population concentration (8 million people), congested roads, and ambient air pollution. The magnitude of the benefits of pollution control depend on the level of air pollution, the expected effects on health of the pollutants (dose-response), the size of the population affected and the economic value of these effects. The results for Jakarta suggest that significant benefits result from reducing exposure to both outdoor and indoor air pollutants. For example, if annual concentrations of particulate matter were reduced to the midpoint of the World Health Organization guideline (and former U.S. ambient standard), the estimates indicate a reduction per year of 1,400 premature deaths (with a range of 900 to 1,900), 49,000 emergency room visits, 600,000 asthma attacks, 7.6 million restricted activity days (including work loss), 124,000 cases of bronchitis in children, and 37 million minor respiratory symptoms. In the case of Jakarta, the methodology suggests that reducing exposure to lead and nitrogen dioxide should also be a high priority. An important consequence of ambient lead pollution is a reduction in learning abilities for children, measured as I.Q loss. Apart from that, reducing the proportion of respirable particles can reduce the amount of illness and premature mortality. Clearly, air pollution represents a significant public health hazard to residents of Jakarta and other cities consistently exposed to high levels of air pollution, such as Bangkok, Mexico City, and Santiago, Chile.Health Monitoring&Evaluation,Montreal Protocol,Air Quality&Clean Air,Environmental Economics&Policies,Pollution Management&Control
