    Measurements of B→D_s^+X decays

    No full text
This paper describes new measurements from CLEO of the inclusive B→D_s^+X branching fraction as well as the B^+→D_s^((*)+)D^((*)0) and B^0→D_s^((*)+)D^((*)-) branching fractions. The inclusive branching fraction is B(B→D_s^+X)=(12.11±0.39±0.88±1.38)% where the first error is statistical, the second is the systematic error, and the third is the error due to the uncertainty in the D_s^+→φπ^+ branching fraction. The branching fractions for the B→D_s^((*)+)D^(*) modes are found to be between 0.9% and 2.4% and are significantly more precise than previous measurements. The sum of the B→D_s^((*)+)D^(*) branching fractions is consistent with the results of fits to the inclusive D_s^+ momentum spectrum. Factorization is used to arrive at a value for f_D_s, the D_s^+ decay constant

    We present the final results on the D-meson liftime measurements obtained by the NA27 experiment. From a sample of 145 D0 D0 and 149 D± decays, we have measured τ(D0)=(4.6+0.6-0.5)×10-1 3 s, τ(D±)=(11.2+1.4-1.1)×1 0-13 s, with a ratio R= τ(D±) τ(D0)=2.4±0.4. © 1987.0SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe

    We present a model-independent measurement of B(D → φπ )/B(D → K π ) by partially reconstructing the decay B̄ → D* D* . Using data collected with the CLEO II detector at CESR, we determine B(D → φπ )/B(D → K π ) = 0.92 ± 0.20(stat.) ± 0.11(syst.). Our measurement of B(D → A:~TT+) then gives B(DT → φπ) = (3.59 ± 0.77 ± 0.48)%. - - 0 - + 0 + - - - 0 - + 0 - s s

    D MESON PRODUCTION FROM 400-GeV/c p p INTERACTIONS

    No full text
We have measured the inclusive production properties of D and View the MathML source messons produced from pp interactions at View the MathML source. The differential production cross section is well represented by the empirical form View the MathML source, and the inclusive View the MathML source cross section σView the MathML source is (30.2±3.3) ωb. The QCD fusion model predicts View the MathML source production which is in good agreement with our data except for the magnitude of the cross section which depends sensitively on the assumed mass of the charm quark
