Representasi Sikap dan Pergerakan Organisasi-Organisasi dalam Novel Rumah Kaca (Analisis Wacana Kritis)
This research takes object in novel Rumah Kaca that is Attitude and Movement of Organization which represented by its author, Pramoedya Ananta Toer. Attitudes and movements what it mean is primarily against colonialism and all its
supporting institutions. The organizations are, among the others; Sjarikat Islam, Boedi Molejo (Budi Utomo), Indische Partij, and also about the imaging of the leadership of each the organizations. Then to find out deeply and extensively, not only the text (Novel Rumah Kaca) is merely analyzed but also about the author and the context of the creation of the novel. For that researcher use Critical Discourse Analysis with model analysis of Teun A. Van Dijk. This model of
analysis outlines three dimensions; text analysis, analysis of social cognition, and analysis of social context. Data collection using documentation method and literature study, while data analysis using introspective and corpus analysis
method. The results themselves find in the first dimension (text) that the author tends to side with his organizations and leadership that are subversive and radical against the Dutch colonial government. Conversely, whoever being submissively even moderate ones are depicted badly by not giving importance to freedom from colonialism. In the second dimension (social cognition) researcher knows the author as a rationalist who tends to Marxism. He-himself claimed to be neither a Marxist nor a man who rejected colonialism and capitalism. Whereas in the third dimension (social context), he became a political prisoner while working on his works, and when he left prison and published all his works, the government at that time immediately prohibited the publication of all his works including this novel

Politics of Female Identity in Traditional Java through the Prism of Pramoedya A. Toer’s Gadis Pantai
Identity is political rather than natural. It is always influenced by the politics of race, class, gender, religion, education, disability, and so on. This paper examines the complexity of political forces that shape female identity at the beginning of the 20th century Java and the reaction the women show in response to the circumstances where they find themselves, with reference to Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s Gadis Pantai. The novel, which is based on the true story of his own grandmother, portrays the life of a practice wife of priyayi, the hereditary governing class of Java. Using interpretive analysis and close reading of the text, the study argues that feudal and patriarchal circumstances help shape female identity in the 20th century Java. Women are doubly discriminated; they find themselves subject to higher powers, i.e. the powers of the feudal lord and the male. However, throughout the novel, the author displays a brand-new female image different from the socially dominant discourses, an image that has qualities of rebellious fervor to trouble the discriminating social category of identity
Proses Penciptaan Dan Penyajian Karya Patung Publik Pada Jogja Street Sculpture Project #5
The Jogja Street Sculpture Project (JSSP) exhibition is a programme by the Indonesian Sculptors Association (API) in collaboration with the Culture Service in the form of a public sculpture. The fifth JSSP, with the theme Ruwat Gatra Rasa: Redefining Form and Space, is located along Jalan Malioboro. The author researches the creative process of creating and presenting public sculpture using a qualitative descriptive method with an approach to the theory of the creation process, the theory of the function of art, the presentation of public sculpture, and the elements of sculpture. Data collection was carried out through a literature review, interviews, and observations. Public interest is present in four stages of creation, (1) Pre-Design, (2) Design, (3) Realization, and (4) Presentation. Aspects of public response are also explained, where anticipation of public interaction is also taken into account in the process of creating works exhibited by artists and the organizing committee. In the presentation aspect, the author examines the elements of sculpture that are present, the public response, and improvements made by the artist.
The image of the Incarnation as motif for development practice in West Java, Indonesia
Beginning with the proposition that the incarnation is not simply theologically descriptive but also strategically prescriptive, this thesis proposes utilising this motif in
order to analyse and critique participatory development practice as it is undertaken today, both by Christians as well as those who are not. After first illustrating the value of incarnational involvement by presenting the results of field research undertaken amongst a particular community of the Sundanese people residing in a specific hamlet in the city of Tasikmalaya, West Java, Indonesia, a template comprised of six distinguishing marks and three overarching characteristics is then developed in order to appraise the Incarnational motif in terms of its tangible applicability. Thereafter, four disciplines are examined and appraised in terms of their incarnational, participatory value-the discipline of development studies (focussing on the work of Robert Chambers), the discipline of anthropology (focussing on the work of Clifford Geertz), the logic of Critical Theory (focussing on the work of Jürgen Habermas) and the thought of a leading Indonesian Islamic theorist, Abdurrahman Wahid. Key, buttressing points in each of these are selected as sources of validation for the incarational motif. Furthermore, the image of participation found in each is critiqued by comparing them to the six distinguishing marks and the three overarching characteristics. Finally, a tangible example of incarnational participation previously undertaken in West Java, Indonesia by the author is offered as a picture of how the incarnational thesis might be utilised in
social practice. Both the complexities encountered as well as promises experienced are highlighted so as to present a realistic and useful model
