No full textThis study describes when Islam entered and developed into the interior/uluan in Empat Lawang, South Sumatra. Islam as a peaceful religion enters the interior / uluan peacefully as well. Since Islamization in Aceh began, Islam was spread by scholars until it finally entered Palembang and reached the hinterland/uluan. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive analytical approach. In the formation of Islamic civilization in Empat Lawang, the role of the Musi River has a very important role, as the lifeblood of the economy has attracted several nations to come to Palembang and to the interior/uluan. Among these nations are those who are already Muslim. Because Islam is one of the da\u27wah religions, the Islamic traders have a mission to spread Islam to every resident they visit using the river route. In addition to trade, marriage is also a way of da\u27wah to spread Islam in uluan. Traces of Islam in Empat Lawang is evidenced by the discovery of uluan manuscripts in Empat Lawang, the qodhim mosque, Al quran Kumbang, sticks of puyang Kedhum.
Penelitian ini menjelaskan dan mendeskripsikan tentang kapan Islam masuk dan berkembang ke pedalaman/uluan di Empat Lawang, Sumatera Selatan. Islam sebagai agama yang damai masuk ke pedalaman/uluan dengan damai pula. Sejak Islamisasi di Aceh dimulai Islam pun disebarkan oleh para ulama-ulama hingga akhirnya masuk ke Palembang dan sampai ke pedalaman/uluan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analitis. Dalam pembentukan peradaban Islam di EmpatLawang, peranan Sungai Musi memiliki peran yang sangat penting, sebagai urat nadi perekonomian telah menarik beberapa bangsa untuk datang ke Palembang dan ke pedalaman/uluan. Di antara bangsa-bangsa itu adalah mereka yang sudah beragama Islam. Karena Islam dalah salah satu agama dakwah, maka para pedagang Islam itu mempunyai misi untuk menyebarkan agama Islam ke setiap penduduk yang dikunjunginya menggunakan jalur sungai. Selain perdagangan, perkawinan juga menjadi salah satu cara dakwah untuk menyebarkan Islam di uluan. Jejak Islam di EmpatLawang dibuktikan dengan ditemukannya naskah-naskah uluan di Empat Lawang, masjid qodhim ,quran Kumbang , tongkat puyang Kedhum.Kata Kunci: Islam, Pedalaman/uluan, Empat Lawan
Strategic Da'wah Approaches By Lpbi Nu In Environmental Empowerment :: A Case Study on Waste Management
Full text linkThis article explores the strategic da'wah approaches implemented by the Disaster and Climate Change Management Agency of Nahdlatul Ulama (LPBI NU) in empowering communities through waste management. This case study highlights how LPBI NU integrates da'wah principles with environmental programs to address social and ecological issues in Indonesia. Through a holistic approach, LPBI NU not only educates the public on the importance of proper waste management but also promotes behavioral change by reinforcing religious values. The research employs a qualitative method with an ethnographic approach to explore field dynamics, including the interaction between da'wah agents and communities, as well as the impact of these empowerment programs on social change at the community level. The findings indicate that the da'wah strategies employed by LPBI NU successfully raise environmental awareness and foster active participation in waste management among the community. This article contributes to da'wah studies by offering a new perspective on how da'wah strategies can be integrated with environmental empowerment programs. It also demonstrates how religious organizations can play a vital role in promoting environmental sustainability through da'wah-based approaches
Revitalisasi Masjid melalui Kepedulian Sosial Lembaga Takmir Masjid Nahdlatul \u27Ulama (LTM NU) terhadap Komunitas Pengemudi

Nowdays, however, the function and role of the mosque are dwarfed only as a place of ritual worship. The Mosque management Organization of Nahdlatul \u27Ulama Mosque (LTM NU) revitalize the function of the mosque through social awareness activities for the community. This study describes LTM NU\u27s social awareness activities towards driver community in Central Jakarta as part of the mosque revitalization effort. This study uses qualitative methods and descriptive analysis by collecting data through participant observation, interviews with stakeholders of LTM NU and the driver community in Central Jakarta, and data analysis using triangulation. The results of the study show that: 1) LTM NU has a sustainable program of revitalization for maximizing mosque functions. 2) LTM NU succeeded in conducting da\u27wah activities to the driver community through persuasive da\u27wah communication that created da\u27wah civilization. This research contributes to the development of da\u27wah science, especially the study of Islamic community development.Peradaban Islam dibangun dengan menjadikan masjid sebagai sentrum kegiatan umat Islam. Namun saat ini fungsi dan peran masjid dikerdilkan hanya menjadi tempat ibadah ritual semata. Lembaga Takmir Masjid Nahdlatul \u27Ulama (LTM NU) berupaya melakukan revitalisasi fungsi masjid melalui kegiatan kepedulian sosial kepada masyarakat. Penelitian ini menjelaskan  kegiatan kepedulian sosial LTM NU terhadap komunitas pengemudi di Jakarta Pusat sebagai bagian dari upaya revitalisasi masjid.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif  dan analisis  deskritif dengan pengumpulan data melalui participant observation, wawancara dengan informan stakeholder LTM NU serta komunitas  pengemudi di Jakarta Pusat, dan analisis data dilakukan dengan triangulasi. No full textIn developing themselves, students are required to have the ability to speak in public. Self-confidence is important for a student to have in order to be able to improve communication techniques as a form of cadre training for preaching training. This article describes efforts to develop public speaking among students in muhadharah activities at the Yanbuul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Siak Riau. The purpose of this writing is to find out the extent to which muhaharah activities for students have an impact when speaking in public. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with 7 informants consisting of the Islamic boarding school principal, supervisor and 5 santri. The results of the research show that 1) Routine muhadharah activities for students are able to change the mentality of students who previously lacked self-confidence to become more confident. 2) Students are able to overcome obstacles in public speaking and can speak fluently in public. 3) In giving speeches, students can be creative in choosing materials and methods of preaching each week according to the events required. Muhadharah activities at the Yanbuul Ulum Islamic boarding school, Siak Riau are very effective in training students' public speaking. Students are more confident when giving speeches and are creative in choosing preaching methods according to the needs of the event. Students are expected to be able to develop themselves into professional da'wah agents

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
