Adaptation of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Curriculum: Cultural Integration and Da\u27wah
The Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program implements the MBKM curriculum by integrating inclusive and contextual cultural and da\u27wah values, where the MBKM policy demands adaptive and contextual curriculum innovation. The differences in cultural backgrounds between UIN Prof. K.H. Saifuddin Zuhri Purwokerto (Javanese culture) and UIN Sultan Aji Muhammad Idris Samarinda (Dayak and Malay culture) are an opportunity to develop a curriculum based on cultural integration and da\u27wah. This study aims to explore the adaptation of the MBKM curriculum of the Islamic Guidance and Counseling (BKI) study program based on cultural integration and da\u27wah. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies of study program managers at both institutions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the MBKM curriculum based on cultural integration and da\u27wah in the BKI Study Program at UIN Saizu Purwokerto and UINSI Samarinda can broaden students\u27 horizons in understanding the socio-cultural dynamics of society. This curriculum encourages students to be more sensitive to the local context in counseling and da\u27wah practices, and to develop an inclusive and contextual approach. Cultural integration in the curriculum not only improves students\u27 cross-cultural competence but also strengthens local wisdom-based preaching strategies that are relevant to the spirit of MBKM
Spiritual Transformation and Mental Fortification: An Analysis of Tariqat Al-Rifa\u27iyah\u27s Contribution to the Psychological Development of Da\u27i from Zuhud to Shaja\u27ah
Tariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah is a mu\u27tabarah tariqat (connected to the Prophet Muhammad), which is spread throughout the world, including in Indonesia. The development of Thariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah teachings is growing rapidly in various provinces. The interesting thing to research in thariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah is the process of fostering the saliknya towards an attitude of shaja\u27ah (courageous for defending the truth). The purpose of this research is to gain clarity about the movement of thariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah as a zuhud thariqat, in fostering shaja\u27ah. Tariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah succeeded in contributing to the cultivation of the soul of shaja\u27ah. For this reason, researchers prove its success which has differences with other coaching patterns. This research uses qualitative method to explain the role of Tariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah in coaching towards shaja\u27ah attitude. The description includes the results of interviews with several practitioners of thariqat Rifa\u27iyah in Cianjur and Banten. Researchers use the theory of Sufism in conducting research. Because the connection of human soul development in Islamic teachings is carried out by Sufis and benefits as an addition to the scientific treasures of Islamic psychotherapy. The results obtained are that thariqat al-Rifa\u27iyah is a zuhud thariqat that is directed to contribute courage through special spiritual development. This coaching can apparently be included in the thariqat-based Sufistic therapy method

The Transformation of Tablighi Jamaat\u27s Da\u27wah: Digital Adaptation and Political Engagement in Indonesia
This research examines the evolving da\u27wah dynamics among Tablighi Jamaat adherents in Indonesia. Founded by Muhammad Ilyas Al-Kandahlawi in India in 1926, this transnational movement has significantly impacted Indonesia\u27s Islamic landscape through systematic propagation practices including khuruj (preaching journeys), jaulah (local rounds), and chillah (40-day periods). The movement\u27s da\u27wah methodologies are rooted in Jamaat tradition, transmitted through written texts, particularly Fadhailul A\u27mal, and oral bayan (lectures) by amirs (leaders). This investigation addresses a scholarly gap by uncovering transformative shifts in Tablighi Jamaat\u27s da\u27wah practices—previously underexplored areas that reveal how traditional Islamic missionary methods adapt to contemporary Indonesian contexts while maintaining doctrinal authenticity. Using qualitative analysis, this study demonstrates that da\u27wah exhibits inherent dynamism, evolving alongside cultural and civilizational advancements. This dynamism is evident in Tablighi Jamaat\u27s traditions, where the movement maintains strict adherence to core principles while implementing modifications in practical application methods. The findings reveal notable conceptual adaptability in how current followers execute da\u27wah activities, representing a balance between preserving traditional methodology and responding to contemporary challenges. This adaptability demonstrates the movement\u27s capacity to navigate modern contexts without compromising fundamental beliefs. The study contributes new insights into the intersection of traditional Islamic practices and contemporary Indonesian society, showing how religious movements maintain authenticity while embracing necessary adaptations. However, the research acknowledges methodological limitations and restricted thematic scope, indicating areas requiring further exploration in future research endeavors to fully understand these complex transformation processes
The Role and Da’wah Strategies of Islamic Religious Counselors in Enhancing the Religiosity of Women at the Al-Hidayah Taklim Assembly
This study aims to analyze the role and dakwah strategies of Islamic religious counselors in enhancing the religiosity of women in the Al-Hidayah Taklim Assembly. The research focuses on how religious counselors utilize various methods of da\u27wah to educate, guide, and strengthen the understanding and practice of Islamic teachings among women. A qualitative approach was employed in this study, with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The main informants in this research were religious counselors, while key and additional informants included taklim assembly participants, administrators, and local religious leaders. The findings reveal that religious counselors play a central role in motivating and guiding women to better understand and practice Islamic teachings through various da\u27wah methods, such as lectures, memorization, question-and-answer sessions, and personal mentoring. These regular and intensive da\u27wah strategies have proven to improve the religiosity of women, strengthen social bonds among the congregation, and enhance the quality of their worship. Additionally, support from families, local government, and religious leaders plays a significant role in facilitating the work of religious counselors. However, challenges such as weather conditions and psychological factors of the congregation need to be addressed to further enhance the effectiveness of da\u27wah. The implications of this study suggest that well-planned and continuous da\u27wah can have a significant impact on creating a more religious community, especially among the women of the Al-Hidayah Taklim Assembly

Da\u27wah and Commodification of Religion in West Java Broadcasting Institutions
This research aims to analyze the ideology underlying the operation of religion-based broadcasting institutions and how the process of commodification of da\u27wah occurs in West Java. Using a qualitative approach and case studies, this study examines three Broadcasting Institutions in Bandung, Cirebon, and Tasikmalaya, which were selected based on their active involvement in da\u27wah broadcasting and wide audience reach. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, field observations, and analysis of the content of the da\u27wah program for six months. The results of the study show that da\u27wah has undergone a transformation from a spiritual function to a media product that is packaged according to market interests and dominant ideologies. Commodification occurs in three aspects: broadcast content, audiences as commodities and sources of funds, and media labor that acts as a capitalistic production apparatus. This research confirms that Broadcasting Institutions in West Java not only prioritize educational functions in da\u27wah, but also make religion an economic and ideological instrument to maintain its existence in the midst of competition in the broadcasting industry. These findings contribute to the study of the political economy of the media and become an important reference for policymakers in balancing commercial interests and da\u27wah functions in the media
Trends in Television Da\u27wah Research in Indonesia
This study aims to identify and analyze the trend of television da\u27wah studies in Indonesia using a systematic literature review (SLR) approach. A total of 153 articles were initially identified, of which 20 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the final analysis of television da\u27wah published in the 2009–2023 period. The analysis uses the selection, classification of themes, and synthesis of findings. The results of the study show that 65% of articles still focus on the conceptual aspects of television da\u27wah, especially related to history, the characteristics of television as a da\u27wah medium, and the role of da\u27wah actors. Meanwhile, 25% of the research focused on the issue of the commodification of da\u27wah including the formation of new religious authorities and audience responses to television da\u27wah content that tends to prioritize entertainment over educational functions. In contrast, only 10% of the studies examined the use of information and communication technology in television da\u27wah, showing a significant research gap. These findings have theoretical implications for the need to develop a framework for studying television da\u27wah that is not only oriented to normative approaches and media political economy, but also integrates communication technology perspectives. Practically, this study provides recommendations for media practitioners and producers of Islamic religious programs to optimize the use of digital technology to improve the quality, interactivity, and educational function of Islamic religious programs on television. The novelty of this research lies in the systematic mapping of the technological gap in Islamic religious programs on Indonesian television, which can be the basis for further research and development of Islamic religious programs on television that are adaptive to the digital era
Integrating Media Literacy in Da\u27wah: Effective Communication Strategies for Religious Counselors in Preventing Early Marriage
Early marriage remains a serious issue in West Nias Regency, particularly affecting young girls. Religious instructors, as respected community figures, are seen as vital agents in preventing early marriage through education based on religious values. However, challenges such as limited digital access, low media proficiency, and generational communication gaps reduce their effectiveness, especially in reaching youth influenced by social media. This study explores how media literacy can enhance religious instructors\u27 role in early marriage prevention. Using a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach and qualitative methods, the study engaged 28 participants—including instructors, community leaders, and youth—through interviews, FGDs, and observations. Results show that instructors trained in basic digital skills used tools like WhatsApp, Facebook, and video editing apps to create religious-themed videos and interactive content. These methods significantly improved youth engagement. One instructor noted, “After learning how to use videos and infographics, more teenagers listened and asked questions.” The study concludes that media literacy is a key communication strategy, not just a technical skill. It enables instructors to connect more effectively with younger audiences and address sensitive topics like early marriage. Two key recommendations are: (1) establish ongoing, tailored media literacy training for religious instructors, and (2) build partnerships with schools and youth organizations to develop collaborative digital campaigns. These strategies can empower religious instructors to become more dynamic, youth-friendly communicators and help reduce early marriage in West Nias
Analysis of Digital Da\u27wah Ideology on Social Media: A Case Study of Preaching Actors on Youtube
This study analyzes the ideology of digital preaching on YouTube delivered by Ustaz Firanda Andirja, Ustaz Abdul Somad, Ustaz Adi Hidayat, and Emha Ainun Nadjib (Cak Nun). Using a Social Network Analysis (SNA) approach, the research explores the social dynamics emerging from interactions in the comment sections of their preaching videos. The findings identify four dominant ideologies: literalist Islamism, which creates schisms in contextual and ethical preaching elements (Ustaz Firanda Andirja); nationalist Islamism, which causes schisms in contextual and comparative elements (Ustaz Abdul Somad); modernist Islamism, which generates schisms in historical elements (Ustaz Adi Hidayat); and conservative Islamism, which triggers schisms in contextual and ethical elements (Emha Ainun Nadjib). This study demonstrates that digital preaching content not only reflects the ideologies of the preachers but also significantly influences public opinion on social media. The findings highlight the importance of understanding ideological dimensions in digital preaching to address social dynamics more effectively
