Pemikiran Imam Al-Ghazali tentang Metode Mujadalah

This study aims to analyze Imam Al-Ghazali’s thought on the mujadalah method (intellectual dialogue or debate) as an approach in Islamic da’wah. The concept of mujadalah according to Al-Ghazali is rooted in the Qur’anic principle of calling to the way of Allah with wisdom, good advice, and the best form of debate, as stated in Surah An-Nahl (16:125). This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, examining Al-Ghazali’s major works such as Ihya’ Ulum al-Din, Tahafut al-Falasifah, and Al-Iqtisad fi al-I‘tiqad through Paul Ricoeur’s hermeneutic framework. The findings reveal that Al-Ghazali’s concept of mujadalah originates from a synthesis of revelation (naql), reason (‘aql), and spiritual experience (dzauq). Methodologically, mujadalah serves not merely as intellectual contestation but as a means of pursuing truth. Al-Ghazali emphasizes ethical dialogue, sincerity of intention, and moral decorum in argumentative discourse. This study concludes that Al-Ghazali’s notion of mujadalah remains highly relevant in contemporary da’wah, offering a model for rational, ethical, and spiritually grounded communication. Furthermore, it contributes to the development of Islamic communication studies by integrating rationality and spirituality within da’wah methodology

One of the challenges in contemporary Islamic preaching in Indonesia is the emergence of movements that implement amar ma’ruf nahi munkar through controversial methods. This study focuses on the Islamic Defenders Front (Front Pembela Islam/FPI), a group that actively promotes moral enforcement while often facing public criticism for its confrontational approach. The research aims to analyze the history, vision, and role of FPI in implementing amar ma’ruf nahi munkar as a form of da’wah activity. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews, documentation, and field observations in Cijulang Village, where FPI conducts religious and social activities. The population consisted of FPI members and local residents, with a purposive sample of ten FPI members and five community representatives. The research seeks to understand how FPI performs its da’wah mission and how the community perceives its presence. Findings reveal that while FPI’s da’wah aims to strengthen Islamic values, its confrontational methods often trigger social tension. The study concludes that FPI needs to adopt a more persuasive and educational da’wah approach to align its religious goals with social harmony, promoting an inclusive and peaceful Islamic movement in Indonesia

This study aims to examine the preaching techniques (khithabah) of K.H. Q. Ahmad Syahid in the development of Islamic tabligh, focusing on his roles, delivery style, methods, and strategies. As both a renowned qori and charismatic preacher, K.H. Q. Ahmad Syahid emphasized that Qur’anic recitation should not be limited to its aesthetic dimension but must be accompanied by an understanding of meaning and contextual relevance to the audience’s life. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and literature review. Data analysis was conducted using a qualitative approach to identify recurring themes. Theoretically, the study draws on communication and Islamic preaching theories, particularly khithabah as rhetoric and persuasive communication (Subandi, 1994; Wahyu Ilaihi, 2010). The findings reveal four key points: (1) his preaching encompassed both irsyad (guidance) and tabligh (public dissemination), within pesantren and broader society; (2) his delivery style combined Qur’anic recitation, interpretation, and systematic rhetoric; (3) his methods were flexible, integrating storytelling, role modeling, and audience participation; and (4) his strategies emphasized contextualization of messages, utilization of socio-religious events, cadre development through pesantren, and personal exemplarity. This study concludes that K.H. Q. Ahmad Syahid’s khithabah represents an effective, relevant, and transformative model of Islamic preaching

Metode Tabligh Terhadapa Siswa-Siswi Madrasah Tsanawiyah Citatah

This study aims to analyze the implementation of tabligh methods in shaping the religious understanding and practices of students at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Mukhtariyah Citatah, Bandung Barat. The research is grounded in theories of adolescent development (Borring E.G., Monks, Pikunas) and Islamic communication and tabligh (Ibrahim Imam, Quraish Shihab, Hasjmi, Musthafa Malaikah). Adolescence is considered a transitional stage marked by identity search and vulnerability to external influences, making religious education crucial. Tabligh, defined as the transmission of Islamic teachings based on the Qur’an and Sunnah, is operationalized through three main methods: tabsyir (positive motivation), tandzir (warnings), and routine religious study sessions. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews with teachers and students, and documentation. The findings reveal that the madrasah applies tabsyir by providing encouragement and appreciation, tandzir by reminding students of the consequences of neglecting religious duties, and routine study sessions to habituate Qur’an recitation and prayer. Supporting factors include the strategic location, teachers’ pesantren background, and community support, while inhibiting factors involve limited facilities, low student numbers, lack of concentration, and weak discipline among teachers. Despite these challenges, the tabligh methods have significantly improved students’ motivation, Qur’an literacy, prayer discipline, and overall religious knowledge. The study concludes that balanced tabligh methods can effectively strengthen adolescent religiosity even in resource-limited educational contexts
