Validation of a Multidimensional Spiritual Guidance Intensity Instrument: Examining Content Validity Using Aiken\u27s V and Likert-Based Item Analysis

This study examines the content validity of the spiritual guidance intensity instrument through expert judgment from five Islamic counseling and psychology experts. A total of 48 items were analyzed using Aiken\u27s V formula. The results showed that 39 items (81.25%) were declared acceptable and 9 items (18.75%) were acceptable with minor revisions, indicating good content validity for the entire instrument. This indicates that all items have good content validity and are suitable for use. This study confirms that behavioural and observable dimensions tend to have higher and more consistent content validity than experiential or transformational dimensions. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of spiritual guidance measurement instruments with an evidence-based approach through content validation. This study is the first to test the feasibility of spiritual guidance intensity instruments based on expert judgement

This study aims to explore in depth the role of moral critical thinking in facing contemporary challenges in da\u27wah, particularly in the context of spiritual counselling. Using a qualitative approach, this study examined the subjective experiences of da\u27wah practitioners, spiritual counsellors and religious leaders through semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions and document analysis. Through thematic analysis, the study sought to identify major emergent  themes related to the application of moral critical thinking in da\u27wah practice. The primary goal of this study is to emphasise the importance of moral critical thinking in ensuring that da\u27wah remains an effective tool for social transformation in the modern era, particularly in the face of challenges such as globalisation, pluralism, and rapid technological development. The findings highlight the significance of moral critical thinking in tackling modern issues in da\u27wah from a spiritual counselling approach. Through in-depth analysis of data collected from interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis, several key themes emerged, highlighting the need for da\u27wah practitioners to develop critical thinking skills in navigating the complexities of the digital age, addressing social injustices, and fostering peace and resilience. By integrating moral critical thinking with spiritual counselling, da\u27wah practitioners can effectively address contemporary challenges, promote ethical engagement, and make meaningful contributions to the spiritual and social well-being of individuals and communities

Islamic Word of Mouth: The Role of Da\u27wah and Community in Promoting Islamic Educational Institutions

One promotional approach that has proven effective and cost-effective is the Word of Mouth (WOM) strategy, namely the dissemination of information or experiences from one individual to another, verbally or digitally. Institutions need to have a mechanism for clarification, media literacy, and Islamic communication education so that the spread of WOM remains ethical and truthful. The results of the study are that Word of Mouth (WOM) is a very effective communication strategy in promoting Islamic educational institutions. However, from an Islamic perspective, WOM is not merely a promotional tool, but also a medium for da\u27wah that conveys the truth, spreads goodness, and strengthens the image of the institution ethically and spiritually. The implementation of Islamic Word of Mouth requires the involvement of all stakeholders, especially internal communities such as teachers, parents of students, alumni, and local community leaders. The role of this community is the main force in creating authentic, memorable, and sustainable promotions. The practice of Islamic WOM must be based on the values of da\u27wah, namely conveying correct information, not exaggerating, not containing slander, and always prioritizing etiquette. Promotion based on positive experiences and role models is far more effective than formal advertising because it has deep emotional and spiritual power

The Rise and Fall of Sunni-Shia Relations in Indonesia: The in-Between Theology, Political-Economics, and Da\u27wah

This study discusses the dynamics of the relationship between Sunnis and Shiites in Indonesia, which are sometimes tense, but generally harmonious. This study is qualitative-research using a literature review method. To sharpen the analysis of the discussion of the dynamics of Sunnis-Shiites, interdisciplinary research is used in the study of religions. The results of this study indicate that the main factor causing tension between Shiites vis-à-vis Sunnis is due to the doctrine of the Imamate which is the belief of the Shiites themselves. This doctrinal difference is what gives rise to other elementary factors such as politics and economics. That the elements of doctrine, politics and economics make the relationship between Sunnis and Shiites in Indonesia even more complicated. The three are intertwined in such a way that the Sunni-Shiite conflict develops in various regions of Indonesia. However, this study also shows a relatively harmonious relationship process between Sunnis and Shiites in various regions of Indonesia. The harmonization process between the two camps with different ideologies occurs at the grassroots level. This study recommends the process of strengthening cultural da\u27wah as one of the harmonization strategies among religious communities in Indonesia

The Spiritual Dimension of The Naqsyabandi Haqqani Order as a Da\u27wah Method in The Educational System of Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School Cicalengka Bandung

This study explores the spiritual dimension of the Naqsyabandi Haqqani Sufi Order as a da\u27wah method within the educational system of Al-Falah Islamic Boarding School in Cicalengka, Bandung. This Sufi order emphasizes dzikr (remembrance of God), self-restraint, and direct spiritual guidance from a mursyid (spiritual teacher) as foundational da\u27wah approaches for character development and Islamic propagation among santri. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research analyzes how spiritual values such as tawhid (divine unity), iman (faith), and sabr (patience) are integrated into formal and non-formal pesantren curricula as effective da\u27wah strategies. The findings reveal that the Naqsyabandi Haqqani spiritual dimension functions as a comprehensive da\u27wah method reflected in students\u27 daily activities, consistently instilling Islamic values through direct and indirect propagation approaches. This da\u27wah-oriented spiritual development system produces academically competent, spiritually profound, and morally upright students while preparing them as future da\u27i (Islamic propagators). The Sufi spirituality serves as both moral foundation and da\u27wah methodology, strengthening Islamic education\u27s goal of forming insan kamil (the complete human being) who embodies and propagates Islamic teachings. The study demonstrates that the Naqsyabandi Haqqani approach transforms traditional Islamic education into an active da\u27wah platform, where the pesantren becomes a living laboratory for Islamic propagation. Through this spiritual-based da\u27wah method, students experience profound transformation that cultivates their capacity for effective Islamic outreach. Thus, Al-Falah\u27s educational system transmits knowledge, transforms souls, and nurtures committed da\u27wah agents who contribute to the broader Islamic mission in contemporary society

Second, what factors underlie the shift in da\u27wah among Persis religious advisors. Third, how is the process of da\u27wah transformation among Persis religious advisors. It is portrayed using Everett M. Rogers\u27 diffusion of innovation theory which includes the construction of innovation, the use of communication channels, the innovation decision process, and the social system related to goal achievement. This research aims to describe the construction of the transformation of Persis preachers\u27 communication patterns according to the understanding and experience of Persis preachers themselves. Integration of Islamic Da\u27wah Principles in Business Operations: A Study of Haryanto Bus Company Boyolali

This research aims to explore the process of internalizing Islamic da\u27wah values in the management of the Haryanto bus company, especially in the Boyolali garage. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The results of the study show that the process of internalizing the values of Islamic da\u27wah and Islamic da\u27wah carried out by H. Haryanto is in the form of worship activities such as congregational prayers, almsgiving, and awarding in the form of Umrah. In addition, adequate worship facilities and corporate rules that support social charity reinforce the internalization of these values. However, there are factors that hinder the process of internalizing Islamic da\u27wah values such as the physical limitations of leaders and working hours that clash with worship times. The impact of the application of Islamic da\u27wah values in the company is proven to create a harmonious and productive work environment, as well as improve employee discipline. The implication of this research is that the internalization of Islamic da\u27wah values in the company not only achieves worldly success but also obtains moral and spiritual blessings for every karwayan. This research contributes to understanding how faith-based leadership can be applied in organizations and opens up opportunities for further research on the long-term impact of internalizing religious values in the workplace

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Analysis and Prediction of Community Behavior Patterns in Dakwah

Artificial intelligence (AI) has made tremendous progress, and it is not surprising that its influence has also penetrated the realm of religion, which has had a significant impact, where AI technology has opened the door to new developments in spreading religious messages or da\u27wah. This study aims to analyze how AI can be used to analyze and predict patterns of community behavior in da\u27wah and how the results of the analysis can be used to improve the effectiveness of da\u27wah. The research method used is qualitative with a library approach. Data were collected from literature studies and documentation and using thematic analysis techniques. The results of this study show that the analysis and prediction model for community behavior, created with machine learning techniques and AI algorithms, can gather and examine data from different online sources like social media, discussion forums, and religious websites to understand how people behave when they receive and respond to da\u27wah messages. For example, AI-based chatbots can be used to answer questions about fiqh quickly and consistently, helping to reach mad\u27u who are reluctant to attend physical assemblies. Furthermore, da\u27wah strategies using AI can be carried out by segmenting the audience, personalizing messages, optimizing time, and using positive and inspiring content. However, AI in the preaching strategy should be used as a medium to help the effectiveness and efficiency of preaching activities, considering the limitations of the use of AI in preaching

Reconfiguring Mosque-Based Civic Networks: Religious Messaging, Emotional Appeal, and Social Intimacy in Hijrah Movement of ‘Kopdar Masjid BDG Raya’ WhatsApp Group

This study examines how the WhatsApp group Kopdar Masjid BDG Raya operates as a civic micro-network that reshapes mosque-based Islamic participation among urban youth engaged in the hijrah movement in Greater Bandung. Using virtual ethnography and one-year observation (July 2023–June 2024), the research explores how religious messaging, emotional resonance, and social intimacy are constructed and maintained in everyday group interaction. The findings show that daily spiritual prompts, repentance narratives, and offline gatherings foster a collective moral journey rooted in transformation and belonging. Rather than solely distributing da‘wa content, the group nurtures trust, accountability, and coordinated mosque-based activities that deepen civic religiosity. While the group demonstrates stability and active participation, it is not without limitations. Informants noted some content fatigue and silent readership patterns, as well as subtle frictions when mosque administrators differed in da‘wa orientation or program intensity. These limitations suggest that digital hijrah activism relies on negotiated interaction, ongoing trust-building, and careful coordination with offline mosque authorities. This paper contributes to the study of digital Islamic movements by highlighting the evolving role of WhatsApp as a medium for sustaining spiritual commitment, facilitating civic bonds, and navigating the informal structures of religious authority in contemporary Indonesian cities
