Resistor-based temperature sensors can achieve much higher resolution and energy efficiency than conventional BJT-based sensors [1], but they typically occupy more area (> 0.25 mm 2 ) and have lower operating temperatures (le 125 {circ} {C}) [2]-[4]. This work describes a 0.12mm 2 resistor-based sensor that uses a Wien-bridge (WB) filter to achieve 0.1 {circ} {C} (3 sigma) inaccuracy from - 40 {circ} {C} to 180 {circ} {C}. Compared to a state-of-the-art WB sensor [4], it occupies 6 × less area and achieves comparable relative accuracy over a 76% wider operating range. Briefing: Professor Vincent Nadin’s decade of spatial planning and strategy at TU Delft

No full text
Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) is the leading institution in the Netherlands for research and education in urbanism. Planning, design and technology traditionally form the key pillars of ‘Dutch urbanism’. The year 2008 marked the beginning of a new section with a new professor at the TU Delft Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment: the section of Spatial Planning & Strategy (SPS). With the farewell to SPS professor Vincent Nadin in 2019, a huge source of expertise and inspiration for urbanism has left Delft’s academic community. Under Vincent’s leadership, SPS has strengthened its position and become a centre of excellence on (a) international and European territorial governance and policy-making, including their potential for democracy building, (b) regional design and planning, (c) contemporary methods of spatial planning, spatial planning instruments and spatial planning systems and cultures and (d) territorial evidence and impact assessment.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Spatial Planning and Strateg

Measurement of the B0–B0 oscillation frequency Δmd with the decays B0→D−π+ and B0→ J/ψK∗0

The B 0 –B 0 oscillation frequency Δmd is measured by the LHCb experiment using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb−1 of proton–proton collisions at √ s = 7 TeV, and is found to be Δmd =0.5156±0.0051 (stat.)±0.0033 (syst.) ps−1 . The measurement is based on results from analyses of the decays B 0 → D −π + (D − → K +π −π −) and B 0 → J/ψK ∗0 (J/ψ →μ +μ −,K ∗0 → K +π −) and their charge conjugated modes

Institute of place making: A project by the chair of Landscape Architecture at the TU Delft. Oerol 2013: Sense of place

No full text
This booklet shows the results of a project developed by TU Delft in a Master elective course offered by the chair of Landscape Architecture: Landscape Architecture ON site, being part of Oerol Festival 2013. The aim of the project was to express the landscape of Terschelling into a temporarily project during the Oerol festival on Terschelling Island from June 12th through the 23rd, 2013. The chair of Landscape Architecture at TU Delft was invited three years ago to contribute to the discussion about the Wadden Island with particular emphasis on Terschelling. The question was how to become an active part of the coming editions of Oerol, since the festival is going in the direction of more permanent interventions in the landscape. Further, the festival is leading the way in designating close relationships between nature and culture, and between landscape and inhabitants. The chair has been contributing since then with projects inside the “expedition program” and participating in seminars. The first project for Oerol was designed in 2010. Since then, the chair has contributed every year, titled “Sense of Place”, wherein the landscape of the Wadden area and that of Terschelling was discussed by artists, landscape architects, ecologists and curators. Oerol has a long tradition of landscape and location art and is one of the major international centres of development in this field. With the island as a source of inspiration and stage for broad programming, the Oerol festival has a leading artistic profile with a focus on culture, nature and experimentation. Each year, Oerol selects approximately twenty innovative and experimental projects that fit within the overall perception of nature and culture. The ‘expedition program’ includes projects from all disciplines and mixed forms, such as short presentations, performances, landscape art, theatrical films and installations. Our contribution to the expedition program this year is called ‘The Institute of Place Making.’ It is an interactive project which explores and makes visible the experiences of visitors and inhabitants in the landscape of Terschelling. The project is a result of several weeks of teaching, workshops, external lectures, sites visits, and brainstorming sections. It ultimately developed into a project wherein people were asked to take a closer look at the landscape and heighten their awareness of the island by answering the question: “What is your most sacred ‘place’ on Terschelling, and why?”UrbanismArchitecture and The Built Environmen

A maioria dos ilhéus avalia positivamente a forma você e a considera "boa" ou "mais bonita" que as demais formas de segunda pessoa (tu e o senhor) e, por outro lado, não consideram "feia" ou "ruim" nenhuma dessas formas, embora uma boa parte deles considere o tu "feio" ou "ruim".Abstract : This research aims to investigate and map the singular second person pronoun variation, tu/você/o senhor, in the subject function and its relation to the pronoun forms that appear in the function of verb complement and adjunction (oblique and possessive) based on synchronic data from Florianópolis (SC) Portuguese in order to comprehend the nature and the extension of these pronouns in the linguistic system of this community. Our theoretical path is based on the Theory of Linguistic Variation and Change and Pluridimensional Dialectology. We analyzed this phenomenon relating it to the groups of linguistic, discursive, social and geographical factors. The sample is constituted by 28 interviews and 40 tests of perception and production realized with informants from Florianópolis. The general results show that the island locals prefer the use of tu to the interlocutor treatment. The statistic analysis demonstrates that the most relevant factor groups in the variation occurrence in terms of using the second person pronoun in Florianópolis are a) sex; b) age; c) type of interlocutor relationship; d) parallelism of subject and clitic and e) parallelism of subject and possessive. In relation to the interview samples, the most relevant groups are: a) zone and b) education. The results show that in Florianópolis women use more tu than men, and the youngest people use more the linguistic form tu than the oldest people do. To direct to inferior people, the most used form by the superior is tu while in equal relationships the most used one is tu. In terms of inferior directing to the superior people, the most used form is o senhor followed by você. Florianópolis people use more the parallelism among the pronoun forms, independently the used pronoun. The most educated people use more the form tu than the least ones. The people from less urban zones use more the form tu than the people from urban ones. The test results of perception and production contribute to the results from the samples and the interviews, except when we treat the factor of age. Most of the locals evaluate positively the form você and consider it good or more beautiful than the other forms of second person pronoun (tu/ senhor), and, in the other hand, these people do not consider bad or ugly any of these forms, although part of them consider tu a bad or ugly form

A ±25A Versatile Shunt-Based Current Sensor with 10kHz Bandwidth and ±0.25% Gain Error from -40°C to 85°C Using 2-Current Calibration

No full text
Accurate current sensing is critical in many industrial applications, such as battery management and motor control. Precise shunt-based current sensors have been reported with gain errors of less than 1% over the industrial temperature range (-40°C to 85°C) [1]–[4]. However, since they are intended for coulomb counting, their bandwidth is limited to a few tens of Hz, making them unsuitable for battery impedance or motor-current sensing. This paper presents a current sensor with a wide (10kHz) bandwidth and a tunable temperature compensation scheme (TCS), which allows it to be flexibly used with different types of shunts while maintaining high accuracy. A low-cost room-temperature calibration scheme is proposed to optimize gain flatness over temperature by exploiting the shunt's self-heating at large currents. Over the industrial temperature range and a ±25A current range, it achieves state-of-the-art gain error (±0.25%) with both low-cost PCB and stable metal-alloy shunts.Green Open Access added to TU Delft Institutional Repository 'You share, we take care!' - Taverne project https://www.openaccess.nl/en/you-share-we-take-care Otherwise as indicated in the copyright section: the publisher is the copyright holder of this work and the author uses the Dutch legislation to make this work public.Electronic InstrumentationMicroelectronic
