This article discusses the relevance of Islam Nusantara with hadith. As is well known, Islam Nusantara has long been discussed by both academics and the general public. Its presence reaps the pros and cons. Some consider it different from the basic values of Islamic teachings. There are also those who say that Islam Nusantara has a connection with socio-cultural processes, the acculturation of the entry of Islam and archipelago culture. This article was written to analyze the values that exist in the concept of Islam Nusantara according to the perspective of the Prophet's hadith. The method used is a qualitative method by utilizing documentation instruments in the form of books, scientific papers, and so on. The data is taken from written literature on Islam Nusantara and is also relevant. Before being linked to the hadith, an explanation of Islam Nusantara was first put forward in the view of leading Islamic figures in Indonesia. This research gives the result that Nusantara Islam has values that are relevant to the traditions of the Prophet such as tolerance, ukhuwwah Islamiyyah, mutual strengthening, and mutual love for one another. These values have been mentioned in the main books of hadith such as the books of Ṣaḥiḥ Bukhārī, Musnad Aḥmad and Sunan Abū Dāwud
Comparison of the Criteria for the Validity of Hadith in the View of the Khawarij and Sunni
This article tries to identify the ideas of the Khawarij and Sunni in the criteria for the validity of hadith. So far, hawarij is known as a group in which there are people who left the ranks of 'Ali ibn Abu Talib after the tahkim (arbitration) incident.dTheir understanding of religion tends to be textual both in interpreting verses or understanding the Prophet's hadith. In its development, they helped formulate the criteria for the validity of the hadith as the Sunnis. Through this study the author tries to analyze how the differences and similarities in the concept of authenticity of hadith according to the Khawarij and Sunnis. In addition to aiming to enrich scientific treasures in the field of hadith science, this study also aims to explore further whether the concept coined by the Khawarij in measuring the validity of the hadith contains controversy or not when compared to the concept of the Sunnis. This methode of research is a qualitative research that is descriptive analysis. Sources of data in the form of previous studies or references in the form of books and books which contain related discussions. This study shows that in general the criteria for the validity of hadith according to the Khawarij are the same as the criteria for the validity of hadith according to the Sunnis.. They are also inconsistent in accepting the hadith
Epistemologi Kitab Syarah Hadis “Manhāj Dhawī Al-Naẓar Fī Al-Sharḥ Alfiyyah ‘Ilm Al-Athar” Karya Syekh Maḥfūẓ Tarmas
This article tries to examine the epistemology of the book of sharah hadith by Sheikh Mahfudz al-Tarmasi, “Manhāj Dhawi> al-Naz}ar fi> al-Sharh} Alfiyyah ‘Ilm al-Athar”. Sheikh Mahfudz al-Tarmasi himself is an Indonesian scholar from Pacitan who is very competent in the field of hadith. His books are scattered everywhere. However, this article will discuss one of his the book, “Manhāj Dhawi> al-Naz}ar fi> al-Sharh} Alfiyyah ‘Ilm al-Athar” from an epistemological aspect. Before entering into the core discussion, we first explain the notion of epistemology, biography, scientific rihlah and a number of works by Sheikh al-Tarmasi are also described. The research is in the form of library research. So the instrument used is documentation, namely utilizing data sources in the form of books, scriptures, and scientific papers that are relevant to this article. The data is then presented with a descriptive analysis method. The results of this study indicate that the book “Manhāj Dhawi> al-Naz}ar fi> al-Sharh} Alfiyyah ‘Ilm al-Athar” uses the tahlili method, namely the method used to explain the meaning of the hadith from its various aspects. The pattern used is a scientific style, because the style of discussion focuses on hadith science. While the data source is dominated by bi ra’yi sources. The work also meets the coherence theory criteria. So the validity of the book is no doubt
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Farid Esack's Hermeneutics in the Study of Women's Freedom and Justice
Problems in interpreting the concept of the Qur'an have become a significant issue in the discourse of Islamic thought in the modern era. One of the figures who paid great attention to efforts to explore the meaning of the Qur'an is Farid Esack, who used hermeneutic studies as a tool of interpretation. In line with that, this study aims to analyze the study of liberation and justice for women using Farid Esack's hermeneutic thinking. This research uses a qualitative research method with Farid Esack's hermeneutic approach. The results show that the hermeneutics initiated by Farid Esack, namely liberation hermeneutics, uses critical reasoning that places revelation, reality, and interpretation in an interacting relationship. This approach aims to produce interpretations that are oriented towards liberation and justice. The application of Farid Esack's hermeneutics can be seen in his interpretation of women's liberation from oppression and injustice, especially in the context of divorce. One example is the introduction of the concept of iddah as mentioned in the Qur'an surah Al-Baqarah verse 228 and the relevant hadith. Esack explains that a wife is still entitled to receive maintenance from her husband during the iddah period. This concept can be used as a basis for analyzing current conditions through an Islamic hermeneutic approach
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
