    No full text
Practice learning the guitar at Chandra Kusuma School is using ABRSM curriculum guide books. However, the implementation of a curriculum still having a lot of trouble, especially on a right-hand techniques such as the achievement of picking techniques apoyando and tirando also left hand techniques such as frame finger, position, (crossing finger) and other fingering techniques. These troubles have caused some problems to the teacher and the student in the teaching-learning process when applying and implementing a curriculum in teaching guitar at Chandra Kusuma School. The application of a technic that curriculum desired by a symbol located on transcription notation. This problem makes a teacher must understand the issues contained in a curriculum to be taught to students in practice learning the instrument. Moreover, the problems of internal and external factors studied, such as: interest, discipline, intellectual, attention, confidence, fatique, talent and other things of the external factors: facilities, assessment, curriculum, methods, materials, environment, parents and the another highly inhibit and slow the learning guitar process at Chandra Kusuma School. So in this case the author conducted a study, by examining teachers and students in the teaching-learning process is carried out in Chandra Kusuma School, as well as analyzing the three (3) songs of the guide books are taken through the ABRSM curriculum and offering learning solutions to provide the particular training in order to be able to play a song from technical difficulties of song books ABRSM curriculum guide. This is done in order to see the issues limiting factor in addition to techniques such as internal and external problems of learning, then the author look at the solutions provided by the school, the teachers, and the problems can not be solved Chandra Kusuma School, in this case the author will also try to offer a solution. Through these problems the author uses the theory of behaviorism approach through behavioral changes that build a strong individual with the ability to search for a solution (problem solving) in learning guitar at Chandra Kusuma School. This theory proposed by Gage and Berliner in the book “Educational Psychology” Second Edition, (Chicago Rand Mc. Nally), 1979. In this study the author hope to find, troubleshoot and resolve problems learning at Chandra Kusuma School, either techniques in playing a song or internal and external factors inhibiting the practice of learning the guitar.

The ALICE Transition Radiation Detector: construction, operation, and performance

    No full text
The Transition Radiation Detector (TRD) was designed and built to enhance the capabilities of the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). While aimed at providing electron identification and triggering, the TRD also contributes significantly to the track reconstruction and calibration in the central barrel of ALICE. In this paper the design, construction, operation, and performance of this detector are discussed. A pion rejection factor of up to 410 is achieved at a momentum of 1 GeV/ c in p–Pb collisions and the resolution at high transverse momentum improves by about 40% when including the TRD information in track reconstruction. The triggering capability is demonstrated both for jet, light nuclei, and electron selection. The Transition Radiation Detector (TRD) was designed and built to enhance the capabilities of the ALICE detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Production of π0 and η mesons up to high transverse momentum in pp collisions at 2.76 TeV

    No full text
The invariant differential cross sections for inclusive π0 and η mesons at midrapidity were measured in pp collisions at s√=2.76 TeV for transverse momenta 0.4<pT<40 GeV/c and 0.6<pT<20 GeV/c, respectively, using the ALICE detector. This large range in pT was achieved by combining various analysis techniques and different triggers involving the electromagnetic calorimeter (EMCal). In particular, a new single-cluster, shower-shape based method was developed for the identification of high-pT neutral pions, which exploits that the showers originating from their decay photons overlap in the EMCal. The measured cross sections are found to exhibit a similar power-law behavior with an exponent of about 6.3. Next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations and generator-level simulations with PYTHIA 8.2 describe the cross sections to about 30% for the π0, and between 30-50% for the η meson. The new data can therefore be used to further improve the theoretical description of π0 and η meson production

The transverse momentum (pT) spectra and elliptic flow coefficient (v2) of deuterons and anti-deuterons at mid-rapidity (|y|1.8 GeV/c within the experimental uncertainties. The measurement of the coalescence parameter B2 is performed, showing a pT dependence in contrast with the simplest coalescence model, which fails to reproduce also the measured v2 coefficient. In addition, the coalescence parameter B2 and the elliptic flow coefficient in the 20-40% centrality interval are compared with the AMPT model which is able, in its version without string melting, to reproduce the measured v2(pT) and the B2(pT) trend

    π0 and η meson production in proton-proton collisions at √s = 8 TeV

    No full text
An invariant differential cross section measurement of inclusive π0 and η meson production at mid-rapidity in pp collisions at s√=8 TeV was carried out by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The spectra of π0 and η mesons were measured in transverse momentum ranges of 0.33.5 GeV/c. However, a deviation from this empirical scaling rule is observed for transverse momenta below pT<3.5 GeV/c in the η/π0 ratio with a significance of 6.2σ

Searches for transverse momentum dependent flow vector fluctuations in Pb–Pb and p–Pb collisions at the LHC

    No full text
The measurement of azimuthal correlations of charged particles is presented for Pb-Pb collisions at sNN−−−√= 2.76 TeV and p-Pb collisions at sNN−−−√= 5.02 TeV with the ALICE detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. These correlations are measured for the second, third and fourth order flow vector in the pseudorapidity region |η|<0.8 as a function of centrality and transverse momentum pT using two observables, to search for evidence of pT-dependent flow vector fluctuations. For Pb-Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV, the measurements indicate that pT-dependent fluctuations are only present for the second order flow vector. Similar results have been found for p-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV. These measurements are compared to hydrodynamic model calculations with event-by-event geometry fluctuations in the initial state to constrain the initial conditions and transport properties of the matter created in Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions
