Development of a computer program for shaft design / Basri Ibrahim and Nang Jamilah Nik Omar
In this report, a computer program was written in order to determine the size of a shaft to be used for power transmission. The uniform or stepped solid shaft under consideration is supported on two bearings and to be made from any material with known properties. S.I. Units are used throughout the design. The program consists of main program and nine subprograms to facilitate the computation at which is based on ASME Code (formula that establish by the American Society Of Mechanical Engineers in 1927) using the FORTRAN POWERSTATION VERSION 4.0 where The Microsoft Developer Studio is an integrated development environment for Fortran applications. This will enable the Personal Computer to be used to run the program. Then the program been tested and the results obtained were compared with the manual calculation validation. The author hope that this program will be useful for educational purpose and hopefully will help to certain extent the Mechanical Engineering Student who are studying about the shaft design
THE AUTHOR'S STRUGGLING VALUES IN CULTURAL REPRODUCTION NOVEL BIOGRAPHICAL NOVEL 49 HARI KISAH PENANTANG GELOMBANG BY NURIL BASRI
The development of the era and the development of literary science make novels not only fictional. The novel 49 Hari Kisah Penantang Gelombang by Nuril Basri is written based on the reality that occurs in the real world, so it can be called a biographical novel. Starting from human existence in facing a series of extreme problems that arise in real life, then reproduced by the author into a biographical novel. The purpose of this study is to describe the author’s struggling value in writing the novel 49 Hari Kisah Penantang Gelombang. To reveal these values, the theory on the aspect of struggle values will be utilized. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with Abrams' expressive criticism approach to the sociology of the author. The data collection technique used is documentation study. While the data analysis technique is qualitative data analysis. The results of the study show the values of struggle: persistence, patience, never giving up, and the responsibility of a novelist in conducting research to reproduce true stories into literary works in the biographical novel genre

Public nutrition is essential to obtain a healthy and fit body condition, especially during a pandemic like today. The content of vitamins A, C, magnesium, gelatin, phosphorus, and antioxidants in chicken meat can help build the immune system to fight viruses. Besides that, the content of amino acids derived from chicken protein can form antibodies to fight infections. Therefore, raising free-range chickens can be a good business opportunity to fulfill the need for healthy meat from free-range chickens. In addition, it is indicated that the demand for chicken meat in Kendari has yet to be fulfilled, so it must be supplied from other regions. Therefore, raising super free-range chickens can be a promising solution and business opportunity with a maintenance pattern that is not too complicated, where even a not-too-large area of land can be used as a place for its maintenance. Even so, the obstacle free-range chicken breeders face is the slow growth of free-range chickens, which can take 4-6 months to produce 1 kg body weight. But now, this problem can be overcome by the presence of super-free-range chickens or super Javanese chickens, which are the result of crosses between male local native chickens and breeder breeders that have fast growth characteristics. With a maintenance pattern that is not too complicated, where even a not-too-large area of land can be used as a place for its maintenance. The body and flesh still show the type of free-range chicken but with organic care, without drugs, and with organic feed

ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN BENIH NON SERTIFIKAT DAN BENIH BERSERTIFIKAT PADI SAWAH DI DESA WIA-WIA KECAMATAN POLI POLIA KABUPATEN KOLAKA TIMUR
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai perbedaan biaya produksi, penerimaan, pendapatan, serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi keputusan petani dalam memilih benih bersertifikat dan non-sertifikat pada usahatani padi sawah di Desa Wia-wia, Kecamatan Poli-polia, Kabupaten Kolaka Timur. Metode yang digunakan adalah survei dengan 76 responden, terbagi menjadi dua kelompok berdasarkan jenis benih yang digunakan. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan diuji perbedaannya menggunakan Independent Samples t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani yang menggunakan benih non-sertifikat memiliki total biaya produksi lebih tinggi, yakni Rp18.977.483, dibandingkan petani pengguna benih bersertifikat sebesar Rp18.365.830. Sebaliknya, penerimaan dari penjualan padi pengguna benih bersertifikat lebih besar, yaitu Rp54.817.892, sedangkan kelompok non-sertifikat hanya Rp42.927.155. Perbedaan ini menghasilkan pendapatan bersih yang signifikan; petani benih bersertifikat memperoleh Rp36.452.062, sementara petani non-sertifikat Rp23.949.672, dengan uji t menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,000. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan benih bersertifikat memberikan keuntungan ekonomi lebih tinggi dan efisiensi biaya produksi lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan akses, sosialisasi, dan dukungan pemerintah agar lebih banyak petani menggunakan benih berkualitas tinggi
Hubungan Karakteristik Penyuluh dengan Kinerja Penyuluh di Kecamatan Sampara Kabupaten Konawe
The performance of agricultural extension workers is the level of work success achieved by agricultural extension workers which is an important aspect that plays a role in work success and goal achievement. Performance is measured based on the abilities possessed by an individual in the form of cognitive, affective and psychomotor aspects. The numbers of agricultural extension workers in the Sampara subdistrict under the supervision of the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) of Sampara District are 17 agricultural extension workers. The condition of agricultural extension workers in the Agricultural Extension Center varies in ages, education level and working experiences. The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of performance of field agricultural extension workers (PPL) and to analyze the relationship between the characteristics of extension workers and the performance of field agricultural extension workers (PPL) in Sampara Sub district, Konawe Regency. The study employed scoring method using likert scale meanwhile measurement correlation between the characteristics of extension workers and the performance of Agricultural Extension workers through non-parametric analysis of Spearman\u27s rank correlation test. The results of the study showed that the performance of field agricultural extension officers was in a fairly good category while the education level factors had a significant or strong relationship as shown by the Rs coefficient with value of 0.721
Tataniaga Kopi Robusta di Kabupaten Kolaka Timur, Sulawesi Tenggara
Usaha agribisnis kopi di Kabupaten Kolaka Timur, Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara saat ini masih menghadapi berbagai permasalahan seperti permasalahan daya saing, harga, dan pendapatan. Kondisi ini menggambarkan diperlukannya berbagai perbaikan termasuk aspek pemasaran atau tataniaga. Hal inilah yang menjadi alasan mendasar dilakukan analisis tataniaga kopi robusta di Kabupaten kolaka Timur. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menganalisis struktur dan efisiensi tataniaga kopi robusta di Kabupaten Kolaka Timur. Data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui proses wawancaran kepada pedagang kopi sebagai responden. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif untuk mengetahui struktur tataniaga, analisis margin pemasaran untuk menganalisis margin pemasaran dan analisis Farmer’s Share untuk menganalisis efisiensi kinerja rantai pemasaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat empat jalur tataniaga atau saluran pemasaran kopi robusta di Kabupaten Kolaka Timur yaitu saluran pemasaran 1 yang terdiri atas petani, pedagang pengumpul, pedagang penampung dan pedagang besar di Kabupaten Kolaka; saluran pemasaran 2 terdiri atas petani, pedagang pengumpul, pedagang penampung, pedagang besar di Kota Makassar; saluran pemasaran 3 terdiri atas petani, pedagang penampung dan pedagang besar di Kabupaten Kolaka; dan saluran pemasaran 4 terdiri atas petani, pedagang penampung dan pedagang besar di Kota Makassar. Rantai pemasaran kopi di Kabupaten Kolaka Timur pada saluran 3 lebih efisien dibandingkan dengan saluran 1, 2 dan saluran 4 karena memiliki margin pemasaran terendah yaitu Rp.4.833/kg dan nilai farmers’ share tertinggi
Modelling the hidden magnetic field of low-mass stars

These maps in turn are used to study the structure of the stars' coronae and winds. This method, however, misses any small-scale magnetic flux whose polarization signatures cancel out. Measurements of Zeeman broadening show that a large percentage of the surface magnetic flux may be neglected in this way. In this paper we assess the impact of this 'missing flux' on the predicted coronal structure and the possible rates of spin-down due to the stellar wind. To do this we create a model for the small-scale field and add this to the Zeeman-Doppler maps of the magnetic fields of a sample of 12 M dwarfs. We extrapolate this combined field and determine the structure of a hydrostatic, isothermal corona. The addition of small-scale surface field produces a carpet of low-lying magnetic loops that covers most of the surface, including the stellar equivalent of solar 'coronal holes' where the large-scale field is opened up by the stellar wind and hence would be X-ray dark. We show that the trend of the X-ray emission measure with rotation rate (the so-called 'activity-rotation relation') is unaffected by the addition of small-scale field, when scaled with respect to the large-scale field of each star. The addition of small-scale field increases the surface flux; however, the large-scale open flux that governs the loss of mass and angular momentum in the wind remains unaffected. We conclude that spin-down times and mass-loss rates calculated from surface magnetograms are unlikely to be significantly influenced by the neglect of small-scale field.Peer reviewe
Identification of structured LTI MIMO state-space models
The identification of structured state-space model has been intensively studied for a long time but still has not been adequately addressed. The main challenge is that the involved estimation problem is a non-convex (or bilinear) optimization problem. This paper is devoted to developing an identificationmethod which aims to find the global optimal solution under mild computational burden. Key to the developed identification algorithm is to transform a bilinear estimation to a rank constrained optimization problem and further a difference of convex programming (DCP) problem. The initial conditionfor the DCP problem is obtained by solving its convex part of the optimization problem which happens to be a nuclear norm regularized optimization problem. Since the nuclear norm regularized optimization is the closest convex form of the low-rank constrained estimation problem, the obtained initialcondition is always of high quality which provides the DCP problem a good starting point. The DCP problem is then solved by the sequential convex programming method.
