Аналізовані дослідження Михайла Степаненка вводять до наукового обігу нові архівні матеріали й розширюють емпіричну базу українського музикознавства, відтак перебувають у річищі відповідних, властивих сучасному музикознавству тенденцій, що у своїй сукупності сприяють зміцненню наукових основ цієї сфери знання, а отже, входженню українського музикознавства у світовий контекст як його суб’єкта.The analysis of the works of Mykhailo Borysovych Stepanenko devoted to the multifaceted figure of Mykola Vitaliiovych Lysenko, is submitted in the article. An attempt to analyze objectively the chosen issues is made as well as to comprehend lysenkiana in the works of M. B. Stepanenko in close connection with the Ukrainian musicological tradition and modern research. The analyzed studies of Mykhailo Stepanenko introduce new archival materials into scientific circulation and expand the empirical base of Ukrainian musicology. Therefore, they are amid relevant trends, typical for modern musicology, those contribute to the strengthening of the scientific foundations of this field of knowledge as a whole, and therefore, the entry of Ukrainian musicology into the world context as its subject

інформації. Аналізуються причини та джерела впровадження у науковий обіг помилкової дати. Публікується виявлений документ із виписом з метричної книги про народження Михайла Старицького.This article is about birth record of Mykhailo P. Starytsky. He was a famous Ukrainian
writer, poet, and playwright.
Nowadays, there is a generally accepted version of Mykhailo Staritsky’s birth date. It is
14 (2 Old Style (O.S.) December 1840. Nevertheless, this version is not confirmed by original
sources. The original sources were lost in 1943, when the state archive of the Poltava region
and its Kremenchuk branch lost all their documents including metrical books with birth record
of Mykhailo Starytsky. Because Mykhailo Starytsky was born in nobility family, we may
attract additional sources. The author verifies others documents, such as Vadim Modzalevskyj’s
«Malorossyjskyj rodoslovnyk» and finds another date. That date is 14 (2 O.S.) November 1839.
Further, the author searches original source of this information in fond «Third Department
of Senate» (Department of Geroldii) of Russian State Historical Archive, St. Petersburg. In
result, the author finds the copy of extract of birth record of Mykhailo P. Starytsky, which
confirm date 14 November 1839.
Additionally, the paper deals with finding the source of wrong date (14 December 1840).
The author traces a sequence of links to sources in publications about Staritsky and finds
the possible first article with wrong date. This article was published in 1940, but its author
Luka Sokyrko did not point the source of date. Therefore, we cannot set source of wrong date.
On completion, the article shows analyzing of information from found extract of birth

Встановлено, що мотив культури в науковця вплетений у його історію української культури, тому формулювання поняття культури не є можливим без врахування українського контексту. Розглянуто ідейне підґрунтя формування поглядів та основні ключові компоненти філософії культури М.С. Грушевського, а саме: ідея геройського начала, ідея європоцентричності культури, ідея національної визначеності та ін.
(The author discusses the problems of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi’s philosophy of culture. The article analyses the integrity of scholar’s looks as a single philosophical concept. It is established in the article that the scholar’s motif of culture was related to the history of the Ukrainian culture; therefore, the formulation of the term “culture” is not possible without the Ukrainian context. The author of the article analyses the ideological basis for opinions and key components of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi’s philosophy of culture, namely the idea of heroic beginning, the idea of the European culture, the idea of national determination and others.

(The author has characterized the scholarly activity of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi as a researcher of Ukrainian kobzarstvo and his contribution to the development of this issue. The research of this considerable layer of the Ukrainian musical art by Mykhailo Hrushevskyi has found its reflection in the work History of the Ukrainian literature. On the pages of this work, Mykhailo Hrushevskyi analyses the repertoire, manners of performance and separate features of this type of musical art. The activity and the heritage of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi, which were generally focused on the research and promotion of the Ukrainian history and culture in various aspects, were closely connected with kobzarstvo as the art phenomenon.

The author emphasizes that the attention to intellectual heritage of Mykhailo Hrushevskyi from the Polish scholars was earlier insufficient and has become more dynamic from the moment of the formation of the independent Polish post-communist state.
