Employee motivation and commitment survey in a transport company
Töötajate motivatsiooni ja pühendumine on täna ettevõtetel väga aktuaalne, sest töötajate hoidmine ja leidmine on muutunud väga oluliseks küsimuseks ettevõtetel. Täna on töötaja ettevõtte kalleim vara millesse soovitakse üha rohkem panustada. Töömotivatsiooni teemaplokis said kõige madalama hinnangu need väited mille keskmine jäi alla 2,86 „Ettevõttes tunnustatakse parimaid töötajaid“, „Ettevõttes kasvab igal aastal palk“. Töökultuuri teemaplokis said kõige madalama hinnangu need väited, mille keskmine jäi alla 2,91 „Teid tunnustatakse tehtud töö eest“. The topic of the thesis is "Survey of employee motivation commitment in a transport company" The thesis consists of 57 pages and includes 2 tables and 18 charts. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first part of the thesis, the author describes different approaches to motivation and commitment, taking into account the changes in the labor market, which create a comprehensive survey of the nature of the theoretical framework and commitment. In the second part, the author gives an overview of the empirical research methodology which formulates the purpose of the research sample of the method, how the research was conducted. The third part of the thesis consists of the analysis of the results of the study in which the author summarizes and analyzes the collected data on the basis of which conclusions can be drawn. The study of motivation and commitment is very relevant in the transport company, as the turnover of staff has increased and there has been a lack of motivation and dissatisfaction of employees with their work. The aim of the thesis is to find out the possibilities of increasing the motivation and commitment of the employees of the transport company in the changed labor market conditions and to make proposals to the company to support motivation and commitment. In order to achieve the aim of the work, the following research tasks have been set: • Analyze different approaches to motivation and commitment, taking into account changes in the labor market, to provide a theoretical framework for research. • Design and conduct a survey to determine the level of motivation and commitment of the transport company's employees. • Based on the analysis of the survey, make proposals to support work motivation and commitment in the company. To determine the results, a quantitative study was conducted in the company using the deductive "Survey" method. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The Survey method is a common method for collecting quantitative survey data. With this method, it is very important to develop a questionnaire as a research tool, which the participants fill in themselves or in the presence of the researcher. The advantage of the questionnaire developed by the researcher is to get accurate answers to the questions that interest the researcher. An anonymous survey was conducted in January and March 2020. In total, 60 out of 94 employees participated in the survey. The results of the analysis revealed that entrepreneurs have very low work motivation and commitment, the most important ones would support the emergence of motivation and commitment through motivators. The highest motivation and commitment was for the office in the seas and the lowest for truck drivers in the seas. In the former case, motivation and commitment are important for entrepreneurs. The coefficient of variation for all topics was over 33%, which indicates that there is no consensus among staff. In order to support the development of employees motivation and commitment, the author presented in table 2 on page 38 suggestions for improvement of the below-rated statements. The aim of the work was achieved because suggestions for improvement have been made to the management, the prerequisites for motivation and commitment are present in the company, but they need to be improved
Global Burden of Cardiovascular Diseases and Risk Factors, 1990-2019: Update From the GBD 2019 Study
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), principally ischemic heart disease (IHD) and stroke, are the leading cause of global mortality and a major contributor to disability. This paper reviews the magnitude of total CVD burden, including 13 underlying causes of cardiovascular death and 9 related risk factors, using estimates from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2019. GBD, an ongoing multinational collaboration to provide comparable and consistent estimates of population health over time, used all available population-level data sources on incidence, prevalence, case fatality, mortality, and health risks to produce estimates for 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2019. Prevalent cases of total CVD nearly doubled from 271 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: 257 to 285 million) in 1990 to 523 million (95% UI: 497 to 550 million) in 2019, and the number of CVD deaths steadily increased from 12.1 million (95% UI:11.4 to 12.6 million) in 1990, reaching 18.6 million (95% UI: 17.1 to 19.7 million) in 2019. The global trends for disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) and years of life lost also increased significantly, and years lived with disability doubled from 17.7 million (95% UI: 12.9 to 22.5 million) to 34.4 million (95% UI:24.9 to 43.6 million) over that period. The total number of DALYs due to IHD has risen steadily since 1990, reaching 182 million (95% UI: 170 to 194 million) DALYs, 9.14 million (95% UI: 8.40 to 9.74 million) deaths in the year 2019, and 197 million (95% UI: 178 to 220 million) prevalent cases of IHD in 2019. The total number of DALYs due to stroke has risen steadily since 1990, reaching 143 million (95% UI: 133 to 153 million) DALYs, 6.55 million (95% UI: 6.00 to 7.02 million) deaths in the year 2019, and 101 million (95% UI: 93.2 to 111 million) prevalent cases of stroke in 2019. Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of disease burden in the world. CVD burden continues its decades-long rise for almost all countries outside high-income countries, and alarmingly, the age-standardized rate of CVD has begun to rise in some locations where it was previously declining in high-income countries. There is an urgent need to focus on implementing existing cost-effective policies and interventions if the world is to meet the targets for Sustainable Development Goal 3 and achieve a 30% reduction in premature mortality due to noncommunicable diseases

Global burden of cardiovascular diseases and risk factors, 1990–2019: update from the GBD 2019 study

?iddet denildi?inde sadece öldürme, yaralama, dayak, silahly çaty?ma, yrza geçme, intihar, terör gibi olgularyn akla geldi?i biliniyor. Televizyon Ana Haber Bültenleri'nde ?iddet Olgusu ba?lykly çaly?mamyzda, izleyicinin iradesi dy?ynda, konularyn saptyrylarak verilmesi, ses ve görüntüdeki a?yry tekrarlamalar, haberlerin i?leni? tarzyndaki a?yrylyklar, haber sunan ki?inin yüz ifadesi ve ses tonuyla yorumlaryny belli etmeleri, gizli kamera kullanymy, kendini adalet mercii yerine koyarak stüdyoda veya telefonun di?er ucundaki konu?u a?a?ylama ve terslemeler, konuyu anla?ylyr kylmak adyna a?yry basitle?tirme çabalary, Türkçe'nin yanly? ve kötü kullanymy, etik kurallara uyulmamasy söz konusu oldu?unda da ?iddetin akla gelmesi gerekti?i savunulmu?tur. Ana haber bültenlerinde hemen ayny konularyn i?lenmesi, ayny baky? açylarynyn yer almasy, neredeyse fla?laryn dahi ço?unun birbirine benzemesi, ayny ajanslardan alynan haberlerin ayny yorumlary içermesi, sansasyon ve magazinle?meye prim verilmesi, ?iddetin a?yry boyutlara ula?ty?yny göstermektedir. VYOLENCE PHENOMENON YN TELEVYSYON MAYN NEWS BROADCAST BULLETYNS The mankind has never experienced changes as fast as he did in the twentieth century. While having industrialized at an ever-increasing rate, it used up a great portion of all its natural resources. Animals were colonized and Internet helped to bring the world close as far as reach to keyboard. A hundred ten million people have died in wars in this century while sciense and technology were on their way to improvement. While quantity of explosives Per person is over five tons, a billion and a half mines are still wating for prey. Rights of millions of innocent were taken away. While we were entering the age of masses after the industrial revolution, the happy life utopia had finally ended. As masses of people are after more fun than others this had begun surpassing their other wills, making television perceived as a must for living along with other things. However, no one noticed that, while doing so a great big sacrifice is made to our functions physically and mentally. Aldous Huxley author of The Brave Young World was saying, as time passes people would begin liking the stress on them and start thinking in favor of hi-technology that actually paralyzed their capacity to think. That's what happened. Communications technology that has been coming up with a new invention everyday had went out of control and began ruling the mankind. Some search has been made over effect of fighting on TV. There is great deal written on papers, sometimes on front page, about the effect of such TV broadcasts. In return, the TV people have taken the case to debate in order to free from their sins. Speaking of violence one would only think of killing, wounding, spanking, gun fighting, raping, and committing suicide and terrorism. Now lets think of how such news is given on TV. The tone of voice of the commentator, excessive number of repeat of the same act of violence, the secret expression of TV commentator of his/ her own feeling abaut the matter, using candid camera, excessive attempt to simplify the matter, wrong and faulty use of Turkish language and staying away from customary ethical means all add up to need for giving more importance to the topic of violence. Where, it is not bringing abaut the action of someone who is committing suicide to the screen in slow motion, time after another. Excessiveness in all of the above makes us think abaut going beyond free will of the spectator. These hence are included among violence because they cause discomfort to watchers. In TV broadcasting where it is nearly to correct the effects of a mistaken message, it becomes mandatory to have TV commentators held subject to some education or training before they get out there on the scene. Especially in violent scenes, they are forced to get close-up shots and the news is broadcast without giving it any reduction. All these make the watchers upset. Considering they sometimes give not so significant news pretending otherwise, I think this serves as means to violence of some sort. Moreover, making news out of almost identically the same topics on news broadcasts and giving identical comments as received from abroad makes this turn into more like a magazine program because of sensation created makes us think that violence is reaching beyond limits. Since almost every single subject receives extraneous attention and end up with nothing in hand actually. Therefore we can say that, with exception of a few (NTV, CNN TURK, TV8, TRT) we can say that extremism is really going far beyond. In our day where a program given at any TV channel is immediately imitated by others, this monotonous approach in TV broadcasting is disrespectfulness to the spectators, if not attack. This situation does not leave the spectators with much choice. In our study, the news bulletins are not distinguished from other programs. That's why it makes it necessary to check the others too if we want to evaluate a news bulletin of any particular channel. In other words, there has remained not much difference between a soap opera, reality show, movie, and TV serial, music program and news bulletin. News bulletins with loud sirens, killing and bloody scenes appear to have undertaken the task of reality shows (that were finally decided to be taken off the air because they cause too much distress on people), new singers who came to studio to launch their new cassette or displaying underwear to turn into a magazine program more or less. Types of violence displayed in news bulletin are not too different than those given in movies. Therefore we first must check the concept of violence as taken over by other programs too before we evaluate the quality of news bulletin broadcast by any channel. Because, even they appear in segments, a communication through means of television is unique in from. As saying no news attained has remained in history at our day by having budgetary problems cleared, advance in technology and improved staff of personnel, this unfortunately leaves us with no news. More channels do not mean more variety in news. They started out by having the spectator look for news once every hour, this then proceeded to go down as little as once every half an hour. The spectator who is made to expect a flesh news any minute, has been made to think his life is more or less virtual should he fail to get the same tempo at his own life. One other thing is that you know people are effected when they see act of violence on films become agressive, now this makes us think that people who watch news bulletin would become aggressive in similar manner too. In TV broadcasting where everything is founded over advertising, news bulletins have become only a time filling broadcasts as well. Acts of violence are known for their rating and that is why people give more time to violence in news issue. Nevertheless according to some study, it has been verified that TV advertisements broadcast right after violence scene do not stay in mind for long. In overall this makes us think that violent scene that makes us stay tuned happens to serve in favor of advertisers as well. Taking a look at relationship between search on violence and TV or news bulletin we see that people get curious as how any seconds the act stays on the scene. This whereas is only the visible portion of the iceberg. Violent scenes actually leave deep traces in, both children and adults as well. This would make TV broadcasting turn Turkish people into hopeless naive individuals who cannot concentrate on one single matter under such approach the spectators are turned into creatures who lack the ability to think, hence held subject to violence themselves. Therefore spending time on how long the act stays in vision would nothing but make the thing harder. The true menace, hence damage caused by violence on tube could only be overcome by simply totally banning. Just cutting down the time is not enough. Among proposals for solution, one may count people's protesting the products that give advertisement on TV adjacent to programs including violence. Present way adopted in broadcasting may serve to make owners of the TV channel look for filling in the gap until start of next commercial. Its pitiful to see that such gap is filled with nothing but another gap, regardless of news bulletin or program making. Approach by RTÜK to ban the TV channel from broadcast does not appear to be an effective solution, either. Least of all the concept of violence should not be considered in terms of quantity, but of quality. It is necessary to produce policy that will bring people to peace and comfort as well as making the spectator takes part actively. One other solution may be those TV channels having made gentleman's agreement by themselves
Global Burden of Cardiovascular Diseases and Risk Factors, 1990–2019
Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), principally ischemic heart disease (IHD) and stroke, are the leading cause of global mortality and a major contributor to disability. This paper reviews the magnitude of total CVD burden, including 13 underlying causes of cardiovascular death and 9 related risk factors, using estimates from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study 2019. GBD, an ongoing multinational collaboration to provide comparable and consistent estimates of population health over time, used all available population-level data sources on incidence, prevalence, case fatality, mortality, and health risks to produce estimates for 204 countries and territories from 1990 to 2019.Prevalent cases of total CVD nearly doubled from 271 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: 257 to 285 million) in 1990 to 523 million (95% UI: 497 to 550 million) in 2019, and the number of CVD deaths steadily increased from 12.1 million (95% UI:11.4 to 12.6 million) in 1990, reaching 18.6 million (95% UI: 17.1 to 19.7 million) in 2019. The total number of DALYs due to stroke has risen steadily since 1990, reaching 143 million (95% UI: 133 to 153 million) DALYs, 6.55 million (95% UI: 6.00 to 7.02 million) deaths in the year 2019, and 101 million (95% UI: 93.2 to 111 million) prevalent cases of stroke in 2019.Cardiovascular diseases remain the leading cause of disease burden in the world. CVD burden continues its decades-long rise for almost all countries outside high-income countries, and alarmingly, the age-standardized rate of CVD has begun to rise in some locations where it was previously declining in high-income countries. There is an urgent need to focus on implementing existing cost-effective policies and interventions if the world is to meet the targets for Sustainable Development Goal 3 and achieve a 30% reduction in premature mortality due to noncommunicable diseases.
