Letter from Robert J. Walsh Jr., Chief, Freedom of Information/Privacy Office, Department of the Army, to Michi Weglyn, July 23, 1990
A letter from Robert J. Walsh Jr., Chief, Freedom of Information/Privacy Office, Department of the Army, to Michi Weglyn. The letter is a response to Weglyn's 1988 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), regarding records on the Japanese American Citizenship League (JACL).These materials are from box 73 and 74 of the Frank Chin Papers. The Frank Chin Papers contain personal and professional correspondence between Frank Chin and Michi Weglyn relating to particular projects on which either author was working as well as files related to the Day of Remembrance Tribute to Michi Weglyn
Cwbr Author Interview: Jefferson Davis And The Civil War Era
Interview with William J. Cooper, Jr. Interviewed by Christopher Childers Civil War Book Review (CWBR): You begin your latest book with the phrase Jefferson Davis by William Cooper, once again, of course referring to your 2000 biography Jefferson Davis, American. But why Jefferson Davis in the first place, what lead you to study this man? William J. Cooper, Jr. (WJC): I\u27ve been interested in Davis for a long time. When I was a senior in college..

Three Kentucky Artists: Troye, Hart, Price
The three artists whose lives are the subjects of Three Kentucky Artists—Joel Tanner Hart, Samuel Woodson Price, and Edward Troye—enjoyed considerable fame in their own day, though they are now little known outside of Kentucky. Each made a lasting contribution to the social and cultural life of central Kentucky in the nineteenth century. J. Winston Coleman, Jr. sketches the careers and relationships of the artists who played significant roles in the history of the Commonwealth.
J. Winston Coleman, Jr. is the author of numerous books and articles on Kentucky history, including Slavery Times in Kentucky and Bibliography of Kentucky History.https://uknowledge.uky.edu/upk_history_of_art_architecture_and_archaeology/1000/thumbnail.jp
[Letter to Ed Idar, Jr., page one - May 5, 1954]
Letter to Ed Idar, Jr. from an unknown source, informing Idar that John J. Herrera announced that he would be a candidate to the Legislature for "place 5 from Harris County." The author of the letter states that Herrera was convinced to run by "a group of businessmen, including Jewish and Negro Leaders." The letter also explains Herrera's platform to run for Legislature: "jury service for women, no sales tax, no tax increase of any kind, and he is very to backing up on the wetback problem as is possible within state Jurisdiction." Copies of the letter were sent to Hector P. Garcia and Chris Alderete

Shape Persistence in Elicited Subjective Crop Yield Probability Density Functions
The shape persistence of a crop yield probability density function (PDF) was studied by using two variants of the Visual Impact Method (VIM) to elicit subjective estimations by farmers. In one variant ten weights were used to describe the PDF and in the other variant the farmer chose the number of weights. Results were compared directly and by means of Weibull distributions fitting, with evidence being obtained in favor of methodological persistence and the equivalence of the two estimation methods.Subjective crop yield PDF elicitation, Visual impact method, Methodological persistence, Crop Production/Industries,
Evidence for the decay B0→J/ψω and measurement of the relative branching fractions of meson decays to J/ψη and J/ψη′
First evidence of the B 0 → J / ψ ω decay is found and the B s 0 → J / ψ η and B s 0 → J / ψ η ′ decays are studied using a dataset corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb -1 collected by the LHCb experiment in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of sqrt(s) = 7 TeV. The branching fractions of these decays are measured relative to that of the B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0 decay:frac(B (B 0 → J / ψ ω), B (B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0)) = 0.89 ± 0.19 (stat) - 0.13 + 0.07 (syst),frac(B (B s 0 → J / ψ η), B (B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0)) = 14.0 ± 1.2 (stat) - 1.5 + 1.1 (syst) - 1.0 + 1.1 (frac(f d, f s)),frac(B (B s 0 → J / ψ η ′), B (B 0 → J / ψ ρ 0)) = 12.7 ± 1.1 (stat) - 1.3 + 0.5 (syst) - 0.9 + 1.0 (frac(f d, f s)), where the last uncertainty is due to the knowledge of f d / f s, the ratio of b-quark hadronization factors that accounts for the different production rate of B 0 and B s 0 mesons. The ratio of the branching fractions of B s 0 → J / ψ η ′ and B s 0 → J / ψ η decays is measured to befrac(B (B s 0 → J / ψ η ′), B (B s 0 → J / ψ η)) = 0.90 ± 0.09 (stat) - 0.02 + 0.06 (syst)
