    Perubahan dan perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang semakin pesat maka perlu diikuti oleh kinerja pendidikan yang profesional dan bermutu tinggi. Lembaga pendidikan adalah salah satu harapan besar bagi negeri ini agar bisa bangkit dari keterpurukan kualitas pendidik dalam semua aspek dan jenjang pendidikan. Kualitas pendidikan tersebut sangat diperlukan untuk mendukung terciptanya manusia yang cerdas dan terampil agar bisa bersaing secara terbuka di era global. Pendidikan menuntut adanya pembenahan dan penyempurnaan terhadap aspek subtansif yang mendukungnya, yaitu kurikulum dan tenaga profesional yang melaksanakan kurikulum tersebut yaitu guru. Kurikulum pendidikan di Indonesia telah mengalami banyak perubahan. Kurikulum yang digunakan untuk saat ini adalah Kurikulum Tingkat Satuan Pendidikan atau biasa disingkat dengan KTSP. Selain adanya perubahan kurikulum, juga perlu diterapkan strategi, model, teknik, pendekatan, dan metode pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan konsep yang diajarkan. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mempermudah siswa dalam memahami materi yang disampaikan oleh guru. Selain hal -hal tersebut ternyata siswa juga mempunyai peran penting dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan, yaitu dengan merubah pola belajar siswa, misalnya siswa yang semula pasif saat ini harus dituntut lebih aktif dalam mengikuti pelajaran, materi pelajaran yang diterima tidak hanya berasal dari guru, tetapi siswa juga harus mengembangkannya dari berbagai referensi yang ada seperti buku-buku lain di perpustakaan, media cetak, maupun media elektronik. Pembelajaran adalah sistem interaksi peserta didik dengan pendidik pada suatu lingkungan belajar pada suatu lingkungan belajar, hal tersebut sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional nomor 20 tahun 2003. Jadi bisa dikatakan bahwa pembelajaran adalah hubungan timbal balik antara guru dengan siswa untuk melaksanakan suatu proses belajar mengajar yang kreaktif, dan berpikir yang dapat meningkatkan ilmu pengetahuan dan kemampuan berpikir peserta didik, maka guru dituntut dapat memahami hakikat materi pelajaran yang dapat prestasi belajar siswa. Pembelajaran biologi akan berlangsung dengan baik jika guru dalam sebuah prosesnya memiliki dua kompetensi utama yaitu; 1. kompetensi substansi pembelajaran; 2. kopetensi metodologi pembelajaran. Selain menguasai materi yang akan disampaikan maka guru juga diharuskan menguasai metode pembelajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan materi ajar yaitu mengacu pada prinsip pedagogik, antara lain memahami berbagai macam karakteristik siswa. Jika metode pembelajaran tidak menarik, maka transfer ilmu pengetahuan dari guru kepada siswa juga menjadi tidak maksimal. Guru yang memiliki kompetensi akan lebih mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang efektif, menarik, menyenangkan, dan lebih mampu mengelola kelas, sehingga materi yang dipelajari dapat dipahami secara optimal. Salah satu kompetensi guru yang menunjang keberhasilan proses belajar mengajar adalah memahami berbagai model pembelajaran dan mampu menggunakannya dengan baik. .........

    PEMBELAJARAN BIOLOGI BERBASIS INKUIRI TERBIMBING DENGAN MULTIMEDIA DAN LINGKUNGAN RIIL TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR

    Mata pelajaran biologi  menekankan pada pemberian pengalaman secara langsung maka sudah semestinya mendudukkan siswa sebagai pusat perhatian utama. Peran utama guru adalah memberikan pengalaman dan memperkaya pengetahuan siswa dengan mengeksplorasi lingkungan dengan proses pembelajaran yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan multimedia dan lingkungan riil terhadap prestasi belajar biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen yang dilaksankan pada bulan Januari-Oktober 2010. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik cluster random sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelas. Satu kelas eksperimen I dengan multimedia dan satu kelas eksperimen II dengan lingkungan riil. Pengumpulan data prestasi belajar dengan menggunakan teknik pos test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan  terdapat perbedaan prestasi belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dengan multimedia dan lingkungan riil yaitu media dengan lingkungan riil memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik daripada multimedia terhadap prestasi belajar biologi

    BELAJAR SISTEM SIRKULASI MELALUI LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM-MOODLE: BAGAIMANA MENGEMBANGKAN BAHAN AJAR YANG BERORIENTASI PADA LITERASI SAINS?

    Teaching materials are one of the important factors that determine the success of the learning process. The research objective was to develop a circulation system teaching material based on Moodle's LMS which is oriented towards increasing students' scientific literacy. The development model used was Thiagarajan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate), to the stage of feasibility testing (develop). The subjects in this study were validators of media experts, material experts, language experts, teachers and students. The data collection technique was carried out using a questionnaire to measure the validity of the open material. The results showed that the circulation system teaching materials based on the LMS-Moodle, which were oriented towards increasing scientific literacy, had an average score of 3.50 (very valid) from a maximum value of 4.00 from all aspects. Based on the results of the research, it is shown that the teaching materials of the circulation system based on the Moodle LMS which were developed to increase scientific literacy are very valid to be used as learning media for the circulation system in schools and are expected to improve students' scientific literacy

    Ciculapod for Teaching Circulation Systems: Development and Validity of Biological Learning Media

    The goal of this research is to develop valid and feasible Nearpod-based circulation system teaching materials. This research method uses the ADDIE development model, which includes stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research was conducted from July 2022 to June 2023. The teaching materials were tested for feasibility in material, media, and language and tested by Biology teachers and students of SMAN 14 Jakarta. The feasibility test results showed that Nearpod-based circulation system teaching materials had an average score of 3.65 (very valid) on the material aspect, 3.89 (very valid) on the media aspect, and 3.53 (very valid) on the language aspect. In Biology, the teacher trial obtained a mean value of 3.51 and an average of 3.31 for the student trials. This shows that Circulapod teaching materials are very valid and feasible to be used as learning media for circulatory systems learning in schools

    CRITICAL THINKING AND BIOLOGICAL LITERACY: RELATIONSHIP WITH CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING OF PLANT TISSUE

    Biology learning currently requires students to have critical thinking ability and biological literacy so that they can improve conceptual understanding. The purpose of this study was to analyze the correlation between critical thinking ability and biological literacy in conceptual understanding of plant tissue. This research method is quantitative descriptive research using a correlational study. The research sample used 92 students from SMA Negeri 37 Jakarta. critical thinking ability instrument uses essay type test with 24 questions, biological literacy uses multiple choice type test with 10 questions and concept mastery is a multiple-choice type test with 30 questions. In variable showed that the fifth indicator was the lowest in critical thinking, biological literacy was the lowest in the nominal dimension, and mastery of concepts corresponded to the difficulty of the cognitive level of the questions. The results of hypothesis testing show that there is a positive and linear correlation between critical thinking ability and biological literacy with conceptual understanding of plant tissue. Multiple linear regression model Multiple linear regression model Ŷ = 13.077 + 0.399X1 + 0.413X2. Critical thinking ability and biological literacy contribute 33.5% to conceptual understanding. Critical thinking skills and biological literacy have a positive relationship but with different strengths and levels of contribution to the mastery of plant tissue concepts

    Guided Discovery-Blended Learning (GDBL): An Innovative Learning to Improve Conceptual Excretory System

    This research aimed to determine the effect of the Guided Discovery Blended Learning (GDBL) strategy on concept mastery of the human excretory system. The research method was quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest control group design. The samples consisted of the eleventh-grade students of Senior High school Jakarta in 2019/2020. Class MIPA-2 was the control class taught using Guided Discovery, and class MIPA-4 were the experimental class taught using GDBL. The learning process had been carried out both online and in the classroom. Research data were collected by integrating essay tests, students' responses to learning strategies, and observation sheets of syntax implementation. The data were descriptively analyzed and tested using ANCOVA. The normality test was performed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov formula, and the homogeneity test was performed using Levene's test. The statistical tests indicated that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous; thus, ANCOVA analysis using SPSS 24 was performed. The data analysis with the ANCOVA test at 0,05 significance level obtained p value = 0.000, which means that H0 was rejected. The research result implied that GDBL affected students' concept mastery of the human excretory system. It cultivated habits to independently rearrange the concept through teachers' guidance, both from sourcebooks and online media. GDBL can be used as an alternative for biology studies

    Developing Guided Discovery Learning-Based Neurodroid Learning Media for Critical Thinking Skills

    This study aimed to develop guided discovery learning-based android learning media to improve critical thinking skills. The developed biology learning media was applied to the nervous system material. The discussion of the physiology of the nervous system is one of the difficult biological materials to understand because it includes the organization and structure of neurons and their functions, ion pump mechanisms when neurons are at rest, action potential mechanisms, mechanisms for neurons to communicate with other cells in the synapses, and organization of the nervous system. This study used research and development (R&D) with a method developed by Thiagarajan, namely the 4D model with stages: define, design, develop and disseminate. The stages of this study are limited to the development stage. The results showed that the media was feasible with media, language, and a material expert validation of   3.5, 3.8, and 3.3, respectively

    Development of hormone system teaching material for distance learning to improve students digital literacy

    This research aims to develop hormone system teaching material for distance learning DL through Moodle to improve students' digital literacy. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model, which has the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The developed teaching material was tested for feasibility on the material, media, and language aspects by six expert validators. Two biology teachers and students from senior high school SMAN 3 Bekasi also tested the developed teaching material. The results showed that the hormone system teaching material for DL through Moodle had an average value of 3.40 (very valid) on the material aspect, 3.30 (very valid) on the media aspect, and 3.03 (valid) on the language aspect. The Biology teacher’s trial obtained an average value of 3.45 (very valid) and an average of 3.32 (very valid) for the students’ trial. The hormone system teaching materials for DL through Moodle has a final average value of 3.30 from a maximum value of 4.00. It shows that the hormone system teaching material for DL through Moodle is very valid to be used as a learning medium for hormone systems in schools and is expected to improve students' digital literacy

    Development of Integrated Biodiversity Student Worksheets With Computational Thinking

    Computational thinking is used in learning to improve problem-solving skills in Biology subjects. Classroom learning emphasizes students memorizing biological science concepts in problem-solving, resulting in students' computational thinking skills needing to be improved. So, efforts to overcome this so that students are actively involved in the learning process and to improve students' computational thinking skills in understanding biodiversity material are by providing teaching materials such as LKPD. This study combines the concept of biodiversity with computational thinking components in worksheets so that students can develop computational skills while understanding Biology concepts. This development research aims to develop student worksheets by integrating computational thinking into biodiversity material. This development research was conducted using the 4-D method through 4 stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data was collected using a questionnaire instrument by two validators consisting of language experts, material experts, and teaching material experts, as well as a readability test instrument by three teachers and ten students in class X at SMAN 3 Depok. The results of this study are in the form of student worksheets, which were successfully developed and suitable for use in learning because they obtained a valid category based on assessments from validators and a highly valid category from biology teachers and students
