The thesis Cumbero, Pompo, Rirrá, Tamborito, Jala-Jala, Merenguillo y Paseaíto: Ritmos de la Música Tropical del Siglo XX, Digitalización, Catalogación y Transcripción de Música of the document repository of the Faculty of Arts ASAB of the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas.

pemaknaansemiotika refaterre jala by Titis Basino P.I, revealing significance of riffaterre semiotics
ABSTRACT
This research aims to reveal the meaning conveyed by the author through signs in the novel Iola using theory of Riffaterre\u27s semiotics. The method used, Semiotics of Riffaterre, sees a literary works as a semiotic phenomenon. In that method, there are four things that should be considered in understanding a literary work, i.e. a poem or literary work that expresses something indirectly, heuristic and hermeneutic reading, matrix, model, and variance, and hypogram in the literary work. Data are taken from pia, a novel written by Titis Basino P.I.
From the heuristic reading, it is concluded that the story consists of three parts, namelythe story about the life of Mariati and Pamuji being the onion picking workers, the story about the life of Mariati and Pamuji who are trying to survive in the big city, Jakarta and the story about child adoption. From the hermeneutic reading by considering the potential hypogram, some main ideas of this novel are found. Some of the main ideas are Mariati and Pamuji working as the onion picking workers, the desire of Mariati and Pamuji to work in big city, Jakarta, Mariati who works as the housemaid, sexual abuse toward Maria ti, the marriage of Mariati and Pamuji, Mariati working as the receptionist of a medical clinic, Pamuji continuing his study at university, Pamuji having a job and becoming a writer, adopting a child.
Matrix or the central meaning of novel Jala is expectation, the expectation for getting luck. The matrix is then actualized into a model, namely "jala" or a net. As a model "jala" connotatively means expectation followed with struggle forgetting luck. The model is actualized into variants. The variants of novel Jala are the following: Mariati and Pamuji hying to get a better life by seeking for a job in Jakarta, Mariati who experienced sexual abuse by the son of her employer, the marriage of Mariati and Pamuji, Mariati working as the receptionist of a medical clinic, Pamuji continuing his study at university, Pamuji having a job and becoming a writer, adopting a child. The hypograms of the novel are the case of the rape done by the son of the employer and also marital betrayal, the case that was found in the previous literary work.
Key word: Jala, Expectation, Matrix, Hypogram
Picaros and Shapeshifters: The Postcolonial Picaresque Style in GauZ’s Standing Heavy
I read GauZ’s Standing Heavy in connection with the postcolonial
picaresque style, as GauZ’s Ivorian immigrant characters are robust
survivors who see through the French system and criticize it
through their anti-idealist viewpoints. This cynical view, often disclosed through roguish language, provides the author the possibility of expressing aggression toward the unfair system and
highlighting the characters’ need to find their agency within its
unequal structures. Meanwhile, the publisher’s marketing techniques and the author’s media appearances have contributed to
the novel’s great success on the literary market; however, I argue
that the novel’s success on the market should not diminish our
understanding of its cultural criticism. Instead, the author himself
may act as a shapeshifter in the competitive cultural marketplace,
since his engagement in strategies of self-exotism exposes our
sanctimonious need as readers to expect authenticity from African
authors in Western contexts when they have to conform to Western
codes

Therapeutic Application of MicroRNAs against Human Cancers
MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are deregulated in human cancers. A large number of studies have shown that miRNAs play critical roles in tumorigenesis, either as oncogenes or tumor suppressors. This review provides an overview of current research on the roles of miRNA in cancer development. Furthermore, we also discuss the current progress and limitation of therapeutic application of miRNAs in preclinical studies.Biochemical Research MethodsChemistry, AnalyticalSCI(E)EIPubMed2ARTICLE1,SI30-331
