Penerapan Metode Quantum Teaching Untuk Meningkatkan Motivasi Dan Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Mata Pelajaran Sejarah Kelas X Bahasa SMA Negeri 5 Malang

Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan oleh peneliti selama pelaksanaan PPL bulan Oktober 2014 menunjukkan hasil bahwa tingkat motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa kelas X Bahasa SMA Negeri 5 Malang masih rendah. Hal ini tercermin dengan perilaku siswa yang kelihatan kurang tertarik selama proses pembelajaran sejarah. Kurangnya keberanian dalam bertanya, menjawab dan bependapat menyebabkan hasil belajar sejarah menjadi rendah dibawah KKM. Solusi untuk memperbaiki permasalahan tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan metode Quantum Teaching yang berprinsip “Bawalah Dunia Mereka Ke Dunia Kita dan Antarkan Dunia Kita Ke Dunia Mereka” sehingga menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang bergairah dan menyenangkan. Rumusan masalah dari penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Bagaimana penerapan metode Quantum Teaching pada mata pelajaran sejarah di kelas X Bahasa? 2) Apakah penerapan metode Quantum Teaching dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas X Bahasa pada mata pelajaran sejarah? 3) Apakah penerapan metode Quantum Teaching dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas X Bahasa pada mata pelajaran sejarah? Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMA Negeri 5 Malang pada bulan Maret-April dengan subyek penelitian siswa kelas X Bahasa yang berjumlah 25 siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) MODEL Kemmis dan Taggart. Metode pembelajaran yang digunakan adalah metode Quantum Teaching yang dilaksanakan selama 2 siklus. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi aktivitas siswa selama pembelajaran sejarah berlangsung, pembagian angket motivasi belajar siswa dan pelaksanaan post test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Quantum Teaching dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Berdasarkan hasil observasi, motivasi belajar siswa pada siklus I naik dari 57,5% menjadi 85,425% pada siklus II, sedangkan berdasarkan angket mengalami peningkatan dari 64,05% menjadi 72,76% pada pasca tindakan. 3) Terdapat kenaikan hasil belajar siswa pada tiap siklus. Ketuntasan hasil belajar kognitif dari 68% atau 17 siswa pada siklus I naik menjadi 84% atau 21 siswa pada siklus II, sedangkan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar afektif pada siklus I sebesar 79 naik menjadi 94,3 pada siklus II
Isolasi dan Identifikasi Bakteri Termofilik Penghasil Selulase dari Kelapa Sawit (Elaeis guineensis)
Cellulase is an enzyme catalyzing hydrolysis of cellulose which usually consists of endoglucanases (EC.3.2.1.4), exoglucanases (EC.3.2.1.91) and β-glucosidases (EC.3.2.1.21). Cellulase is a very important enzyme due to its numerous industrial applications. The aim of this research were to isolate and identify cellulase-producing thermophilic bacteria that can be used to increase value added in oil palm industries. Samples of soil, empty fruit bunch compost and palm kernel meal were collected from oil palm plantation for obtained thermophilic bacteria. The samples were screened of cellulase-producing thermophilic bacteria by using a Congo Red method were made on carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) agar plates. The bacterial cultures were incubated in a shaking incubator (140 rpm) at 50oC for 24 hours. The assay for the enzymatic activity was based on the release of glucose that was detected using 3,5-dinitrosalicylic acid (DNS). In this research, 19 isolates of bacteria were isolated. It was found that 11 isolates of bacteria showed positive results with clear zone around the cultures by using Congo Red method. The result showed that isolates for CK1, EM4 and CK3 possesed the highest enzyme activity of 13.56, 12.50 and 10.49 U mL-1 for cellulase was detected at pH 7, respectively. The results of strain identification based on 16S rRNA showed that strain CK1, EM4 and CK3 were identified as Bacillus subtilis

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING THROUGH WEB QUEST IN TEACHING WRITING
This study investigates the implementation of problem-based learning through WebQuest in teaching writing to second graders of a Senior High School in Bekasi. It aimed at finding out the implementation of problem-based learning through WebQuest in teaching writing and the students’ perceptions of the implementation of problem-based learning through WebQuest in teaching writing. The study employed descriptive qualitative research design. The data were obtained from several instruments, namely classroom observation, interview, and questionnaire. The findings showed that the teacher has implemented problem-based learning through WebQuest in teaching writing as suggested by Tan (2003), although there were different activities at some stages. In addition, during the process of implementing problem-based learning, the teacher faced some problems: choosing the problem, internet access, and time allocation. In addition, it also was found that students perceived that WebQuest was useful, easy to use. Additionally, they were motivated and enthusiastic to study.

Penelitian ini membahas tentang implementasi problem-based learning melalui WebQuest dalam pengajaran menulis pada siswa kelas 2 di Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di Bekasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi problem-based learning melalui WebQuest dalam pengajaran menulis. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan beberapa instrument, yaitu observasi kelas, interview dan kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa guru tersebut sudah mengimplementasi problem-based learning melalui WebQuest dalam pengajaran writing seperti yang disarankan oleh Tan (2003), meskipun dalam pengajarannya ada beberapa aktivitas yang berbeda dalam beberapa tahapan. Selain itu, dalam proses pengimplementasian problem-based learning, guru menghadapi beberapa masalah yaitu pemilihan topic, akses internet, dan alokasi waktu. Penelitian lain juga ditemukan bahwa siswa merasa WebQuest sangat berguna, dan mudah untuk di akses. Ditambah lagi, mereka merasa termotivasi dan antusias dalam belajar.

TEACHING OF RECOUNT TEXT: A Qualitative Study of Second Graders in Junior High School
The present study, entitled “Teaching of Recount Text”potrays the techniques used by English teachers in one of public junior high school in Bandung.
This study is qualitative study, involving two English Teachers of junior high school. Observation, interview, and documents were employed to obtain data needed. The data from observation and document were analyzed to identify the techniques used by teachers, and the data from interview was analyzed to find out students responses towards the techniques.
The findings of this study showed that the two teachers used various techniques in teaching recount text. Teacher A used the presentation, question and answer, picture strips story, story telling and warp up. Teacher B used the brainstorming, teacher’s silence, question and answer, getting students’ to self correction, content explanation, identification and copying. The students have different response to the technqiues used by both teachers. They respond positively to the techniques delivered by teacher A, whereas to the techniques delivered by teacher B is negative

The interpretation of OPAC service in the Library of Universitas Airlangga
The application of OPAC service in the library has been going on for a long time. This service has given many advantages to users as a quick and accurate tool for information retrieval. Even so, not all people use OPAC service; in fact, previous researches reveal that the application of OPAC service is decreasing. Therefore, this study aims to find out what is the interpretation of OPAC by the users of the library of Universitas Airlangga, thus gaining a deeper analysis on the matter. The method used for this study is qualitative method, with purposive sampling as the technique to determine informants, while the techniques of data collection are done by in-depth interview and observation. The result of this study will be explained using Encoding-Decoding concept from Stuart Hall, which produces three position typologies of the users who used OPAC service in the university library. Those three positions are Dominant/hegemonic position where the users understand the meaning directly according to the purpose of OPAC service; Negotiated position reveals the position of the users who are quite understand the aim of OPAC service; and Oppositional position in which the users who strongly object the library’s purpose to provide a quick and accurate information provider through OPAC service
