Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Get PDFObjetivo: el derecho a la desconexión del trabajo, que surgió como un nuevo derecho laboral para hacer frente a los cambios en la sociedad del trabajo, tan afectada por la tecnología de la información, y que trae consecuencias nefastas para la vida y salud de los trabajadores, fue positivado en Chile por la ley n° 21.220 de 2020. No obstante, dejó muchas lagunas sobre su configuración y sobre la forma cómo se puede vulnerar este derecho laboral. Este trabajo pretende argumentar sobre estas líneas jurídicas, de forma de ofrecer contribuciones a la aplicación práctica del Derecho a la Desconexión Digital del Trabajo en las empresas y por la jurisprudencia, para los casos de conflictos entre las partes de la relación laboral.Metodología: se utiliza el método deductivo, a través de un enfoque bibliográfico y documental, por medio de la lectura de libros y artículos científicos, así como la revisión de la legislación chilena e internacional sobre la materia y la jurisprudencia.Resultados: las relaciones de trabajo van mutando. La tecnología va modificando estas relaciones para bien o para mal. Por un lado, facilita la ejecución de las labores, genera otras formas de trabajar y extingue aquellas que son repetitivas. Por otro lado, puede permitir que el trabajador siga constantemente conectado a sus actividades, que conteste a demandas de su empleador fuera de la jornada y de las dependencias físicas de la empresa y, de esta forma, perjudica el descanso y la vida social y familiar del trabajador.Contribuciones: el artículo tras como una de sus aportaciones el debate sobre el derecho a la desconexión, ya que es una situación que va más allá del mero derecho al descanso, y se configura de una forma que pasa a tutelar el derecho del trabajador de "existir" mucho más que "descansar".Palabras clave: Desconexión del trabajo, Tecnología, Configuración, Vulneración. ABSTRACTObjective: the right to disconnection from work, which emerged as a new labor law that aims to face changes in the labor society, so affected by information technology, and that it has dire consequences for the life and health of workers is consecrated in Chile, Law No. 21,220 of 2020. However, it has left many gaps on its configuration and on how this labor right can be violated. This work aims to argue about these legal lines, in order to offer contributions to the practical application of the Right to Digital Disconnection from Work in companies and by jurisprudence, for cases of conflicts between the parties to the employment relationship.Methodology: the deductive method is used, through a bibliographic and documentary approach, through the reading of books and scientific articles, as well as the revision of Chilean and international legislation on the subject as well as the jurisprudence.Results: working relationships are mutating. Technology is modifying these relationships for better or worse. On the other hand, it facilitates the execution of tasks, generates other ways of working and extinguishes those that are repetitive. obtidos através da implementação de políticas solidárias e redistributivas na história brasileira, demonstrando através de indicadores o comportamento não apenas da macroeconomia como também da esfera social através de indicadores desta natureza para trazer a extensão do desenvolvimento em sua esfera plural. Dessa forma, estudando a industrialização brasileira, os impactos da automação e cotejando através da estatística este cenário, é possível encontrar outra justificativa para a tutela trabalhista face à automação, concretizando o desenvolvimento que propõe um antropocentrismo no seu diálogo global.The legal protection of labor relations against the automation has always generated doubts about their delineations and parameters.
