Skolsköterskor behöver tydliggöra sitt arbete och sin profession för att möjliggöra preventivt arbete mot stress hos barn.ABSTRACT Title: Prevention of stress in school children – School nurses preventive interventions Author: Bjurkvist Sara; Tydén Teija Department: School of Health and Education, University of Skövde Course: Master Degree project in Nursing, OM854A, 15ECTs Supervisor: Larsson Margaretha Examinator: Thorstensson Stina Pages: 21 Keywords: School nurses, stress, prevention, nursing, children ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Background: Stress is a common health problem in society. Indonesian language has been a lingua franca between 1.128 ethnical groups speaking 746 regional languages and dialects, living in the Republic of Indonesia. The domination of Indonesian language in daily practice, the emerging popularity of foreign languages and the change in socio-economic condition have adverse impacts to the existence of regional languages. By 2007 about 35% of those languages are believed to be disappearing. Some ethnical groups with large population succeeded developing their languages through elaborate standardization, better teaching programs and rich literary works. Since 2004 government and linguists have been working on ef-fective regional languages teaching and promotion pro-grams. As the educational policy lies in the hand of pro-vincial government, new strategies have been implemented to incorporate regional language teaching into local content subjects within elementary, secondary and high schools respectively. In this paper the author will show a comparison study between teaching programs of Javanese, Sundanese and Dayak languages.Indonesian language has been a lingua franca between 1.128 ethnical groups speaking 746 regional languages and dialects, living in the Republic of Indonesia. No full text
Opinnäytetyön aiheena oli teatteripuvustuksen suunnittelu Kajaanin Kaupunginteatterin Amadeus-näytelmän yhdelle pääroolille, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozartin vaimolle Constanzelle. Amadeuksen ensi-ilta on 20.09.2014 teatteritalon näyttämöllä. Palaverit dokumentoitiin videoimalla. Pukuluonnoksista valittu ja tekijän valmistama asukokonaisuus kuvattiin puettuna Constanzen näyttelijälle. Tekijä sai työstään asiantuntijapalautetta ohjaajalta, skenografilta ja teatterin puvustossa työskenteleviltä ammattilaisilta palautelomakkeen avulla. The aim of the final project with thesis was to design theatrical costumes for one of the main characters, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s wife Constanze, in the Amadeus Drama at Kajaani Town Theatre. The premiere of Amadeus is on 20 September 2014 on the stage of the theatre building. The Rococo costume set designed by the author includes seven outfits, of which one outfit with technical drawings was manufactured. The final project with thesis was implemented by exploiting the author’s skills in costume designing and sewing, together with adapting the principles of the critical-realistic evaluation process model presented by Pirkko Anttila. The design and problem solving concept of J. Michael Gillette, intended for theatre production, was used to support the design process. In addition, suitable print patterns designed previously for the Amadeus Play were also exploited in the costume designing. The author became familiar with the script of Amadeus Drama and the history of women’s clothing in the late 18th century. The information was collected by observing one theatre show and two movies, which are placed in the Rococo time. The observation data was completed by three different meetings held by the director and the scenographer of the play and the author. The ideas and the costume sketches of the play were discussed in the meetings, which were documented by video. One outfit chosen from the sketches and produced by the author was worn by the actor playing the role of Constanze and photographed. The author received expert feedback about her work from the director, scenographer and the professionals of the theatre’s costume shop via the feedback blank

No full text
Background: Although it has been suggested that lumbar disc degeneration (LDD) is a significant risk factor for low back pain (LBP), its role remains uncertain. Our objective was to clarify the association between LDD and LBP and whether mental distress modifies the association. Methods: Participants of a birth cohort underwent 1.5-T lumbar magnetic resonance imaging at the age of 47. The association between the sum score of LDD (Pfirrmann classification, range 0-15) and LBP (categorized into "no pain", "mild-to-moderate pain", "bothersome-and-frequent pain") was assessed using logistic regression analysis, with sex, smoking, body mass index, physical activity, occupational exposure, education, and presence of Modic changes and disc herniations as confounders. The modifying role of mental distress (according to the Hopkins Symptom Check List-25 [HSCL-25], the Beck Depression Inventory and the Generalized Anxiety Disorder Scale) in the association was analyzed using linear regression. Results: Of the study population (n = 1505), 15.2% had bothersome and frequent LBP, and 29.0% had no LBP. A higher LDD sum score increased the odds of belonging to the "mild-to-moderate pain" category (adjusted OR corresponding to an increase of one point in the LDD sum score 1.11, 95% CI 1.04-1.18, P = 0.003) and the "bothersome-and-frequent pain" category (adjusted OR 1.20, 95% CI 1.10-1.31, P Conclusions: LDD was significantly associated with both mild-to-moderate and bothersome-and-frequent LBP. However, the co-occurrence of mental distress diminished the association between LDD and LBP bothersomeness. Our results strongly suggest that mental symptoms affect the pain experience.</p

Published by Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.Since their emergence, technologies have been applied to sustainable development in urban contexts. However, as the pace of climate change is still rapidly increasing, the question remains: what are the most urgent actions that designers of urban technology should focus on during the next ten years? In the HCI community, we need to consider the arguments of climate change experts more extensively. This paper reviews the latest recommendations by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change related to technology development in an urban context, aiming to respond to these sustainable urban technology design requests. Based on the principles of social sustainability and mixed methods approach and analysis of the IPCC's sixth assessment report, this review offers insights into the most urgent challenges that technology design should focus on. The findings suggest priorities and directions for future work when the aim is to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.Peer reviewe

Laitetoimitusprosessin keskeisen dokumentaation kehittäminen globaalissa teknologiayrityksessä

No full text
The aim for this study is to research an in-between-process phase documentation and possibly achieve development suggestion(s) on central documentation in a technology organization, in one of the product lines. Firstly, the theoretical framework is offered with a discussion on matrix organizations operating by projects and quality management approaches. The thesis revolves around also the psychological aspect of organizational life, and the author of the study has been working in the case organization already about half a year before the time of this thesis. Therefore, a psychological framework is consisted, already discussing with some parts of the theory. The research with the current processes and their instructed documentation established that the use of documentation is quite versatile, thus indicating the need for (re)training of the processes. The use of the one central document proved also to be insufficient to be a reliable document in transferring the knowledge between different phases and functions. One improvement suggestion is to develop a semi or fully automated way to follow and control the use of that or any document(s).Tämän työn tavoitteena on tutkia myynti- ja laitetoimitusprosessin välistä dokumentointia globaalin teknologiayrityksen yhdessä tuotelinjassa. Työn lopputuloksena tavoiteltiin muun muassa parannusehdotelmaa keskeiseen dokumentoitiin, sekä nykytilan selkeää kuvausta. Työn teoreettinen viitekehys muodostuu laatujohtamisen lähestymistavoista matriisiorganisaatiossa, jonka operatiivinen toiminta perustuu pitkälti projekteihin. Työn tekijä on työskennellyt kohdeorganisaatiossa noin puolen vuoden ajan ennen diplomityön aloitusta. Tuosta ajasta rakentui työn psykologinen viitekehys, sillä monet indikoidut ongelmat keskusteluissa tuntuivat vaistonvaraisesti olevan enemmän psykologisia. Nykytilan prosessitutkimus osoittautui melko vaihtelevaksi määriteltyjen dokumenttien osalta.

No full text
The aim of this Master’s thesis was to develop and test the prototype of Me & You -Boundaries a facilitator’s tool created by the author of the thesis. According to the results of the study, the Me & You -Boundaries tool has those qualities that are needed for its functionality. It is an excellent discussion opener. With it the client can be motivated to work his/her boundaries of interaction, wake up thoughts of self-improvement and strengthen the client’s self-image and -esteem. Me & You -Boundaries tool is an facilitation entity and it can be used processwise. In order to further develop the tool for its users it should be easily available and useable. For this purpose, it should be easy to print from the internet

Business Prohibition—How Company’s Financial Statements Reflect the Positions of Convicted Persons?

No full text
This study deals with the companies where persons who are convicted of a business prohibition for aggravated financial crimes, have acted in various positions. The main question is how the key figures in the financial statements of these contact companies reflect the activities of these convicted people. The study mainly concentrates on companies where the convicted person has acted as a CEO or deputy CEO. Five research hypotheses are derived and four of them are supported by evidence. The hypotheses were tested with empirical data, which mainly consisted of very small micro, limited, private companies with only 3 - 4 employees. There were originally 22 financial variables in the data, of which 10 were selected for continuation. Finally, stepwise logistic regression (LR) analysis was used to develop a model to detect companies with convicted persons. This model included variables measuring company growth, liquidity, and solidity, but not profitability. Moreover, a variable reflecting inconsistency in behavior of financial ratios was incorporated into the model. In years 1 - 5 before the sentence, the model correctly classified 63.4% of contact companies and 64.2% of non-contact companies. The classification accuracy of the model decreased systematically when the positions of the convicted persons decreased.© 2023 by author(s) and Scientific Research Publishing Inc. Feminismi ja feministinen kirjallisuudentutkimus kotimaisessa ja käännetyssä kaunokirjallisuudessa

No full text
The topic of this thesis is feminism and feminist literary research in Finnish and in translated fiction. The topic is current, not only in the field of literature, but also from social point of view. Feminism is a socially important contributor to equality, so it is important to explore the history, development and opportunities of feminism and to interpret its effects on fiction. The thesis was commissioned by Oulu University of Applied Sciences. The aim was to point out how feminist research, feminist literary research, feminism, female portrayal and woman's status developed in both literary and social form. The research methods used in this thesis were qualitative research and the hermeneutical method. Biographical method was applied in the interpretation of fictional works. The result of the thesis can be seen how versatile the feminist fiction is and how it has developed over the decades. There is no simple definition of what feminist fiction is. The author produces the text based on his or her own views which can be unintentionally or deliberately read as feminist fiction. Each reader is their own individual, and everyone processes the text in their own way. Fiction is interpretative and often based on the readers' own perceptions, values and attitudes. Feminist fiction is, however, of considerable importance in literature and should be seen as an opportunity to influence both social, cultural and economic issues

Association of lumbar disc degeneration with low back pain in middle age in the Northern Finland Birth Cohort 1966

Abstract Background: Although it has been suggested that lumbar disc degeneration (LDD) is a significant risk factor for low back pain (LBP), its role remains uncertain. Our objective was to clarify the association between LDD and LBP and whether mental distress modifies the association. Methods: Participants of a birth cohort underwent 1.5-T lumbar magnetic resonance imaging at the age of 47. The association between the sum score of LDD (Pfirrmann classification, range 0–15) and LBP (categorized into “no pain”, “mild-to-moderate pain”, “bothersome-and-frequent pain”) was assessed using logistic regression analysis, with sex, smoking, body mass index, physical activity, occupational exposure, education, and presence of Modic changes and disc herniations as confounders. A higher LDD sum score increased the odds of belonging to the “mild-to-moderate pain” category (adjusted OR corresponding to an increase of one point in the LDD sum score 1.11, 95% CI 1.04–1.18, P = 0.003) and the “bothersome-and-frequent pain” category (adjusted OR 1.20, 95% CI 1.10–1.31, P < 0.001), relative to the “no pain” category. Mental distress significantly modified the association between LDD and LBP, as a linear positive association was consistently observed among individuals without mental distress according to HSCL-25 (adjusted B 0.16, 95% CI 0.07–0.26, P < 0.001), but not among individuals with higher mental distress. Conclusions: LDD was significantly associated with both mild-to-moderate and bothersome-and-frequent LBP. However, the co-occurrence of mental distress diminished the association between LDD and LBP bothersomeness. Our results strongly suggest that mental symptoms affect the pain experience
