NEAR INFRARED SPECTRUM OF
Author Institution: Department of Physics and Astronomy, Michigan State CollegeThe first (2-0) and second (3-0) overtones of DCl have been obtained with high dispersion in the 2.4 and 1.6 regions. The dispersing system consisted of a recording vacuum spectrograph equipped with a 15,000-line-per-inch grating and a lead sulfide detector. Calibration was obtained by making use of the second order Argon emission lines and Fabry-Perot etalon fringes. Analysis yields molecular constants essentially in agreement with those obtained by Pickworth and for the fundamental. In addition the data yields values for the anharmonic constants. These values agree within experimental error with the calculated values as based on the data for HCl
PROFILE OF THE ROTATION-VIBRATION FUNDAMENTAL OF HCl AND DCl IN SOLUTION
Author Institution:The correlation-function approach to the analysis of absorption-band shapes has been used in studies of HCl and DCl in solution over a range of temperatures. The isotope effect on the band moments will be discussed in terms of the rotation-translation coupling model
THE INFRARED EMISSION SPECTRUM OF DCL
Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, University of WaterlooThe vibrational rotational emission spectrum of DCl was recorded with a Fourier transform spectrometer; line positions for the 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3 bands of and the 1-0, 2-1 and 3-2 bands of were measured. The two sets of data were combined with previously measured submillimeter were pure rotational transitions to obtain Dunham constants. A combined isotopomer analysis of data for all four isotopic forms of HCl was also performed combining these new data with analogous literature results for and , to yield Born-Oppenheimer breakdown correction terms for this system. The results of similar analyses of HF and HBr allowed a comparison of Born-Oppenheimer breakdown correction terms for HF, HCl and HBr

No Brasil, a
mecanismos supressores nessa patologiaDiffuse Cutaneous Leishmaniasis (DCL) is a rare clinical manifestation of Leishmaniasis, characterized by a number of
macrophages heavily parasitized. It has been suggested that DCL results from a lack of cell-mediated immunity to leishmanial
antigen, leading to uncontrolled parasite growth. In Brazil, Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis is the main specie
involved in DCL cases. In this review we approached the role of programmed cell death by apoptosis as a possible
immunopathogenic mechanism in the L. amazonensis infection. Similarly to the exposure and recognition of apoptotic
cells, L. amazonensis amastigotes expose PS on its surface, in a mechanism called “Apoptotic Mimicry” which drives
macrophage deactivation and allows the infection establishment and maintenance. In this context, the study of PS
exposure in the isolates of L. amazonensis of patients with DCL may contribute in the elucidation of suppressor mechanisms
in this pathology

Analyses of these systems are used to characterize the internal rotor motion of the and the intermolecular potential which orients the subunits into a T-shaped asymmetric top complex. The spectra provide an opportunity to study any preferential orientation of DCl systems versus their HCl analogs. Such a differential intermolecular orientation has been demonstrated both and for rare gas . H(D)Cl complexes. ANALYSIS OF AUTOIONIZING RYDBERG STATES IN THE VACUUM ULTRAVIOLET ABSORPTION SPECTRUM OF HCl AND DCl
Author Institution: Department of Chemistry, Yale UniversityThe photographic absorption spectra of HCl and DCl have been analyzed above the 1st ionization potential ( \AA). Rydberg series converging to the 2nd ionization limit () have been identified with quantum defects of 1.8 and 2.2. No rotational structure was observed in either series, indicating that the autoionization rate is faster than the rotational period (about for the lowest members of the two series). The symmetries of the Rydberg states cannot be determined conclusively since the rotational fine structure is obscured. Photoelectric studies of the absorption spectrum are underway in order to determine the relative intensities and lineshapes of the individual transitions
Determinants of cross-country income inequality : an augmented Kuznets hypothesis
Why does income inequality differ among countries? Using a sample of 80 countries from the 1980s, the author shows that two types of factors explain variations in income inequality. The first are factors that are, in the short term, independent of economic policies and are included in the standard formulation of the Kuznets'curve: the level of per capita income and the country's regional heterogeneity. From the viewpoint of economic policy, these are"given"factors, resulting in a"given inequality."The second group of factors are the social-choice factors reflected in the sizeof social transfers and of state sector employment, both of which reduce inequality. For this sample, the reduction amounts to about a quarter of"given"inequality. The importance of social-choice factors rises as the level of income rises. The divergence between actual inequality and the inequality predicted by the standard Kuznets'curve therefore systematically widens as a society develops. This discrepancy is systematic, the author contends. Inequality in richer societies decreases not only because of economic factors but also because societies choose less inequalities as they grow richer.Inequality,Poverty Impact Evaluation,Environmental Economics&Policies,Services&Transfers to Poor,Safety Nets and Transfers
