THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ROUNDTABLE TECHNIQUE ON STUDENT’S WRITING SKILLS IN DESCRIPTIVE TEXT
This research aimed to assess the effectiveness of implementing the roundtable technique in enhancing descriptive writing skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Simanjaya Lamongan. The research utilized a pre-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Data analysis involved the application of a paired sample t-test to ascertain the presence of a significant effect before and after the intervention. This research included a sample of 30 students from the eighth grade at SMP Simanjaya Lamongan. The findings of the research indicated a notable improvement in students' writing skills when employing the roundtable technique. This was evident in the average scores obtained by students on both the pretest and posttest. The mean score increased from 73.60 during the pretest to 83.03 in the posttest. The researcher then conducted a paired sample t-test to address the research question. The results of the t-test analysis revealed that the p-value (probability value) was below the significance level α (0.00 < 0.05). Consequently, the null hypothesis (Ho), asserting no significant effect of the roundtable technique on students' descriptive writing skills, was rejected. The acceptance of the alternative hypothesis led to the conclusion that the roundtable technique had a significant positive effect on the students' writing skills in producing descriptive texts
The Effect of Game-Based Learning Through the Snake and Ladder Game on Students’ Speaking Skills
Speaking was crucial skill to be learnt by student in order to talk with others from around the world. Students would need to rehearse to be able to express their ideas in English. The students’ Speaking skill was developed in the classroom when they have English class though in daily activities, they did not speak English. It made speaking as one of the most challenging things for students to grasp. The use of a good teaching method or media was really important in the teaching speaking process. The snake and ladder game was used as a medium by the researcher. This research was using experimental research with pre-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest). The data itself was analysed by using statistical through SPSS program. The participants of the research were the eleventh grades students of MA Falahiyah Lamongan. The data showed the students’ basic speaking skill of eleventh grades students in MA Falahiyah Lamongan were poor, because most of the students score were under the minimum score criteria. There were only 13% students passed the test. After getting the treatment, the result of the finding of post-test, the data showed the students’ speaking skill were improved because most of the students got enough score to complete the test. The result of the calcutaion of paired sample t-test with the sign (2 tailed) the result was .000, it was lower than 0.05 as level of significant. It means that the use of game-based learning through the snake and ladder game to teach speaking gave significant effect on students’ speaking skills

This research aims to answer statement of the problem that is structure, inner conflict and self defense mechanism of the main character in the Warawarata Ko short story when face his problems of life based on psychoanalysis perspective.
The method used in this research is using structural methods to analyze the elements of intrinsic, then used psychological approach literature for data related to the main character, using the theory of personality or commonly known as psychoanalysis, to discuss the structure of personality, anxiety, and self-defense mechanisms ,
The results of the research that has been achieved is the emergence of inner conflict on the main character that is triggered by anxiety and fear, because the dream is going through. To overcome the anxiety is the main character doing a self-defense mechanism of aggression is diverted, redirected aggression is when a person experiences frustration but can not be satisfied to reveal the source of frustration for not being clear or untouched. Id that is in Kichi figures greatly affect the state of psychology, because although in reality he was in a state of life with relaxing without thinking about his future, but because of his dream life changed.
Keywords : psychoanalysis, inner conflict. self defense mechanism
Hydrogeology of Mangsri Cave, Gunungsewu Karst Area, Java Island, Indonesia
The Gunungsewu karst area is not only known for its unique landscape but also its recurring drought events. To meet the water supply, the local population utilizes several water potentials, namely doline pond, spring, and underground river. This study was designed to analyze the hydrogeological conditions of Mbangsri Cave, following its accidental discovery by the community at the end of 2018. The hydrogeological analysis was conducted by geological surveys, which consisted of rocks collection and structural measurements, cave mapping, and recharge area delineation based on remote sensing images acquired by unmanned aerial vehicles. The results showed that Mbangsri Cave, in the hydrogeological perspective, had low water resources potential. It is believed to be the result of (1) relatively small catchment area, (2) a fault in the southern part of Mbangsri Cave, creating a small groundwater basin, and (3) the thin epikarst layer, limiting the water storage
Testing a global standard for quantifying species recovery and assessing conservation impact
Recognizing the imperative to evaluate species recovery and conservation impact, in 2012 the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) called for development of a “Green List of Species” (now the IUCN Green Status of Species). A draft Green Status framework for assessing species’ progress toward recovery, published in 2018, proposed 2 separate but interlinked components: a standardized method (i.e., measurement against benchmarks of species’ viability, functionality, and preimpact distribution) to determine current species recovery status (herein species recovery score) and application of that method to estimate past and potential future impacts of conservation based on 4 metrics (conservation legacy, conservation dependence, conservation gain, and recovery potential). We tested the framework with 181 species representing diverse taxa, life histories, biomes, and IUCN Red List categories (extinction risk). Based on the observed distribution of species’ recovery scores, we propose the following species recovery categories: fully recovered, slightly depleted, moderately depleted, largely depleted, critically depleted, extinct in the wild, and indeterminate. Fifty-nine percent of tested species were considered largely or critically depleted. Although there was a negative relationship between extinction risk and species recovery score, variation was considerable. Some species in lower risk categories were assessed as farther from recovery than those at higher risk. This emphasizes that species recovery is conceptually different from extinction risk and reinforces the utility of the IUCN Green Status of Species to more fully understand species conservation status. Although extinction risk did not predict conservation legacy, conservation dependence, or conservation gain, it was positively correlated with recovery potential. Only 1.7% of tested species were categorized as zero across all 4 of these conservation impact metrics, indicating that conservation has, or will, play a role in improving or maintaining species status for the vast majority of these species. Based on our results, we devised an updated assessment framework that introduces the option of using a dynamic baseline to assess future impacts of conservation over the short term to avoid misleading results which were generated in a small number of cases, and redefines short term as 10 years to better align with conservation planning. These changes are reflected in the IUCN Green Status of Species Standard.
