[EN] 6G technology represents the next generation of mobile networks, promising ultra-fast data speeds, low latency and massive connectivity. To achieve this, 6G promises to incorporate technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) or integrated sensing and communications (ISAC), which is the focus of this project. ISAC enables 6G networks not only to transmit data, but also to detect and track objects, enhancing applications such as autonomous vehicles and environmental reconstruction.
The development of new channel models for ISAC is vital for its performance, since traditional models are not adequate as they focus only on communications, while in ISAC they must present how the environment and objects interact with the channel, including new features such as radar cross section (RCS), not previously present in conventional communications models.
These new channel models for ISAC present several options depending on the use case. These will be analyzed in this work, where stochastic, deterministic or hybrid models (a mixture of the two previous ones) will be studied. In addition, it will be studied how to model the detected objects: as single or multiple scattering points, as statistical distributions, as functions and/or tables, etc.
Guimarães Rosa's work offers opportunities to explore the potential of the gaze in its most varied nuances. Through short stories, novels and his masterpiece, the novel Grande sertão: veredas, the author from Minas Gerais presents a multiplicity of characters that make up a very rich and complex gallery of human types who seek to understand the world and themselves through a particular optics that is, at the same time, universal. They are children, old and crazy, most of them from the country side of the so-called civilizing process, but with wisdom and insight that border on the sublime. Rosa's characters present a kind of original look, almost naive, but capable of revealing what is hidden behind the apparent reality. It is these transvisions of the gaze, with their veils and unveilings, that this book investigates, based on the encounter with emblematic works by Guimarães Rosa, namely: Sagarana, Corpo de baile, Grande sertão: veredas and Primeiras estórias. A rosa fenecida: crônicas
“A Rosa Fenecida: Crônicas” is a book by the author Chico Viana, who holds a PhD in Literature from the University of Rio de Janeiro. The book brings together chronicles published in the newspaper “O Norte”, in which the author humorously addresses everyday issues. Some of the chronicles in this book address topics such as the praise of routine, a new letter to Pero Vaz de Caminha, the setbacks resulting from replacing an old mattress, and a plot of figures of speech against grammar. The author is aware that the chronicler is, at most, a pool diver or a wall climber.“A Rosa Fenecida: Crônicas” é um livro do autor Chico Viana, que é doutor em Literatura
pela Universidade do Rio de Janeiro. O livro reúne crônicas publicadas no jornal “O Norte”,
An evaluation of interlayer stress absorbing composite (ISAC) reflective crack relief system
IHR-R07Reflective cracking of bituminous concrete overlays has long been a problem in pavement rehabilitation. Various types of interlayer systems and fabrics have been used to eliminate or slow the development of reflective cracks. These methods and products have had mixed results. In 1993, the University of Illinois completed research directed by the Illinois Department of Transportation on a prototype Interlayer Stress Absorbing Composite (ISAC). A prototype test section was placed on IL 38 near Rochelle, IL in 1993. Other ISAC test sections were placed on five asphalt concrete overlay (ACOL) projects between 1997 and 2000. Some of these ACOL sections contain other reflective crack control methods, such as Sand Anti-Fracture (SAF) layer, strip, and area-wide reflective crack control fabric. ISAC consists of a three-layer system. The top layer is a high strength woven geotextile to resist stresses caused by underlying pavement movements. This layer has the ability to, due to its weaving, expand like a chain link fence. This movement dissipates the stress caused by the movement of the underlying pavement. Typically, this geotextile has a tensile strength greater than 4,000 lb. /in. (700 N/mm) at 5% strain (ASTM D 4595). High strength is needed to ensure that, when the geotextile is expanded to its full extent, the geotextile strength is greater than the strength of the bituminous concrete overlay. The bottom layer is a low strength, nonwoven, geotextile (meeting AASHTO M-288-92). The middle layer is a modified rubberized asphalt layer to absorb the strain energy and bond the two geotextiles together. The system bridges across the joint or crack and dissipates stresses resulting from opening or closing movements. ISAC is bonded to the existing pavement using a tack coat and then the overlay is placed. The formation of reflective cracks and the subsequent deterioration of these cracks were delayed at ISAC treated joints and cracks. This statement was true for all five test sites. This delay ranged from over one year to close to three years when compared to the untreated and other crack control methods. Of special note, the ISAC areas consistently outperformed the System B products, PavePrep and Roadtac. When compared with SAF, the ISAC delayed reflective cracks by about two years. The two sections performed the same after the cracks were routed and sealed. The cost analysis indicated that the higher the total cost of the asphalt concrete the higher the number of cracks and joints that could be treated with ISAC. The present cost of the ISAC strips, 14 per foot, limits the conditions under which it would be cost effective to use ISAC. If asphalt costs are high or the cost of ISAC were to decline, there would be more projects that could benefit from using ISAC. Described herein are details of the various experimental field installations and a discussion of performance and results. Recommendations for the use of ISAC are included. /Abstract from report summary page

The Original Style of an Author and Two Translations into Spanish: João Guimarães Rosa and his Grande Sertão: Veredas
Abstract:
This article aims at analyzing how two Spanish-speaking translators of the novel Grande Sertão: Veredas, written by João Guimarães Rosa (1956), coped with particular translation problems. The edition published in 2001 by Nova Fronteira was selected for this study. It focuses on the author’s genuine writing features. One of the striking peculiarities is the author's preference for the use of the subjunctive mood, specially the imperfect. The translations selected are: the one by Ángel Crespo published in Spain, entitled Gran Sertón: Veredas published by Seix Barral in 1982, and the one by Florencia Garramuño and Gonzalo Aguilar, published in Argentina by Adriana Hidalgo in 2011.

Abstract: Author of a range of literary genres, such as short stories, novels and the well-known novel Grande Sertão: Veredas, Guimarães Rosa is recognized for the ingenuity of his narratives. Moreover, the author is acknowledged for a style which is the expression of a unique artistic personality in Brazilian literature. The power of his narratives to astonish readers’ conventional expectations is manifested in his last book, Tutameia: Terceiras Estórias, in quite a singular way. In this article we intend to present and analyze the way in which Tutameia: Terceiras Estórias is systematically aimed at de-automating the readers’ conventions regarding their apprehension of verisimilitude. In addition, it is intended to show how Guimarães Rosa stories and forewords stage what Bakhtin would define as the characteristic of the Romanesque as a genre: the “criticism”.Keywords: Guimarães Rosa; Tutameia; Bakhtin; romanesque; genre theory

Federal Highway AdministrationNTL-HIGHWAY/ROAD TRANSPORTATION-MaterialsUS Transportation CollectionTo approach the reflection cracking problem in AC overlays systematically the properties of the materials intended to be used in an ISAC system were first identified. Various thermal/structural models and laboratory equipment were used for this purpose. A number of woven and nonwoven geotextiles were selected and tested for their engineering properties such as tensile strength, initial modulus, modulus at failure, and percent shrinkage. Several samples of rubber asphalt were prepared by blending different ratios of crumb rubber with various types and ratios of asphalt cements at 400 F. These rubber asphalts were tested at different temperatures and the effects of temperature and rate of deformation on their stiffness were evaluated. An interlayer stress absorbing composite, ISAC layer was fabricated in the laboratory using the materials considered appropriate. Testing equipment was developed to evaluate the interfacial shear strength and laboratory testing was performed to determine the shear strength of the fabricated ISAC layer under an AC overlay. The ISAC layer was evaluated for its effectiveness against reflection cracking. A laboratory pavement section with an AC overlay over a jointed PCC slab was constructed and placed in an environmental chamber. A mechanical device was used to simulate thermal strain in the slab and the joint was opened and ciosed at an extremely slow rate. The testing was conducted at 30F and deterioration in the overlay was monitored using a sensitive LVDT device. The results from the laboratory evaluation testing program indicated that the ISAC layer was highly effective in preventing reflection cracking in a 2.5 in. AC overlay. When compared to a control test section and a section using a commercially available reflection cracking control material the ISAC layer provided for superior performance. A field pavement test section utilizing the ISAC layer was constructed in the Summer 1994 and field evacuation is ongoing
This dissertation performs a comparative study between the Divina Commedia and Grande Sertão: Veredas, having as a starting-point the notion of "Homo viator". Our analysis focuses on the path towards improvement undertaken by the "traveler", who is also the protagonist in both works. This fictional traveler is conceived of as a nexus of relationships that Dante-the-author and Guimarães Rosa construct in the making of each of their works, and it is to some of these relationships that we will pay attention in the first and second chapters, namely: the notion of the biblical exodus; the figure of the Roman-Greek nautical traveler in the characterization of the "homo viator"; the narratorprotagonist as a narrative device; and the caracterization of the works as travel literature. In order to perform an analysis of such elements, we draw our theoretical premises from the field of comparative literature, the theory of archetypes, and Platonic metaphysics. Lastly, in the third chapter, we compare and contrast two episodes from the referred works: the journey undertook by Ulysses in Canto XXVI of the Inferno, and the crossing of the "Liso do Sussuarão" in Grande Sertão: Veredas. The current work aims to present the "Homo viator"as a metaphor for the indefatigable human quest for truth

in the notes to his poetics (which we see in canto V of tragedy and of comedy). Guided by its theoreticalcritic
eagerness, from our point of view, we got an anthology where we highlight the most important
points of this theory, such as the fable, the style, the characters and more. We exemplify these both the
Oedipus of the author, as Oedipus the King model by Sophocles.
In the same way and continuing with the author’s journey by the various translators and authors
from different countries, that recreated this work adapted to the modern theatre. We consider making an
anthology of the Warning to its own work Oedipus, to show the tradition of this, the deficiency of it
following adaptations, besides the reasons that lead Martínez de la Rosa to create this work.
Finally, guided by them readings of their texts, we decided to create a comparative analysis of
the model of Sophocles and of Martinez de la Rosa. In this analysis, we show the similarities of the
characters and the scenes, both for check them solutions that the author gives for his “perfect” Oedipus, as
to show an adaptation, consider without errors, of the Oedipus in the 19th century
